"What kind of background could I possibly have?"

Carson Flores looked innocently, spreading his hands: "I already told you everything about my background before."

The Thousand Demon Monarch said in a ghostly tone, "With no special background, how can you have two beings akin to a Quasi-Saint serving as your guards?"

Carson sighed and explained seriously, "You’ve misunderstood. Zane was injured and borrowed my magical treasure to hide and heal herself. Since I helped with her healing, she’s willing to aid me. Fellow Ward is aware of this, and I’ve even asked him to help with her treatment."

"As for Theo, he’s just a Starry Sky Magical Beast. Well, his appearance is a bit different because his mother wasn’t one. I’m currently taking him to the Crimson Immortal Domain to find his father, to the Ancestral Territory of Starry Sky Magical Beasts. We’re companions hoping for mutual support in reaching Crimson Immortal Domain, so he protects me merely to ensure I don’t die."

Listening to Carson’s explanation, the Thousand Demon Monarch showed a subtle expression before waving his big hand with a hearty laugh, "Alright, I believe you, brother. I believe what you say!"

Carson helplessly said, "I haven’t deceived you, senior, everything I said is true."

The Thousand Demon Monarch laughed heartily, "I already said I believe you. Don’t call me senior anymore; we hit it off well, and you’ve saved my life. You owe me a great favor, so you are my brother from now on. Whatever you need, just say it, and I, as your elder brother, will surely help!"

Carson smiled, "Isn’t this a bit inappropriate?"

The Thousand Demon Monarch angrily replied, "What’s inappropriate about it? In the Cultivation Realm, relationships are based on sincerity and camaraderie. Comparing ages is pointless; the real bond lies in hearts. Despite your youth, you are quite skilled and helped me out. We are brothers, so don’t belittle me or refuse the honor!"

Carson smiled, "How could I turn down such an honor? It’s my privilege."

The Thousand Demon Monarch, turning his anger into joy, said, "That’s right. I hadn’t even introduced my name. I’m Prydan Warren, you can call me Warren or Brother Warren, even Big Brother Warren if you’d like, just don’t act so distant!"

With those words, Carson naturally didn’t feel comfortable denying anymore. He nodded agreeably, "Alright, I’ll call you Big Brother Warren. Just don’t mind my low skills, as your little brother."

The Thousand Demon Monarch hummed, "Calling your skills low is slapping me in the face. Without your intervention, I’d be crippled and unable to chat here. By the way, who was that person who came earlier?"

Carson replied, "Halvion Ward, the Senior Disciple of True Sage Grand Void from Grand Void Mountain, who had been pursuing the Demon Clan Quasi-Saint, inflicted injuries on him but he managed to escape. This time, the demon might suffer even more."

The Thousand Demon Monarch replied, "It’s him? No wonder. True Sage Grand Void’s prowess is well-known. Though quiet and unassuming, the Senior Brother of Grand Void Mountain has extraordinary combat power."

After a pause, the Thousand Demon Monarch sighed, "It’s a pity I was injured badly by the two combined, otherwise I’d certainly help in the pursuit..."

Carson asked again, "Big Brother Warren, are your injuries serious?"

The Thousand Demon Monarch answered, "The Black Robed Man’s Bone Spur seems made from some special Fierce Beast’s bone and contains a corrosive aura. If I weren’t a Quasi-Saint, the corrosive power alone would have killed me. Yet, fully healing might take centuries."

Carson widened his eyes in shock, "That serious?"

The Thousand Demon Monarch said bitterly, "Quasi-Saints are strong, but when injured, they are equally hard to cure. Wounds from attacks capable of injuring Quasi-Saints aren’t ordinary. This Bone Spur carries an extremely evil aura, hard to deal with. Otherwise, I’d have chased immediately."

Carson comforted him, "Centuries will pass like a blink to a Quasi-Saint. As long as you’re okay, just go into seclusion for a while; time will swiftly flow by."

The Thousand Demon Monarch answered, "Indeed, for Quasi-Saints, centuries do pass swiftly, no big deal. Just missing out on fun with beauties..."

Carson was momentarily at a loss for words, glancing at the mountain turned to ruins, "What about your palace..."

The Thousand Demon Monarch laughed, "The palace is a magical treasure. If I’ve to fight, I’d naturally store it away. As long as I’m alive, they won’t face any harm."

Carson sighed in relief, although the beauties in the palace had nothing to do with him, he didn’t want them involved in this battle.

"Let’s find another spot to rest and wait for Fellow Ward."

"Sure!"

Carson and the Thousand Demon Monarch moved to another place. Warren began healing, while Carson waited quietly.

Regardless of the outcome, Halvion Ward would surely return.

Carson was eager to know whether he could end the threat by eliminating the Black Robed Man.

Days passed as Carson dabbled in Artifact Refining. Suddenly, Halvion Ward returned.

Carson was pleasantly surprised, greeting him, "Fellow Ward!"

Halvion Ward warmly smiled, "Carson, you are truly fortunate to our Bitter Sea Immortal Domain. We previously scoured everywhere for his traces with no result, yet you came across him!"

Carson widened his eyes in anticipation, "How did it go, did you catch him?"

Halvion Ward nodded, "I pursued them while gathering help, and eventually had enough pursuing him. Cornered, the Black Robed Man self-destructed."

Carson’s eyes lit up, "The Black Robed Man is dead?"

Halvion Ward smiled, "Yes, though his Green Ancient Bell’s explosive power injured several Quasi-Saints, he’s been eliminated, ridding us of a major threat."

Carson reminded him, "The Demon Race sent more than just him. He protected many during my detonation in Mist World. Although weaker than him, they still exist."

Halvion Ward replied, "We are aware of this. We consulted Sect Master Jaramillo and Peak Master Darlington about building a Large-scale Transmission Array, focusing on the Array Core, which average Artifact Refiners cannot produce."

"Simultaneously, we are gathering capable Artifact Refiners and declaring worldwide, seeking the demon’s trail. This group hides like rats. Once they emerge, we’ll capture them."

"Though they now scuttle unseen, making them hard to catch, diligent pursuit inevitably brings results. They are around here, cannot always stay hidden."

Carson sighed in relief, smiling, "That’s great, a major affair settled. What about Mordyn Jandric, the Spring God Palace’s traitorous Palace Master?"

"He escaped."

Halvion Ward replied, "Our main target was the Demon Race. While Mordyn Jandric fled separately, we didn’t prioritize him. Eliminating the Demon Race was the primary goal, allowing his escape..."
