The Fake Son Wants to Live [BL]
Chapter 279 - Interspecies love
Chapter 279: Chapter 279 - Interspecies love
Jian climbed into the open hangar of the Grayling ship, his eyes widening slightly as he took in its enormous interior. The vessel was massive, far larger than any ordinary transport ship, and it had been prepared to carry nearly two hundred Farian warriors who had accompanied his brother. Rows of armored soldiers were already moving about the hangar, checking their weapons and equipment one last time before the ship departed.
Speaking of his brother...
Celaus stood among the warriors in full battle armor, his sword strapped securely at his side and his entire appearance radiating the authority of a crown prince preparing to go to war. His posture was straight, his expression serious, and to anyone who didn’t know him, he looked completely focused on the mission ahead.
But Jian knew better.
Celaus’s eyes kept drifting toward one particular person.
Li Wang.
The human was standing not too far away, casually talking to Eren and Varon as though the two of them weren’t currently trapped in the middle of the most complicated love affair Jian had ever witnessed. Li Wang appeared completely determined to ignore Celaus, even though his stiff posture and the occasional tightening of his expression made it painfully obvious that he was very aware of the prince’s presence.
The whole situation was almost comical.
Li Wang clearly didn’t like the idea of being involved with a man, much less being involved with a man who happened to be Celaus, the crown prince of Farian. And yet, despite all his resistance, Jian could tell that Li Wang was quietly, helplessly pining after him.
Every now and then, Li Wang’s eyes would betray him.
His gaze would flicker toward Celaus for the briefest moment before he quickly looked away, usually with a glare that seemed intended to convince everyone—including himself—that he hadn’t been looking at all.
Celaus, however, noticed every single time.
And every time Li Wang looked away, the faint hope in the prince’s eyes seemed to disappear a little more.
Jian couldn’t help but sigh.
Those two were hopeless.
"Those two’s love affair is not going smoothly," he whispered to Xing Yu, watching as Li Wang once again turned his attention toward Eren and Varon.
"Hmm..."
Xing Yu gave a quiet hum of amusement. He gently placed a hand against Jian’s back and guided him forward, his touch warm and reassuring as they made their way through the busy hangar.
As they walked, several Farian soldiers noticed them.
Their expressions immediately brightened.
One after another, the warriors straightened and greeted them respectfully, their eyes filled with obvious admiration and excitement. Jian wasn’t quite used to receiving that kind of attention yet, but he returned each greeting with a small smile and a polite nod.
Despite the grand status everyone seemed to place upon him, Jian still felt a little awkward about it.
He lowered his voice as they continued walking.
"Yu... Li Wang is human. How can this work between them?" he asked softly, glancing briefly toward the soldiers before looking back at Xing Yu. "I mean, they’re not even the same species."
Xing Yu’s expression remained calm.
"There are technologies for that," he explained in his soft but commanding voice. "A human male cannot carry offspring, but with our advanced technology, we can combine both of their DNA and create an offspring."
Jian’s cheeks immediately turned bright red.
"I... I’m not talking about that."
Xing Yu’s lips curved faintly, clearly amused by his embarrassment.
"I meant the mate thing," Jian quickly clarified, lowering his voice even further. "Celaus is a crown prince, and Li Wang is human. Will people accept him?"
That was what worried him.
Farian society was different from the human world. Celaus wasn’t simply some ordinary man who had fallen in love with someone. He was the crown prince, someone whose future relationship would undoubtedly be watched by the entire kingdom. And Li Wang was an outsider—a human who had somehow become the person Celaus had chosen.
Jian couldn’t help wondering what the Farian people would think.
Would they accept their future king choosing a human mate?
Would the royal family accept him?
Would the warriors standing around them bow their heads in respect now, only to whisper behind Li Wang’s back later?
Xing Yu seemed to understand exactly what was troubling him.
"Royals are considered close to gods in our world," he said simply. "Of course, a god’s choice is irrefutable."
"So... you’re saying no one can oppose Celaus’s choice?"
"Not openly," Xing Yu replied, the faintest hint of amusement appearing in his eyes. "And certainly not if Celaus has truly chosen him."
Jian’s shoulders relaxed slightly.
He looked back toward the others.
Celaus was still watching Li Wang.
And Li Wang, despite pretending otherwise, had once again stolen a glance in the prince’s direction.
Jian almost smiled.
Perhaps there was still hope for those two after all.
Xing Yu continued leading him toward the cockpit, his hand remaining gently against Jian’s back as they moved farther into the ship. Behind them, the soldiers continued preparing for departure, their voices echoing throughout the enormous hangar.
The journey back to their world was about to begin.
And judging by the way Celaus and Li Wang were looking at each other, Jian had a feeling that the trip was going to be far more interesting than anyone had anticipated.
The moment the cockpit doors closed behind them, the noise of the hangar became little more than a distant murmur.
Jian glanced over his shoulder.
The corridor leading to the private quarters was quiet, illuminated by the soft blue lights embedded along the walls. For the first time since boarding the ship, there were no soldiers watching them, no preparations to distract them, and no immediate concerns demanding their attention.
Xing Yu seemed to notice the same thing.
His hand, which had been resting lightly against Jian’s back, slowly slid around his waist.
Jian looked up at him.
"What?"
"Nothing."
There was something in Xing Yu’s voice that made Jian’s cheeks warm.
"You are looking at me strangely."
"Am I?"
"Yes."
Xing Yu’s lips curved into a faint smile. "Perhaps because I haven’t had you alone all day."
Jian’s heart skipped.
He tried to hide his embarrassment by looking away, but Xing Yu gently caught his chin and turned his face back.
"Don’t hide."
"I wasn’t hiding."
"You were."
Jian gave him an offended look. "You’re becoming very annoying."
"And yet you still followed me here."
Before Jian could think of an answer, Xing Yu leaned down and kissed him.
It was gentle at first.
Just a soft press of lips that lasted only a moment, but it was enough to make Jian’s entire body go still. When Xing Yu pulled back, Jian stared at him with wide eyes, his cheeks already flushed.
"I want you all for myself," Xing you whispered softly kissing his eyelids.
