Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Welcome to the Monsters camp 3

Ronan and the two women headed deep into the forest as their feet were covered in mud and grass.

The trees weren’t scattered like a common forest but seemed to be close together, like snakes wrapped around each other.

Ronan’s heart wasn’t calm as he was always on the lookout. Yes, the two women were already healing, but the injuries were severe, and they couldn’t heal instantly, at least not yet.

The three didn’t know where they were going or where they were supposed to be headed, as they just walked as far as they could, unable to fly, or else the Peak Sovereign Realm bird might pluck them off.

After a few minutes of walking, they finally saw it. An open space, as they walked onto it, sitting on the low grass to rest.

Although being here risked them being seen from the forest by any creature passing by or hunting them, they were willing to take the risk since it was more of a trade-off.

Yeah, they might not be able to see the creature hunting them from the forest, but out here in the open, once it stepped in, they would be able to see it.

Knowing this, they rested while Ronan was on the lookout. He didn’t know if there was somewhere to go or camp through the night, but with only a few minutes remaining, suddenly his expression changed as he sensed more than five Eight-Star Sovereign Realm auras hiding toward them.

Ronan faced the direction. Meanwhile, Yen and Hesa were alerted. The trio were ready for another battle, but...

Humans?

Yeah, they saw six humans walk out of the forest. Their expressions relaxed, as this seemed like a walk in the park to them, and it was.

Not only were they at the Eight-Star Sovereign Realm, but there was also this faint, lingering aura on them that gave Ronan the feeling of facing the General, which meant they could fight potentially fight a Sovereign Realm expert or even more.

The words of the Mayor rang in Ronan’s head as he couldn’t help but remember the camp he talked about.

Could it be?

"Huh... Oh, seems like we found someone far quicker than we thought."

A young male with blacked-out, dark-drawed symbols from his neck to his body spoke.

He wore a rather casual dress. Only Ronan’s expression changed.

This was like modern-day clothing.

He had a brown jacket with a black top and long gray trousers.

Around him, the young men and women wore various modern-day clothes.

"Who are you guys?" Ronan asked as he felt his white skin disappear as he grew weak, so weak he could hardly stand. But he knew if he were to show weakness now without knowing exactly who these people were, they might be in danger.

"Cool stuff... Is that an ability?"

From the side, a man with purple short hair asked. He wore three rings on his finger. He was average in appearance but had a sly smile on his face.

"Heh, he isn’t weak. Five-Star Sovereign Realm being."

"Wait, the women behind him are a bonus? Just their looks are lacking."

"Heh... that is why you have us, although I won’t agree to your advances, but I enjoy the chase."

They spoke, totally ignoring Ronan, who frowned.

"Who..."

Just as Ronan was about to speak once more, the leader that spoke earlier waved his arm as Ronan felt his body was locked in place.

Not only him, but the two women too.

"Don’t worry. We are just like you, heading to the camp. You can tag along. Maybe you will survive," the leader said with a smile as he and his group turned around to leave.

Ronan frowned. It seemed they were heading to the camp too, hence there was no surprise with their strength.

He couldn’t help but glance at the two women. Being injured, if they were to meet the Mawbacks again, then they would most likely be dead.

It seemed this was the only way, so he spoke.

"Let’s go. There will be a better chance of survival if we follow them," Ronan spoke. Although he couldn’t trust them nor know what they were thinking, it would not be wise to stay here.

The two women, of course, understood as they stood up and, with Ronan, followed behind them, albeit a few feet away.

Along the way, entering back into the forest, the group chatted casually like they were not in danger while Ronan and the two women healed as their essences started filling back up.

Ronan couldn’t help but notice how they carried themselves, their aura, their presence as they moved.

Yes, it seemed like they were casual, even free, and could be sneak-attacked, but at the same time, it seemed their bodies were automatically ready for any attack.

"Krkkksss..."

A roar broke through as Ronan’s body tensed up, the same as Hesa and Yen.

They recognized that roar. It was the Mawbacks. They were back as more than a dozen rushed out of the forest.

Ronan was ready to fight, yet the group seemed relaxed as the leader glanced at one of them, who smiled as he spoke.

"Well... I guess it’s my turn."

He spoke as he moved.

It was quiet as a second passed, and Ronan and the two women’s eyes widened.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

Bodies dropped onto the ground one after another as the man appeared, stretching his body.

"That was too short to be a warm-up," he complained as he yawned.

"Idiot, don’t be greedy," another spoke as they laughed and continued moving.

"They..."

Yen’s mouth was left open as she looked at the dead corpses of the Mawbacks.

She could sense Peak Sovereign Realm auras from them.

Was this how strong these people were?

And now they were heading to the camp, where supposedly they would meet more people like this or even people stronger than them.

It was something they didn’t expect.

******

By night, they had already come across more than five different monster attacks. Each one was not weak, and Ronan had to say that if he hadn’t met these people, then he and the women might as well have been dead.

"Will you scout for the night?" Suddenly, a female came to the trio and asked.

"Ah, yes," Ronan replied as she smiled.

"Good. Make yourself useful. Just immediately you sense danger, sound the alert and don’t go playing hero," she finished as she turned to leave.

"Master, she—"

"Leave it," Ronan smiled at Yen. They were right. Emotions apart, they had not done anything for this group and had been carried by them throughout the day.

This was the least they could do, so Ronan and the women arranged for it, but Ronan failed to see Hesa’s expression change.

She had marked the face of that female as they took time watching as the group slept.

Thankfully, the night was calm as the journey resumed. Only this time, they met more and more people as the group soon grew to twenty and was still growing as they met large monster groups and stronger monsters, with these geniuses helping one another.

Of course, Ronan and the rest also saw people in their realm as they nodded to one another.

They had quietly retreated to the back, allowing the stronger fighters to take the lead as they were stunned.

Their ages shouldn’t be far off, yet their strength was something that they couldn’t have imagined before.

Fighting above your realm was common. One could say if you couldn’t do so, then you wouldn’t even be here.

Their abilities were terrifying. For example, the one that locked Ronan’s body—if that happened in a battle, he would be instantly defeated or killed since he couldn’t even move, let alone defend himself.

So this was what a middle-level continent was?

The journey took two more days before they finally arrived at the camp itself.

By this moment, the small group had grown to be more than a hundred in number, and once they arrived, they saw other people coming from different corners of the forest. Large groups like theirs were scarce. Most times, small groups like trios, duos, and even ten-man groups showed up.

What everyone noticed about the solo ones was that some seemed shaken, their eyes lost, as blood could be seen on their fingers and various injuries, which without a doubt meant those they met had died.

This made others reconsider the duos they saw. Probably those people lost their members?

It wasn’t wrong. As people opened up, everyone got to understand what was happening.

Everyone landed on this giant island, where they could be in a trio, duo, or, like most, alone. But as they fought and met monsters, they formed teams that grew.

The fact was, one could not get to this camp alone. After all, King Realm creatures were already at the core. It could be seen that some lone wolves and small groups were the only surviving members after fights with King Realm monsters, but that was only part of it.

There were some people whose auras made everyone’s hearts tremble.

They were alone, yes, but... it was because they didn’t need to team up to survive. These people could single-handedly kill a King Realm monster.

"Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Monster Camp," a calm voice spoke catching everyone’s attention.
