The Enhanced Doctor
Chapter 1428: Health Is Blessing
Chapter 1428: Chapter 1428: Health Is Blessing
Today’s work wasn’t very tiring, but to Liu Banxia it felt somewhat long.
Observing Wang Chao’s surgery in the operating room was actually more tiring than performing surgery himself.
Even though he was just watching from the side, occasionally distracting Wang Chao, the reality is that he had to grasp the surgery process just the same.
Is it tiring? You could say it’s not tiring at all. After all, he was just watching from the side, and he’s well-versed in liver resection surgery.
But is it really not tiring? How could that be possible?
This is Wang Chao’s first high-level surgery, and unexpected bleeding occurred during it, so extra caution was necessary.
Even when he was joking around, he was subtly distracting Wang Chao. This way, Wang Chao could hone his skills, falling into the category of active practice.
As soon as work ended, Liu Banxia rushed out like a rooster, clocking out and running outside.
Everyone is used to it now; this guy talks about his two little babies every day, and whenever he has spare time, he’ll show people their photos.
When he got home, his mom had already prepared a warm meal.
"Yanzi, why do you look so listless?" Liu Banxia asked after sitting down.
"Sigh... I’m still thinking about that friend. She’ll have to rely on injections for life now? We looked it up online, and each injection seems quite pricey," Wang Xiaoyan said.
"That’s right, but let her wait a little longer; the price will gradually drop," Liu Banxia said.
"Initially, one injection cost several thousand, even over ten thousand, but now the price has dropped significantly. You can’t rush these things; it’s all about timing."
"Her current condition is relatively good, at the early onset stage. Following my advice and persisting will bring some improvement."
"But the injection should still be administered, and it’s not just a one-time thing. Her body’s reaction needs to be monitored, which is the currently recommended treatment."
Wang Xiaoyan nodded, "In the past, I didn’t think much of it. Now I realize that wealth and fame are secondary, having a good health is most important."
"Otherwise, what can you do? Without good health, what good is even more money? You still can’t do anything. To keep healthy, I need to strive to live well."
Qiaoqiao rolled her eyes, "You’re just starting. I’m developing some resistance. Otherwise, after hearing him talk about some patients every day, I feel like I have all those illnesses myself."
"It’s quite normal; otherwise when you talk about lipstick or makeup, it gives me a headache too," Liu Banxia said with a laugh.
"Different professions can feel like different worlds; your understanding of the medical field isn’t thorough enough, so sometimes hearing about diseases makes you feel scared."
"I told them then, the high likelihood of disease occurrence means that among people we know or hear about, there’ll definitely be some patients."
"You weren’t concerned about this information before, only about whose makeup looks good or whose lipstick looks good, and that’s a world I can’t navigate."
"Honestly, Yanzi makes a good point; health is indeed very important," Peng Xiuqin chimed in.
"Especially at our age, big and small illnesses line up to come knocking, and our bodies become uncomfortable to varying degrees."
"But you can’t just sacrifice everything for health like they show on TV, banning certain foods. What meaning would life have then? You couldn’t live as you wish."
"Mom, don’t worry. I’m eating and drinking as I should," Qiaoqiao said blissfully.
"That’s right, everything in moderation is good. Yanzi too, your figure is already nice, so no need to fuss over meals," Peng Xiuqin continued.
"Yes, Auntie, rest assured. The meals here are my reward for being a nanny, I must enjoy them," Wang Xiaoyan nodded vigorously.
These were her genuine words, as she never felt alienated within this family.
She’s true friends with Qiaoqiao, who now has a family, but her two little babies can be quite a handful. Qiaoqiao and Peng Xiuqin manage, but an extra helping hand makes it easier.
The two little ones are now familiar with Wang Xiaoyan, though in their little worlds they haven’t quite figured out the situation.
Liu Banxia had a great appetite, and it wasn’t just because the food was tasty. Even just watching his son and daughter while eating plain rice was enough.
The two little ones are lively, their little hands and feet never staying idle. Their little mouths speak advanced baby language that even Qiaoqiao can’t decipher.
After a satisfying meal, Liu Banxia picked up the two little ones and placed them both on the sofa.
The second baby was feeling a bit bored, glanced at him, furrowed her little brows, and let out a big yawn.
"No rush to sleep, we still have to play for a while. You have to coax Daddy to sleep first, then you can sleep," Liu Banxia said while grabbing her little feet.
The second baby’s chubby little feet kicked a few times, and in terms of strength, it was quite strong.
"Hahaha, that’s my girl, this is exactly how it should be," Liu Banxia said delightedly.
"Second baby, let’s ignore him and play with Tang Dou instead," Qiaoqiao teased the second baby.
The second baby waved her little hands, reaching out to grab at Qiaoqiao.
This showed she was very happy now, and since everyone had been caring for her for so long, they were all familiar with her temperament.
The first child’s condition was slightly worse; he wasn’t as lively as the second baby. However, the strength in his little hands and feet was also not small.
He was now grabbing Liu Banxia’s fingers, trying hard to stuff them into his mouth.
"Naughty first child, always thinking about eating. Can’t you just be happy to play for a while like the second baby?" Qiaoqiao poked the first child’s little belly.
The expression on the first child’s face also became blissful, as if he couldn’t tell if Dad and Mom were playing with him.
"Yanzi, I have to nag a bit, you need to focus on your personal matters," Peng Xiuqin said.
"I’m just waiting for these two to help find someone I like. I find if I look myself, I can’t seem to find the right person anymore. Has life become too restless now?" Wang Xiaoyan asked.
"It’s not that life has become restless, but that your mind has settled," Liu Banxia said with a smile.
"This can be considered a life experience. You definitely used to think, ’I’m still young, there’s no rush’. Now that you see we have kids and have gone through certain things, you have grown up."
"Actually, when you think about it, it’s really like this. In serious life, it depends on what you value. Whether it’s living steadily or living grandly."
"Exactly, you should settle down sooner," Qiaoqiao chimed in.
"I’m defeated by you all, you really know how to torment people," Wang Xiaoyan said helplessly.
"By the way, Dr. Liu, is there anything else I need to tell my friend? She was scared leaving and cried in the car for a long time."
"Really, there’s nothing more, just what I said. The most important thing is to try not to let her have too much mental burden; that kind of impact is more terrible than the disease itself."
"After you all left, we chatted a bit. Now the incidence of ankylosing spondylitis is really high, and if intervened early, it really isn’t that bad."
"There will definitely be some pain. This disease can’t be completely cured, but it doesn’t affect the quality of life much. If medicine advances further in a few years, maybe there will be a solution."
"Science is developing so rapidly now, many serious illnesses from the past are now minor. She’s still young, there’s nothing to worry about."
"Do you usually comfort patients like this in the hospital?" Wang Xiaoyan asked curiously.
"Not like this in the hospital; there, we mostly show some concern and might add that health is a blessing and to take care of oneself."
"Actually, during consultations, we try to speak as little as possible. Because you never know which words might be remembered wrongly by the patient and become a complaint."
"Over time, you become more cautious with your words and actions. Everything must follow the rules, even if a disease can be diagnosed by experience, it still needs the support of instrumental examination."
"Regarding your friend’s case, I really don’t think it’s a big deal. Just look at what we see at the emergency center; many cases are more severe than this."
"If you go to the rheumatology department, it’s even more astonishing. There are many patients who have been tormented by the disease for decades."
"Like my mom says, you should just eat happily now and do yoga exercise, that’s pretty good. Physical health is truly important, there’s no need to chase those standard metrics."
"Those metrics are based on samples, but there are individual differences among people, so those metrics can only reflect the situation in a broad sense."
Wang Xiaoyan nodded, now understanding a bit more.
She felt it was such a pity, as if a life was ruined like that, even if it had nothing to do with her yoga teaching. They usually treated each other as sisters.
Then, Liu Banxia was out of the picture. He only needed to be responsible for playing with the two little babies. It didn’t matter who got sleepy while being entertained; that was a success.
Peng Xiuqin, Qiaoqiao, and Wang Xiaoyan, however, had to discuss other issues, which were all sorts of topics, everything imaginable.
