Chapter 632: Chapter 341: Has Mr. Yan Gone Crazy from Cultivation?
Luo Huaili pondered for a moment. "She had some ambitions when she was younger, but the arranged marriage smoothed out her rough edges.
"I don’t know if she still harbors those thoughts.
"Besides, she isn’t an ungrateful person. Deciding to just walk away like this will be very difficult for her."
He paused. "We need something to give her a little push."
"And you? What are your thoughts?" Luo Jian asked his older brother.
Luo Huaili shook his head. "I don’t know. I just want her to be a bit happier.
"After all, even if Luo Xuan achieves Core Formation, she wouldn’t truly be able to shoulder the weight of the Luo Family."
After he said this, neither of them spoke again.
A few young Qi Refining Stage disciples approached along the stone path, talking and laughing. They spoke of youthful interests, their laughter filled with the carefree innocence of their age.
The sight filled Luo Huaili with a myriad of emotions. He had been young once too, but that was a long time ago. Now, he had to force his young daughter to make a monumental choice—a choice that would change her destiny.
Meanwhile.
Luo Xuan stood behind the counter, her brows furrowed as she tallied the account book. The tip of her brush hovered over a single line for a long time. The ink pooled and spread into a small blot, but she didn’t even notice.
After a long while, she looked up slightly and gazed outside.
The letter had said that Uncle Jian would arrive today. She needed to make a decision.
"Miss Luo, what are you thinking about?" Xiaopang asked casually as he walked past carrying a batch of Spirit Medicine.
By now, the small shop was fully stocked with all kinds of Spirit Medicine. The colorful assortment made it look like a vibrant flower garden.
She looked at Xiaopang and couldn’t help but ask, "Young Master Gao, how many people do you think it takes to run a shop?"
Xiaopang blinked in surprise. "Two?"
"If there were only one, could they manage the shop?" Luo Xuan asked.
Xiaopang set the Spirit Medicine down by the counter and thought for a moment. "Probably, but it’d be a bit tedious."
"Probably," Luo Xuan murmured, lowering her gaze.
Xiaopang looked puzzled. "What’s wrong?"
Luo Xuan shook her head and asked curiously, "If one day, your eldest uncle said he wanted to take you out to focus on Cultivation and asked you to leave this place, would you go?"
"No," Xiaopang replied without hesitation.
"Why not?" Luo Xuan asked, intrigued. "You could achieve Core Formation if you leave."
Xiaopang scoffed dismissively. "How could my uncle compare to Brother Jiang? Brother Jiang also said I have hope for Core Formation.
"Between the two of them, whose words do you think carry more weight?
"Brother Jiang’s, obviously. My uncle can’t hold a candle to him."
Luo Xuan was taken aback. "That answer feels a bit like cheating," she noted.
Xiaopang didn’t understand.
Luo Xuan pressed again. "What if Jiang Man wasn’t here?"
"Then I’d definitely go. It’s Core Formation, after all," Xiaopang said earnestly. "Ordinary people wouldn’t come across an opportunity like that in their entire lives.
"It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. There’s no reason to turn it down."
"Yes, the opportunity of a lifetime," Luo Xuan echoed with a sigh.
At that moment, Luo Jian and Luo Huaili arrived at the entrance of the small shop.
"Young Master Gao, it’s been a while," Luo Huaili’s voice rang out.
Xiaopang paused, taken aback. "Uncle Luo? What brings you here?"
"Just here to see Luo Xuan," Luo Huaili said with a smile. "We plan to discuss some Luo Family matters with her."
Xiaopang tactfully stepped outside. He wondered if there was a crisis in the Luo Family. He hadn’t heard his own family mention anything about it, nor had they sent any letters. It probably wasn’t a big deal.
Inside the shop, Luo Jian looked at Luo Xuan and said, "You’ve blossomed into a beautiful young woman. You’re all grown up."
"Uncle Jian," Luo Xuan greeted respectfully.
Luo Jian gave a slight nod. "You should know why I’m here. Do you have an answer?"
Luo Xuan nodded bitterly. "Young Master Gao said this is the opportunity of a lifetime, and that I should go."
Luo Jian nodded.
An hour later.
Luo Jian and Luo Huaili left. Before departing, they said their goodbyes to Xiaopang.
Xiaopang approached the counter, thoroughly confused. "Miss Luo, what happened with your family? Is my dad throwing his weight around?"
Luo Xuan’s furrowed brows relaxed, and she shook her head slightly. "No."
After a pause, Luo Xuan turned to look at Xiaopang and couldn’t help but ask, "Young Master Gao, do you ever get the feeling that I’m a coward?"
