The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 675 - 673: Phil’s Bizarre Adventure
This place is different from outside, and these monsters that are spewed out are certainly not those demons born from pollution.
If Hilia were to come, she wouldn’t know how to deal with them either, but she definitely wouldn’t prepare to instantly kill them like Lanna did.
She would choose to send the magic puppet to test the depth of the monsters first, and then attack them.
However, even with caution, she might suffer greatly like Lanna did.
Luckily, Rose is here.
Hilia looked at the still fearful Lanna, and said calmly, "These are special monsters born from this monster in front of us. They will make those trying to attack them taste the power of their own magic, just like you did earlier. To counter them, either avoid attacking rashly, or use a special life-type magic spell to break their curse."
Hilia retracted the life element floating at her fingertips.
Lanna was still fearful.
The spell she used earlier, even if not a Tier Five Magic, was still quite powerful, aimed at instantly eliminating these bizarre creatures.
Getting caught off guard was enough to trouble a mage of the same tier.
In other words, if Hilia hadn’t cracked it in time, she would have suffered being strangled by countless vines.
Nature magic is renowned for its control, and within that control often hides each mage’s understanding of magic, complementing other spells.
Lanna’s magic style adds the blades of strangling to conventional binding spells, and the flowers birthed by it are a type of magic that traps people in illusions, used to weaken the enemy’s defenses.
"I-I apologize."
Lanna apologized, looking at those slime-like monsters covered in peculiar tentacles, full of dread.
Beside her, Rose laughed, "This elf almost played out elf versus slime."
"What is that?"
"Ahem, nothing at all. Alright, block them using ice element magic; defense magic can’t be reversed by them as it doesn’t have offensive attributes."
"Okay." Hilia nodded and began constructing a V-shaped ice wall, letting these ’slimes’ slide past on both sides without approaching the two.
After seeing ’slimes’ pass by them on both sides without turning around and coming back, disappearing into the outside passage instead, Hilia couldn’t help but be curious.
"What on earth are these?"
When they appeared, Rose only told Hilia the way to deal with these monsters but did not reveal their names, origins, or other information.
"Germs," Rose said.
"Ah? These are germs?" Hilia was stunned.
"Yes, ordinary people inhale airborne germs with each breath and exhale them again. Generally, gods wouldn’t face such issues, not even needing to breathe, but Haroldias, in order to ensure the integrity of his body, allowed his residual lungs to perform respiration, ensuring that upon resurrection, he would have a complete body."
As Rose explained, he reached out and sent a symbol into the lung monster.
Hilia watched, her mouth slightly open, seemingly wanting to say something but remained silent.
After Rose finished, he smiled lightly, "I’m actually helping him; this resurrection method is ultimately somewhat crude. If not careful, it could be invaded by pollution, at which point recovery would be impossible. I’m helping stabilize his physical state."
"Is that so?"
Hilia blinked.
"You’ll find out then, probably, it won’t be long."
Hilia looked to Lanna beside her, also curiously observing the monsters in front, and asked herself:
"Is Lord Haroldias about to awaken?"
"Hmm, go ahead, go find the remaining ’organs’; Phil over there might need my help."
"Alright."
...
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
After Phil emerged from the portal, she saw a peculiar sight.
On one side, the land was withered, vegetation barren, animal bones everywhere.
On the other side, life thrived, vegetation lush, and animal sounds abound.
These two starkly different scenes were stitched together, like one eye seeing life, the other seeing death.
However, when Phil looked down at the area she was standing in, she realized she was on the side representing death.
Faint death elements enveloped her.
She felt no discomfort, instead feeling a hint of warmth.
She paused for a moment, waiting for Hilia.
But after a few minutes, she still hadn’t seen Hilia appear.
She was slightly stunned, "Could it be that only those who hear the voice of the gods can enter?"
She didn’t know that Hilia had gone to another place; she couldn’t help but worry about Hilia, worrying she might not escape the ’encirclement’ of the Elf Race.
She didn’t know what Hilia was doing; she only knew Hilia disguised herself as an elf to ’deceive’. If carelessly exposed, wouldn’t that mean trouble?
Yet now is not the time for concern; she needs to quickly find the divine relic and then go back to help Hilia.
"This should be where Lord Haroldias stores the relics, right? Hmm... where exactly are the relics?"
Although the Life Element Area didn’t make Phil feel uncomfortable, she thought about it and still wanted to check out the Life Element Area.
Divine relics of the life type would surely be more beneficial to the Holy Court and her than death type ones—at least that’s how she saw it.
However, when she tried to cross the boundary between life and death to head to the thriving Life Element Area, she encountered serious obstacles.
She couldn’t cross that boundary line. After attempting for a while, Phil gave up.
She looked into the distance and chose to move forward.
"If I can’t go, it means Lord Haroldias only wants me to obtain death-type relics. In the end, they are all divine relics, so I can’t be greedy."
Phil arrived before a set of animal bones at the front, crouched down, and reached out to touch the bones.
Suddenly, the surroundings changed, and a scene appeared.
"You, why?"
"For the most noble ideals, to escape the constraints of the Star Spirit Tree, to... resolve that most terrifying enemy."
"You think killing me will solve it?"
"No, I wasn’t planning to kill you, just borrowing your body."
"..."
In the blur, Phil could see two people talking, but one of them seemed to be in bad condition.
Both figures were blurry; she couldn’t clearly identify who they were.
Phil suddenly had a feeling, that the figure in a poor state might be the God of Life and Death, Haroldias.
Unfortunately, after hearing only two sentences, the scene disappeared, and the animal bones appeared before her once again.
Phil memorized these conversations, then continued forward to another set of bones, reaching out again.
"My body is not so easily taken; if you disagree, I’d rather perish here."
"Mistakes will occur; those remnants will not be disposed of easily. Why are you so stubborn?"
"What does it have to do with me? Don’t think we don’t know your intentions. Humph, I may have lost, but you shouldn’t expect an easy victory."
"Alright, but I need to borrow your strength to create two vassals to guard this place."
"..."
Phil opened her eyes, feeling confused.
"What on earth are these?"
Just then, a voice appeared in her ear.
"It’s the conversation between Haroldias and another god."
Phil jumped as if startled like a rabbit.
"Ro-Ro-Rose Lord?!"
