Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Welcome to the Monsters camp 1

"Good, then get ready. We are leaving now," the Mayor spoke.

Ronan and the two women were also ready anyways. It wasn’t like they had a huge amount of luggage to carry. They could leave right now and head towards the said camp.

But just then...

Cawwww!!!!

A sound that seemed to cut through one’s soul was heard as everyone trembled, their legs feeling weakened.

An intense gale of heat was felt as the air sizzled as it was burnt.

The sky darkened as the temperature rose, causing people to sweat.

"Is that... our ride?" Sensing the terrifying aura that seemed to cover everywhere, Ronan asked as the Mayor’s face twitched.

Our ride? Really? Can’t you sense that creature is even stronger than me?

A dark giant shadow came from the sky.

"Wait, is that a Phoenix?" Ronan couldn’t help but think as he saw the burning feathers of the creature. A flaming bird could be seen, its full size probably thousands of kilometers or more.

Ronan couldn’t help but imagine who actually owned this creature.

Just then, two trails of light shot out from the shop as Jolan and Asha approached the Phoenix.

Could it be that it belonged to the old man?

Ronan trembled with fear and envy as the creature sensed them and bowed its giant head. They got on it, and then it turned around and shot off, heading to where it came from.

Leaving Ronan, the two women, and the Mayor with their mouths agape.

Their expectations for the old man were refreshed once more. It seemed this man was not simple.

Could he have been a god?

Finally, the bird disappeared as the temperature returned to normal, but the vision wouldn’t seem to leave their minds anytime soon. Not only did Ronan and the rest see it, but Peci and the rest did too, even cities around the area.

---

The Empire...

Capital.

An old man opened his eyes as he looked in a direction.

"A Phoenix, here?" The old man muttered with a frown, but then, sensing the creature had left, he relaxed.

"Whichever expert that was... I am glad he was just passing by," the old man muttered.

---

Meanwhile...

Back at the city, the Mayor, Ronan, and the two women shot into the sky as they headed to the camp.

Flying was always the dream of every man, and being able to fly without mechanical assistance was a dream come true.

Ronan touched the clouds. It was wet, and passing through it wasn’t the best thing, but it had been one thing he always wanted to do, and now he knew one couldn’t also eat a cloud.

Seeing this, the Mayor and the two women laughed. Ronan looked really silly, but he eased the mood as everyone traveled with laughter.

It wasn’t a one-day journey, and they had to stop at different towns, cities, and even kingdoms.

Days passed, then months, as Ronan took this as a chance to see how the Empire looked like while the Mayor smiled.

This was what he wanted. He knew these three adventurers might not have seen how big the Empire was. Even if they had to go out of this city, at most, it was to another city in a far region, but never from one kingdom to another.

Not only did Ronan and the two women go from one kingdom to another, but from kingdoms to another.

It was almost half a year when they reached the capital of the Empire.

If before Ronan thought he had seen luxury, right now it was more than that.

The rare materials nobles dared to use just to cover a few things were used for the ground.

Sky-high buildings, alchemists walking around, adventurers, blacksmiths, healers, and other diverse occupations were present.

Unlike the cities and the Ynvashi Kingdom, where stalls could be found on the pathways, here there were dedicated areas for those. Guards also in gold-plated armor patrolled around, their auras enough to make the trio tremble. Only the Mayor had a relaxed expression.

"This isn’t where we are going," the Mayor spoke with a smile as they headed through another pathway, and before long, they were out of the capital and into a jungle with no end in sight.

They kept moving. Soon, the capital vanished, then the human settlements.

Reaching an open space, the Mayor took to the sky as the trio followed him.

"It might hurt a bit..." Suddenly, the Mayor spoke, and before the three could react—

Bang!

Their vision darkened.

---

A cold wind blew against their faces as Ronan and the women woke up one after the other with intense headaches.

Could it be they were caught?

No. The Mayor didn’t know he was an undead, so it couldn’t be that.

"Where are we?" Yen asked as she also opened her eyes, stunned.

"Huh... sea... cliff... You guys, watch out!" Hesa took a step forward as she crossed her arms.

Boom!

The air compressed and then shattered as an intense shockwave hit the ground, scraping off the top layers.

Hesa was blasted to the back as Yen caught her and Ronan moved.

Crack!

The ground sank beneath his feet as he reached subsonic speed, the air breaking apart.

Getting to the front, he saw a huge creature with two long arms, a five-meter-tall body, and four overgrown fangs. It looked like a monkey, but its back was replaced with a large mouth that seemed to be eating through it.

It had four blue eyes, and its aura was at the Fourth Star of the Sovereign Realm.

Ronan dodged the blow from the creature as his eyes were cold.

Then he jumped, reaching six meters in height, as he swung his leg down like a hammer.

Poh!

The sound was heard as the creature’s head exploded, brain matter splattering on the ground as the huge body fell backward.

Ronan landed calmly as he turned to Hesa.

"Are you okay?" Ronan asked as Hesa gritted her teeth.

Her forearms were swollen. It seemed her bones could have been broken.

"Master, watch out." Yen’s expression changed as she spoke. Hearing this, Ronan instinctively threw a punch.

Bam!

The sound was like a loud gun barrel as Ronan felt the energy travel through his fist to his body and then the ground, causing his two feet to sink in. Meanwhile, a bigger, stronger creature was in front of him, reaching almost eight meters, and it was at the Fifth Star of the Sovereign Realm, like Ronan.

"Grkkk."

They heard roars as more monsters like this came out from the forest, as Ronan and the women were cornered around the cliff.

The ocean was below, with various King Realm auras coming from it, meaning they had only two ways.

To either fight through this monsters or fly away.

But...

Caww!

Like on cue, a giant bird, almost like an airplane, passed by as the intense wind almost lifted the two women.

Its aura was at the Peak of the Sovereign Realm.

This... this seemed like a dead end.
