The Fantastic Little Farmer
Chapter 193: A Ruthless Person
Chapter 193: Chapter 193: A Ruthless Person
Hearing this, Zhang Yun was shocked.
He had laid a trap today, only to have the enemy turn it against him. Fortunately, his quick reflexes had allowed him to turn the tables and break their setup.
But listening to the bearded man, it seemed the Donghuang Sect had sent more than just the four of them. Was there someone else providing cover with a gun?
Against enemies wielding knives, Zhang Yun could suppress them with a single firearm. He even had a fair degree of confidence if it came down to hand-to-hand combat. But if the enemy also had a gun and was hiding behind or atop the rocks, killing him would be incredibly easy. It put him in a highly passive position.
While keeping a vigilant eye on the two men in front of him, Zhang Yun quickly scanned his surroundings.
"Is this the Old Qi you’re talking about?" a female voice called out from atop a large boulder behind them.
Zhang Yun exclaimed in surprise, "...You’re actually still alive?"
Qi Luo tossed a man down directly in front of them. It looked like he had been knocked unconscious.
"Were you hoping I’d die?" Qi Luo sneered, leaping down from the rock.
Staring at Old Qi on the ground, the bearded man finally felt true despair.
Even after taking two swords just moments ago, he had still held onto a sliver of confidence, assuming Old Qi was merely waiting for the perfect opportunity to land a fatal blow. As long as Old Qi fired his gun, he could blow Zhang Yun’s head off. Since the Blood Demon Blade had appeared, they still would have completed their mission.
He never expected that Old Qi’s lack of action was because a predator lurking in the shadows had already taken him out!
In her hand, Qi Luo was holding a gun. It was Old Qi’s. This meant there was absolutely zero hope for a comeback!
With Qi Luo providing extra suppressive cover, Zhang Yun immediately stepped forward and plunged the Blood Demon Blade into the bearded man’s body!
Everyone stared in stunned silence.
The guy had already taken two swords, yet Zhang Yun had just stabbed him again without a word?
Zhang Yun felt another trace of scorching heat radiating from the Blood Demon Blade. He recalled that the weapon had absorbed the blood of three people so far. Among them, Liu Yandao’s effect was noticeably weaker. Perhaps the blood was merely a medium, and the blade’s reaction actually depended on the victim’s strength?
Zhang Yun pulled the blade out and stabbed him again!
"Y-You... Just give me a quick death!"
"Explain things to me."
"Go to hell!" The bearded man still had a knife in his hand. He only regretted not stabbing Zhang Yun half to death earlier.
He swung it wildly, but he had little strength left. Every movement tugged at his wounds—he still had swords stuck in his abdomen. He couldn’t harm Zhang Yun in the slightest.
Zhang Yun chose a few different spots and stabbed him again, allowing the Blood Demon Blade to absorb his blood.
"Just you wait!" the bearded man roared. Suddenly, he made a move no one anticipated—he slit his own throat!
His strength was fading, preventing him from striking Zhang Yun, but cutting his own neck was no problem at all.
"Senior Brother!" Aside from the one who was drifting in and out of consciousness from being impaled, the other two disciples screamed.
Zhang Yun didn’t pull out the Blood Demon Blade. Instead, his gaze swept over the remaining men.
"Which one of you wants to explain things?"
"E-Explain what?" one of the kneeling men cried out, his face utterly miserable.
Before they could even figure out what was going on, their senior brother had been forced to commit suicide. If they couldn’t provide an explanation, they might be the next ones getting stabbed!
"What do you mean? I ask you for an explanation, and you want me to explain the definition of an explanation first?" Zhang Yun glared at him.
Qi Luo was somewhat speechless. She had no idea what Zhang Yun was trying to do, but she didn’t undermine him. Instead, she aimed her gun and barked, "Speak!"
"I... I..."
The other man took the initiative to drop to his knees as well. He was a bit quicker on the uptake. "Our Sect is called the Donghuang Sect. It’s an ancient Secret Sect. You killed our master, Huang Tianbi, so our Sect Leader sent us to get revenge..."
"Right, exactly! We came to avenge our master and retrieve the Blood Demon Blade. Actually, we don’t have any personal grudge against you at all. We were just following orders!"
Sensing that the Blood Demon Blade had almost finished absorbing the Energy from the bearded man’s blood, Zhang Yun pulled the weapon out.
"Don’t be afraid. This blade is too long. I’ll swap it for a shorter one!"
He comforted the impaled Donghuang Sect disciple, then swiftly pulled the longsword out of him. Just as blood burst from the wound, he plunged the Blood Demon Blade into it!
"Ahhhh!" the man let out a bloodcurdling scream and instantly fainted.
The two kneeling men trembled uncontrollably. What kind of sick move was that? Swapping it for a shorter blade? How could anyone even come up with such a thing! If they couldn’t stop the bleeding in time, pulling the sword out would only make him die faster!
They both had only one thought: he was making an example out of him!
Old Qi was probably dead too. That meant a third one was about to die. If they didn’t explain things clearly, the two of them would be next!
"Boss! Whatever you want to know, we’ll tell you everything! Even the top secrets of our Donghuang Sect! Please, just tell us what you want!"
"Yeah, we really don’t know what you want us to explain!"
The two men pleaded bitterly, practically on the verge of kowtowing.
"The Blood Demon Blade! How did you know where I live? How did you know I hid the weapon here?" Zhang Yun sneered.
"Y-Yes! You’ve misunderstood; we actually had no idea. It was our senior brother who killed himself just now who knew. Our master wielded the Blood Demon Blade, which is connected to a secret Kung Fu technique. Only our senior brother knew about it; it was never passed down to us."
"He seemed to be able to sense its general location. He was the one giving us all the orders."
Zhang Yun pulled out the blade and stabbed the unconscious man in a different spot. He interrogated the two remaining disciples further, but they knew far too little. He couldn’t extract any secrets about the Blood Demon Blade from them.
"If you don’t know anything, what use is there in keeping you alive?"
If they screamed and fled, the sound of gunshots would travel far. Instead, Zhang Yun swung the blade in a wide arc, slicing both of their throats!
After finishing the deed, he plunged the Blood Demon Blade into their bodies, letting it absorb their blood while they were still warm.
He wondered if, since the Blood Demon Blade’s location could be sensed, their Sect Leader knew about this ability as well. Or perhaps the Sect Leader knew of its value but didn’t know how to control it, which was why he insisted they bring it back?
Earlier, when the bearded man had demanded he throw the Blood Demon Blade over, he had made a motion to cut his own palm. Was he preparing to smear his blood on the hilt the moment he caught it? Was that to enhance the weapon’s effects, or was it a necessary step to control it?
"Are you the assassin here, or am I? I’m realizing you’re quite ruthless. You stab people without hesitation and silence them without batting an eye!"
Even while lost in thought, his hands never stopped pulling out the blade and stabbing the corpses! It was too sick. Qi Luo muttered to herself from the sidelines, maintaining her guard out of fear that this guy would go crazy with bloodlust and silence her too.
Zhang Yun shot her an annoyed glare. "Wasn’t I doing this to save you? You call yourself an assassin, yet your phone got snatched! It got me threatened. I had to bring my own head and the Blood Demon Blade just to exchange for you!"
Qi Luo was slightly surprised, not expecting Zhang Yun to have come for her. "Someone infiltrated, and I chased them here. I ran circles around this park for a long time. They had the numbers advantage, and since my weapons were snatched away by someone, I couldn’t fight them head-on. And my phone dropped—it wasn’t snatched!"
She stepped forward, retrieved her phone from the bodies, and unlocked it. Seeing that Zhang Yun had indeed sent messages and tried to video call her, she finally believed his words.
"At least you have a conscience. It wasn’t a waste for me to protect you! Hey, what are you doing?!"
Qi Luo watched as Zhang Yun, after turning the other two into human sieves, actually walked over and stabbed the guy she had knocked out!
