Chapter 647: Chapter 347: The Despair of an Ant Trying to Shake a Tree
He simply stood there, watching his opponent’s attack, displaying neither joy nor sorrow.
BOOM!
The fist hurtled straight toward Jiang Man. A massive roar echoed out, and the resulting shockwave carried such tremendous power that the onlookers were forced to retreat a few paces. Yet, all this power was unleashed entirely upon Jiang Man.
The spectators’ hearts leaped in shock.
Ji Linglong couldn’t sit still anymore. She immediately stood up, wanting to ask Mr. Yan to call a halt to the match.
Ji Meng pressed a hand onto her shoulder. The grip wasn’t heavy, but it was steady. "Don’t rush. Let’s watch a bit longer."
Ji Linglong glanced back at Ji Meng. The other woman’s expression was so calm it didn’t look like she was watching one of their own getting beaten.
By now, the dust had settled, and the storm of power had dissipated.
The fist hovered right in front of Jiang Man, unable to advance even an inch. It was as if it had struck an invisible wall; the giant’s fingers were even trembling slightly from the rebound force.
Meanwhile, Jiang Man remained exactly where he was. Even the hem of his clothes hadn’t fluttered.
"This is the aura of pure power." Qing Dai’s pupils constricted slightly, unable to suppress the astonishment in her voice. "Physical Body, Cultivation, and Primordial Spirit—the three have integrated into one to condense this power barrier, and its intensity is unimaginably high. Has our son-in-law’s Cultivation and control over his power reached such a terrifying level?"
Since when?
"What is this?" Bai Ming withdrew his hand in astonishment, looking down at his fist. His knuckles tingled faintly, and the rebounding force left his entire arm trembling.
Jiang Man looked at him, his body slowly levitating. He spoke softly, "What it is no longer matters. What matters is that you can continue attacking and experience the despair of an ant trying to shake a tree."
Hearing this, a flash of irritation crossed Bai Ming’s eyes. "An ant shaking a tree? Are you looking down on me that much, or do you just think too highly of yourself?"
Then, his power erupted completely.
Boundless radiant power ignited across the giant’s body. A wave of heat surged forward, forcing everyone in the courtyard to raise their arms to shield themselves. Carrying a terrifying aura, the giant followed up by launching punch after punch.
BOOM!
BOOM!!
BOOM!!!
Every punch carried apocalyptic momentum, and the ground caved into deep craters beneath the giant’s feet. The formidable power rained down on Jiang Man, but it was entirely deflected, unable to pierce that barrier of energy.
Every strike was like tossing a pebble into a deep pool. It couldn’t even make a splash.
As Jiang Man reached the same height as the giant, he began to move toward his opponent. He didn’t move quickly—in fact, one could say he moved very slowly. But every step was utterly steady, as if he were just taking a leisurely stroll in his own backyard.
Bai Ming was enraged.
He relentlessly vented the power within his body. Each punch was heavier than the last, and the giant’s glow grew increasingly blazing. He wanted to show Jiang Man exactly who was being arrogant.
Yet, no matter how he attacked, Jiang Man’s figure continued to close in on him. His power couldn’t shake the man in the slightest. Truly, not even by a single fraction.
Bai Ming wondered how this could be possible. It was simply impossible.
His breathing grew ragged, and sweat beaded on his forehead. His fists flew faster and heavier, but punching forward felt like he was hammering against a mountain.
A mountain wouldn’t move. Nor would a mountain care.
By now, Jiang Man had leisurely arrived above the giant’s head, looking down at him from above.
"Do you understand now?" Jiang Man asked, reaching out a hand to rest on the top of the giant’s head. "I don’t blame you if you don’t. I’ve been too quiet, which gave you the illusion that you could defeat me."
Then, the power of Primordial Spirit Perfection burst forth from his palm.
The sheer weight of this power was as heavy as the vast earth itself. As it poured down from his palm, the air was compressed so intensely that it hummed.
CRACK.
Fractures appeared on the giant’s skull. The cracks spread from the crown of the head down to the face, then to the shoulders, until finally, the entire head shattered, dissolving into a sky full of dissipating motes of light. The power pierced through the shattered giant and slammed onto Bai Ming.
BAM!
Bai Ming was sent flying by the impact. He crashed heavily into the ground, causing the bluestone slabs beneath him to spiderweb into a mess of cracks.
Dust kicked up, then slowly settled.
Terror filled Bai Ming’s eyes. He hadn’t even seen Jiang Man make a physical move; that was merely the sheer weight carried by his power. Just how heavy was his power?
"If you don’t pursue Cultivation alongside him, you look at him like a frog at the bottom of a well gazing at the moon. If you do pursue Cultivation alongside him, you look at him like an ant gazing up at the boundless heavens," Lin Qingshan’s voice rang out, carrying into everyone’s ears.
Bai Ming’s pupils trembled slightly before his eyes rolled back, and he passed out completely.
Ji Linglong stared blankly at the scene before realization hit her. If he was this strong, why had he still scammed them out of their Elixirs?
Zhao Yaoyao had walked up beside her at some point. With her arms crossed, she watched Jiang Man slowly descending into the arena and spoke in a flat tone. "Do you see now? If you’re ever in danger one day, and wave after wave of experts prove helpless against it, but you happen to see Jiang Man arrive... then congratulations, you’re saved."
Meanwhile, Mr. Yan was also filled with emotion. Jiang Man had grown strong to a degree she couldn’t even comprehend. Thankfully, she was naturally suspicious and hadn’t believed that he truly wouldn’t fight for a top-three spot. Someone as pretentious as him—how could he possibly pass up such an excellent opportunity? It simply wasn’t in his nature.
Jiang Man slowly touched down and approached Mr. Yan. "I’m first, right? Where’s the Spirit Sword?"
Mr. Yan fell silent for a moment. In the end, she handed the Spirit Sword over to him.
