The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2887: You Were Guarding Against Me All Along?
The bright flames enveloped Carson Flores, and in the next second, the excitement in Lucindra Lam’s eyes solidified.
Among the flames, Carson Flores stood unharmed, with a calm expression, as if the fierce flames wrapping around him were just non-existent air.
Even more outrageous was that the flames completely enveloped Carson Flores, turning him into a Vespar, yet not only was Carson Flores unharmed, not even his clothes were scorched.
Carson Flores’s cold voice resounded: "You keep calling me your benefactor, yet is this how you treat a benefactor?"
Lucindra Lam, shocked, asked: "Why aren’t you dead?"
Carson Flores sneered: "If I were dead, wouldn’t your purpose have been achieved? If ungrateful beings like you got their wish, wouldn’t I be too unlucky to die?"
Lucindra Lam was momentarily at a loss; she couldn’t figure out what went wrong.
Why can’t I, a Great Land Prime Immortal, kill a Great Land Immortal?
Could my status as a Great Land Prime Immortal be fake?
Inside the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice, Broken Heaven Pathist’s voice was filled with uncertainty: "Why weren’t you injured? Are you a Fire Path Divine Ability Pathist?"
Carson Flores laughed: "You’re not surprised at all by your daughter’s attack, only surprised that I’m unharmed. It seems you’re aware of this matter, huh? You indeed kept your oath by not attacking me directly, having your daughter do the deed instead. Quite a clever plan."
Now that things have come to this stage, it’s meaningless to argue further, Broken Heaven Pathist replied coldly: "The Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice is my Life-bound Magic Treasure; if I gave it to you, how would I survive afterward?"
Carson Flores laughed heartily: "So, bringing you to see your daughter isn’t really a ’last wish,’ but having another agenda, huh? Maybe your daughter has a way to save you?"
By saying "how to survive afterward," he implies he’s not dying as previously claimed, not truly at the brink of death.
Golden light flickered on the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice, and a middle-aged Pathist with a sinister face appeared, revealing the Primordial Spirit of Broken Heaven Pathist.
Broken Heaven Pathist’s Primordial Spirit glowed with golden light, but upon closer inspection, this light was rather dim, and there were gray, dull lines on his Primordial Spirit, like obscure cracks on porcelain.
Broken Heaven Pathist looked at Carson Flores, who remained calm and unflustered, having fended off the attack without fleeing, standing with composure.
What is his reliance?
Broken Heaven Pathist pondered for two seconds: "Since you’ve fended off Lucindra’s attack, we won’t trouble you anymore. Leave as if we never met."
Carson Flores chuckled speechlessly: "I’ve seen fickleness, but never someone turning face with such self-righteousness. Did you forget something?"
Broken Heaven Pathist frowned: "You can’t possibly be thinking of taking the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice still, are you?"
Carson Flores nodded: "That is what I deserve, isn’t it?"
Broken Heaven Pathist sneered: "I indeed took an oath not to attack you, but if my daughter attacked you, it’s not related to me. Do you really think you can withstand it?"
Carson Flores shook his head: "That’s not important. What’s important is that I must obtain what’s rightfully mine."
Broken Heaven Pathist suddenly laughed heartily: "You think I’d hesitate to attack you, or imagine I’m too weak to kill anyone?"
Carson Flores smiled without further words, directly summoning Snow Zane.
You wish to kill me, then I’ll kill you!
If you won’t give, I’ll take it myself.
You vowed not to harm me; I never said I wouldn’t harm you.
We’ll never break a Heavenly Dao vow!
Snow Zane glanced at the chaotic ruins and then at the two opposite figures, smiling brightly: "Showing your true colors now?"
Carson Flores laughed: "Indeed, perhaps he always believed I was a pushover, easy to handle, thus tricked me into bringing him back, thinking it’d be easier to eliminate me afterward."
"His daughter isn’t simple either, ruthless and decisive in killing, quite strategic. Those who mingle in the Spring God Palace are surely not ordinary."
Snow Zane chuckled lightly: "It’s not too bad, right? After all, doesn’t he have a collection of items? He’s not a Quasi-Saint for nothing; probably has quite the collection. Perhaps we might gain something."
Carson Flores shrugged: "Regardless, an Innate Spiritual Treasure is nice, and matches my Fire Attribute Technique, should greatly enhance its power."
Broken Heaven Pathist and Lucindra Lam were dumbfounded.
Who is this, hidden in the tower?
Broken Heaven Pathist warily eyed Snow Zane: "Who are you? Were you prepared for this from the start?"
Snow Zane glanced at Broken Heaven Pathist disdainfully: "According to the plan, we would’ve dragged you out and killed you long ago; then the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice would’ve been ours. The only reason this young guy is being honorable, wanting to gain it openly, avoiding theft..."
