Chapter 595: Chapter 325: They Are All Spiritual Sources, Not a Single One Will Escape

Jiang Man took a stroll around Shuihe City before finally knocking on the door of a rather secluded house in a corner.

Living here was a couple—both dark-skinned and as thin as rakes. Upon seeing the newcomers, the two showed obvious concern.

"Immortals?" the man, who had been weaving a bamboo basket, asked softly.

In their minds, anyone dressed so cleanly was undoubtedly an Immortal.

Jiang Man glanced around and asked, "Where did you live before?"

The couple looked at Jiang Man and his group warily before the man answered, "We have always lived here."

"Is that so?" Jiang Man peeked toward the inner room. "The person inside doesn’t live here, right? Could you ask him to come out for a chat?"

The couple panicked slightly.

"We don’t know what you’re talking about," the frail woman chimed in.

Zhuo Qingcheng frowned. "You just called us Immortals. Do you really think we wouldn’t know?"

"Don’t make things difficult for them." A weak voice echoed from inside, followed by a middle-aged man walking out.

He looked at Jiang Man and the others, his eyes filled with regret. "I didn’t expect you to find me so quickly. I thought my concealment abilities were pretty good and that I could hide for a while longer. I never imagined I’d be exposed so soon.

"If you want to kill me or torture me, do as you please.

"But they truly had no idea I was hiding here."

Jiang Man observed the man. He could clearly feel that the atmosphere out here was entirely different from the Sect’s, and even vastly different from the Yunqian Bureau’s. Even the way people communicated felt strange.

As for the man in front of him, Jiang Man had detected his aura while wandering around. The man’s concealment ability could only be considered passable. Back in the Wuyun Sect, such a crude technique would be a joke.

After all, Cultivators there practiced a combination of Cultivation Skills, Body Refining Skills, and Visualization Skills. When coordinated, these techniques naturally provided a perfect disguise. This man, however, seemed to have only practiced a Cultivation Skill and relied solely on Magic Skills to hide.

Not to mention, the disciples of the Wuyun Sect had learned the precise manipulation and application of Spiritual Qi. This was especially true for Jiang Man, who had received personal guidance from someone like Mr. Ji. How could this man possibly hide from him?

"We have some questions for you," Jiang Man said, looking at the man. "Can you walk? If so, follow us and show us around."

The man didn’t refuse. He stepped past the couple at the door. The two looked worried, but the middle-aged man was resolute, not even sparing them a single glance. His biggest fear was that these people would suddenly strike and kill the couple. If he made any eye contact with them, it would surely spell their doom.

"You don’t need to be so tense. We aren’t some heinous villains," Jiang Man said.

Han Meixue chimed in, "That’s right. We even watch our step for ants to avoid crushing them. We didn’t come here with the intention of killing anyone."

Her sincere tone made the middle-aged man feel like she was telling the truth. He subconsciously chose to believe her, but quickly snapped out of it, exclaiming in shock, "A Charm Technique?"

Han Meixue was a bit surprised. "You snapped out of it that fast? Is an Early Stage of Golden Core Cultivator really this formidable?"

"Why don’t you ask how old he is?" Zhuo Qingcheng interjected. "Given how difficult it must be to become a Golden Core Cultivator in an environment like this, his Heart Spirit is naturally firmer. It’s completely normal that ordinary Charm Techniques have no effect on him."

"Let’s go. After we finish investigating the surroundings, we still have to head up to the Sanhe Sect," Jiang Man said casually.

The middle-aged man could now tell that this young man was the leader of the group. He silently chose to follow. ℴ

Jiang Man held a small furnace in his hands, walking at an unhurried pace. The furnace flickered with Array Patterns, further concealing their presence. Since they were escorting someone who needed to stay hidden, they naturally had to keep a low profile to avoid unnecessary trouble.

However, as they walked out of the alley, Jiang Man glanced back. Zhuo Qingcheng and the others did the same. Deep within the alley, the couple was standing there; they had followed them of their own accord.

A fierce glint flashed in the middle-aged man’s eyes. "Get back inside!"

"Let them follow if they want to," Jiang Man said.

The middle-aged man grew anxious.

Han Meixue looked at him and teased, "Didn’t you say you don’t know them? Why are you so worked up?"

"It means he does know them, and he’s terrified we might kill them," Zhuo Qingcheng added.

"We truly don’t kill ordinary people," He Que stated.

The middle-aged man realized that whatever he did would be useless. Eventually, the couple was called over. He sighed, "Why put yourselves through this?"

"We won’t live much longer even if we stay," the young man said with lowered eyes. "Being able to die with you is a good thing."

"Why won’t you live much longer?" Jiang Man asked.

"Will your Sect actually let us live? Although I don’t know why we were made to live in this place, a batch of people is always put to death afterward," the dark-skinned man said.

"Do you have a grudge against the Sanhe Sect?" Jiang Man asked.

Upon hearing this, they didn’t know how to answer for a moment. A grudge? They couldn’t even tell anymore.

"Tell us about your experiences," Zhuo Qingcheng suggested.

The dark-skinned man looked at the middle-aged man. Seeing that the other party didn’t shake his head, he remained silent for a moment before speaking, "I have never read a book, nor have I learned any great philosophies.

"I only remember that my parents were very busy and very scared every day, forbidding us from going outside.

"We weren’t even allowed to look up at the sky.

"At first, I didn’t understand. But one day, my playmate looked up at the sky.

"Then, he suddenly caught on fire.

"I watched him burn to death alive.

"That was the day I learned about the existence of Immortals.

"They have always been there, flaunting their absolute power at all times.

"My parents were killed by them for begging them to spare my younger sister. They said it was an act of defying the Sect.

"My younger sister died the very day she was taken. Her stomach growled from hunger, and they said it disturbed their Cultivation.

"My younger brother was unmarried at the age of fifteen, so they said he was delaying the birth of fresh blood for the Sect, and he was killed too.

"My older sister hadn’t given birth for two years, so her entire family was slaughtered."
