She then strode outside.

At first, she gave chase quickly, but soon slowed down.

She had to maintain a certain distance from the one ahead.

Meanwhile, far ahead of them, the three from the temple were advancing rapidly.

They didn’t dare waste any time.

The mist would eat away at them, constraining their Heart Spirits and weakening their power.

This was a forbidden zone for Cultivators.

Once they entered, they had no expectation of leaving alive.

Just then, the young man sensed someone tailing them through his Immortal Spirit Power.

"That person found us, but it seems they haven’t located the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit," the young man said.

Hearing this, the middle-aged man nodded. "We can’t let them interfere with the plan. Their tracking technique is likely locked onto you. Share the Immortal Spirit’s location with us, then we’ll make a slight adjustment to our path. You’ll lead them away."

"We’ll proceed with the plan. We’ll let you know if we succeed." ℯℯ𝑙.

"If we fail, just find a way to escape."

Failure would be obvious: they would have to unleash the power granted by the Immortal Spirit.

Total annihilation.

Both the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit and her Messenger would be targets for obliteration.

"Yes." The young man nodded.

He then shared the location, veered off slightly, and continued forward.

The middle-aged man led the young woman toward the dilapidated temple.

If everything went smoothly, they would succeed.

The Ling Hua Immortal Spirit had only just awakened, so her strength was bound to be weak. As for her Messenger, it was common knowledge that they were nothing but a ragtag bunch.

「A long while later.」

Just as they were about to reach the dilapidated temple, they suddenly sensed an invisible light appear before them.

The mist roiled, and a figure emerged, watching them.

He bore no visible light, yet he seemed to radiate a brilliant glow.

They couldn’t make out his face, nor could they gauge his power.

"Who’s there?" the middle-aged man asked, his voice cold as he halted.

Jiang Man looked at the two of them. "From the Sun and Moon Immortal Path?"

The two fell silent, surprised that he had seen through them so easily.

In truth, Jiang Man didn’t know of any other Evil Gods, so he simply asked about the only one he was aware of.

Seeing their silence, Jiang Man continued, "Our revered Immortal Spirit promotes the great order of the Immortal Sects. You can go back now."

"The great order of the Immortal Sects?" the middle-aged man sneered. "That’s the nice way to put it. The blunt way is that it’s a centralization of power and resources. If you want to advance, you have to serve the Immortal Sects. What kind of great order is that? It’s slavery. That ’great order’ was never for people like us. It’s just a tool for the major families to control everyone else."

"Your very presence here proves my point. You should understand why you’re the one standing here."

"It’s because you have no resources. Because you’ve been exploited by the great families. Because they’ve always controlled the path forward."

"As a victim yourself, you should understand what we’re fighting for."

"You, of all people, shouldn’t be standing here trying to stop us."

The words had barely left his lips when the middle-aged man appeared before Jiang Man, striking out with his palm. "It’s over. In your next life, if you don’t have the strength, don’t take on such a heavy burden. It’s exhausting."

"Now, get some rest!"

BOOM!

The palm, carrying immense pressure, struck Jiang Man.

But as the palm landed, the man felt no solid impact.

Then, the middle-aged man felt a hand grip his wrist.

His opponent squeezed lightly.

CRACK!

His entire arm was twisted around.

With a SNAP, his arm shattered.

Stunned, he saw his opponent was now standing right before him.

A large hand landed on his chest.

Immovable as a Mountain.

CRACK!

His chest caved in, and the middle-aged man was sent flying backward, his face a mask of disbelief.

Watching his foe collapse to the ground, Jiang Man let out a breath. "With all that profound talk, I really thought you’d be strong."
