Chapter 600: Chapter 328: You Have the Nerve to See Me Without a Spiritual Source?

Three Rivers Immortal Spirit.

Jiang Man marveled at the creature’s massive upper-body muscles, which seemed to harbor endless power. Standing there, the entity resembled a towering mountain of Qi and Blood. Its Cultivation was far beyond the Primordial Spirit realm. He couldn’t help but wonder, "Was such a powerful Evil God subdued just like that?"

Furthermore, every Evil God possessed its own unique abilities. For instance, Mu Kong had an extremely acute perception of space, allowing him to traverse and even seal it. The Ling Hua Immortal Spirit could lock away a person’s Heart Spirit. As for this one, his powers were likely related to river water.

Ren Qian smiled awkwardly. "Well, you’ve seen him now, haven’t you?"

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit glared at Ren Qian. "Do you take me for a fool? Do I look like an idiot to you?"

Jiang Man looked at the creature’s well-developed limbs and its explosive temper, falling silent for a moment.

Ren Qian shrugged. "Looks like there’s nothing to discuss."

"Ready to kill me?" the Three Rivers Immortal Spirit sneered coldly. "You can try. The moment I die, this place will spiral completely out of control. Besides, it’s impossible for you to truly kill me. At worst, I’ll just fall into dormancy. I am an Evil God with formidable backing. Sooner or later, someone will fish me out and revive me. I’m not like those minor, wild Evil Gods. I won’t just let you slaughter me."

Ren Qian didn’t pay it much mind. He felt that the entity simply didn’t understand the Immortal Sect very well.

"How about I have a chat with him?" Jiang Man suddenly spoke up.

"You? Wait until you’re actually someone important before spouting such nonsense," the Three Rivers Immortal Spirit scoffed.

Jiang Man thought for a moment before asking, "You wanted to see me in person?"

"Why else? I want to memorize the face of the scum who plotted against me!" The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit’s mouth twitched with fury. He seemed exceptionally enraged about being ambushed, acting as if he could have actually defeated the Sect’s experts in a fair fight.

"Sure. I’m a very reasonable person. Let alone meeting, if you want a one-on-one duel, that’s fine too," Jiang Man replied.

"A duel it is, then! I want to fight right now," the Three Rivers Immortal Spirit demanded instantly.

Jiang Man nodded and looked at him seriously. "Whenever my fellow disciples—juniors and seniors alike—want to duel me, they have to pay an adequate amount of Spiritual Sources. So... how many Spiritual Sources are you offering?"

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit froze, visibly on the verge of erupting in anger.

However, Jiang Man beat him to the punch, expressing his dissatisfaction first. "Don’t tell me you don’t even have any Spiritual Sources? Then why did you bother looking for me? You’re just wasting my time. Broke loser!"

With that said, Jiang Man turned around and walked away. As he left, he muttered loudly in a disdainful tone, "Come find me when you actually have some Spiritual Sources. You want to see me with empty pockets? And you claim to have backing? What kind of backing leaves you with zero Spiritual Sources?"

Realizing what had just happened as Jiang Man walked away, the Three Rivers Immortal Spirit went absolutely ballistic. "You little scum, stop right there! Who are you calling broke? I do have backing! My background is earth-shattering! They could crush you to death with a single finger! Stop right there, you scum, and clarify what you meant!"

But Jiang Man had already vanished completely.

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit snapped his head toward Ren Qian. "Call him back in here. Hurry up!"

Ren Qian told him the truth, "My junior brother here is quite fond of wealth. Do you have any Spiritual Sources? If not, I won’t call him back. It would just delay his Cultivation."

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit frowned. "Don’t you want to know the information I have?"

"You saw the person you wanted to see and still didn’t say anything. Even if I call him back in, you still won’t talk. Your credibility is gone," Ren Qian pointed out.

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit fell silent for a moment before asking, "How many Spiritual Sources does it take to invite him back in?"

"Around a hundred thousand," Ren Qian said casually.

"A hundred thousand?" The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit was stunned. "I might not know exactly how your Spiritual Sources work, but that is definitely a huge number."

Ren Qian nodded. "It is. But you can’t blame my junior brother; he’s swimming in Spiritual Sources right now. After reporting you guys, he raked in eight million in one go. We really have you to thank for making him so wealthy."

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit fell completely silent.

"If you want to report others, you can earn Spiritual Sources too. Twenty thousand per head," Ren Qian helpfully reminded him.

"Didn’t you just say eight million?"

"Well, four hundred people makes eight million, doesn’t it?"

"..."

The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit was so furious his lungs were about to explode.

Jiang Man breathed a sigh of relief after leaving.

He had finally managed to completely derail the Three Rivers Immortal Spirit’s train of thought, saving himself from an endless barrage of curses. Who would be cursing whom in the future was still up in the air. This Evil God talked way too much and had a terrible temper to match.

However, one thing was certain: the underground river was indeed related to him. It was a manifestation of the Evil God’s power. Now, it was just a matter of whether Ren Qian and the others could handle this kind of ability. After all, the Zhenyue Bureau was comprised of professionals.

Still, he figured he could go touch the altar and see if the Celestial Mirror Hundred Books would provide any insights. Sometimes, the book would offer a brief mention, even though most of the time it deemed things not worth bringing up.

When Ren Qian came out, he recounted what had happened inside. The Three Rivers Immortal Spirit was currently racking his brain trying to figure out how to earn Spiritual Sources.

"Now, as long as he wants Spiritual Sources, he’ll have to spit out information. We owe it all to you, Junior Brother," Ren Qian said, looking at Jiang Man with undisguised admiration. Inwardly, he couldn’t help but sigh, thinking it was no wonder the people in the Inner Sect were already preparing to ambush him in the dark even before he joined them.

Jiang Man didn’t mind the praise. Instead, he asked about the location of the altar, stating that he wanted to take a look and perhaps consult the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit to see if there were any other clues.

Soon, Ren Qian led Jiang Man to the underground river. A dark red altar floated on the water’s surface, firmly anchored by four thick iron chains extending from the depths, as if they were worried the altar might shoot into the sky. Faint glimmers of light sparkled within the river, intertwined with wandering currents of Evil God Power.

"Be careful with the aura of the Evil God, Junior Brother," Ren Qian warned. "This aura can indeed be absorbed like Spiritual Qi for Cultivation, but it will clog your Heart Spirit and Physical Body. You might not be afraid of it, but you still need to be aware of how dangerous this thing is."

Jiang Man nodded. However, he didn’t quite understand why it would lock away one’s Heart Spirit. Why was it exactly like an Ancient Well Type Evil God?

"I only have a half-baked understanding of this myself," Ren Qian mentioned casually. "Rumor has it that it’s related to the collective fall of the Evil Gods. This is also the reason why cultivating late into the night has negative side effects."
