Chapter 667: Chapter 355: You Write the Request, I’ll Approve It

In Qing Dai’s eyes, the Bai Family Ancestor’s invitation was nothing more than a ploy to kill them. He was even prepared for mutual destruction. Her young miss never should have accepted this challenge. Since her miss had no time limit on her outing, stalling would only work in their favor.

But the other party had actually used her husband to threaten her. From a certain perspective, the opponent would never do something as foolish as killing her husband. That would provoke chaos among the Immortal Sects, something they would never tolerate, especially if someone on the list did it personally. Of course, this was unless the other party had completely lost their mind. But the chances of that were abysmally low.

This kind of trap was both crude and ordinary, yet her miss had jumped right in, leaving Qing Dai quite helpless. Even so, she didn’t try to talk her out of it. Once her miss made a decision, her only job was to execute it. If the enemy could set up traps, so could she.

However, just as she was about to head over, Ji Meng called out to stop her.

Ji Meng looked up at her back. "You’re not planning to go to that place, are you?"

Qing Dai turned sideways, puzzled. "I was going to make some preparations of my own. We’ll see who gets the last laugh."

Setting down her teacup with a soft CLINK against the table, Ji Meng smiled, finding it amusing. "Since he brought this up, he’s definitely already stationed there. Do you really think he’d just set up his traps and wait for you to destroy them?" She picked up a pastry. "If you go now, you’ll run right into him. Do you think he’ll attack you or not?"

Qing Dai froze.

Of course he would attack. And once they started fighting, she would fall right into his trap. If she couldn’t escape, it would force her miss to act prematurely, and a massive battle would erupt instantly. Caught off guard against the fully prepared Bai Family Ancestor, their chances of winning would be incredibly slim.

Taking a deep breath, Qing Dai walked behind Ji Meng. "I almost ruined your plans, Miss. But we can’t just be sitting ducks for these three days. We have to prepare." Pausing for a moment, Qing Dai looked out toward the courtyard. "You must be careful, Miss. He is definitely planning to take you down with him. He said someone would kill him, and this sudden challenge likely means that person is fast approaching."

Hearing this, the pastry in Ji Meng’s hand paused in mid-air. She turned to Qing Dai, quite curious. "Who do you think would kill him?"

"Didn’t he suspect your husband? Maybe it’s him," Qing Dai said casually.

Though that was impossible, because her husband wasn’t strong enough. Even though he had reached Great Success in the Nine-star Series, in their eyes, he was still too ordinary. Let alone when compared to the Bai Family Ancestor.

Ji Meng took a delicate bite of the pastry. Swallowing it, she finally said, "If someone dares to kill the Bai Family Ancestor, would they dare to kill me too?"

Qing Dai’s pupils constricted slightly. She opened her mouth, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Are you saying this person is targeting people on the list, Miss?"

Ji Meng didn’t answer, merely lifting her teacup for a sip. But Qing Dai knew this possibility was extremely high.

Then who was it? Someone from the Evil Gods? Or from the Demon Race? The Immortal Sects obviously wouldn’t do something like this—the fallout would be too massive. But no matter who it was, they were in grave danger.

"Should I write a letter to your husband, Miss?" Qing Dai asked. If they were truly facing two enemies, their prospects were grim. At their level of Primordial Spirit Cultivation, they would be killed.

Ji Meng shook her head and set the teacup back on the table. "The place he went to might be within the Array Evil God’s territory. If a Seven-Colored Bird enters, it will be detected."

Qing Dai sighed. It was true; they couldn’t hide from the Array Evil God. Once the Seven-Colored Bird found him, it would only spell doom for him.

At this time, Jiang Man and the others had already entered the island.

Along the coast, several ships were docked by crude wooden pier posts. Someone was hunched over, preparing Arrays and Magical Treasures. Others crouched by the ships, tinkering with Demon Beast corpses. The sea breeze blew in, carrying a salty, metallic scent.

Jiang Man and his group weren’t overly curious about this. Along the way, they had gained a rough understanding of the situation here.

The island was divided into the North Island and the South Island. The two sides had different climates and focused on different Cultivation paths. The North Island cultivated the self, while the South Island cultivated Puppets. However, both sides had resources the other desired, so they traded. This required the use of ships.

As for the central mountain range, it was a Forbidden Land of the Immortal Court. They were only responsible for guarding it. Except for specific individuals, no one else was allowed to set foot there, otherwise they would suffer severe punishment.

Additionally, hunting Demon Beasts in the Sea Area provided Cultivation resources, which was why people went out to sea to hunt.

This side was the North Island, which belonged to normal Cultivators.

Gazing at the distant mountain range, Jiang Man asked, "Who guards the Forbidden Land?"

The old man walking beside him replied, "There are two entrances, guarded on each side by one person."

Jiang Man withdrew his gaze and turned to the old man. "We need to go in. Make the arrangements as soon as possible."

The old man was taken aback and spoke with some difficulty. "This... requires a decree. Moreover, we must report to the Immortal Court and have an Immortal approve it..."

Casually taking out a Token, Jiang Man waved it in front of the old man. "See this? The decree is right here.

"As for the approval, that’s simple. Just write out the pass, and I’ll approve it.

"Everything is perfectly in line with regulations."

Shen Yao and the others fell silent, exchanging glances. Was Jiang Man treating this like a game?

However, the old man’s eyes lit up with joy. Nodding repeatedly, he said, "If an Immortal is willing to personally approve it, that couldn’t be better! I’ll draft the application right now."

The three of them were speechless.

This completely shattered their worldview. They had wanted to follow the rules, but they hadn’t expected Jiang Man to just embody the rules himself. They had never seen anything like this before.
