Chapter 2977: Encirclement! Can You Kill Him?

  • Next Chapter

"Taliesin!"

Ivor Compton shouted in despair, rushing forward to support the collapsing Taliesin Compton.

Taliesin’s head drooped powerlessly, his eyes already lifeless, filled with despair and resentment, staring at Ivor as if asking why he didn’t save him.

Alric Compton appeared outside the hall, and upon seeing this scene, his expression turned extremely grim.

He never expected Carson Flores to be so violent, daring to directly kill someone!

Who is this woman, with such formidable strength!

Even though Ivor had barely reached the level of Superior Grade Great Land Prime Immortal, and his power was on the weaker side among Superior Grade Great Land Prime Immortals, he was still a Superior Grade Great Land Prime Immortal!

Yet that woman effortlessly bypassed Ivor and killed Taliesin with ease!

Taliesin himself was a Great Land Prime Immortal, yet before this woman, he had no strength to fight back.

Alric gritted his teeth, turning to look at Carson Flores, "Fellow Flores, isn’t it too disrespectful to openly kill someone without regard for the Compton Family?"

Carson replied calmly, "A person is respected for his exceptional traits; the Compton Family Ancestor bled and fought on the battlefield to earn the family’s honor, and I respect that honor. But if that honor is corrupted, I naturally won’t respect it anymore."

"Since I no longer respect it, does it matter whether I regard it at all?"

Alric was temporarily speechless, as the matter was ultimately Taliesin’s fault.

If you intend to kill, you must be prepared to be killed!

Carson cupped his hands towards Alric, "Before coming, I inquired about the Compton Family. The eldest son’s conduct is praised by everyone. If there’s a chance, I will invite the eldest son for a drink as an apology!"

Alric was a bit at a loss; such an event had never happened before.

Carson was indeed in the right, but he openly killed someone in the Compton Family, killed a Compton disciple, and if I just let him walk away, many might later criticize me.

But the person is dead, the grudge settled; shouldn’t we just move on at this point?

Must we escalate this issue, bring it before the Hall Master, get slapped a couple of times and reprimanded before it ends?

As Alric struggled internally, Ivor Compton had already laid down Taliesin’s body, stood up with bloodshot eyes, glaring at Carson with hatred, "You think you can leave after killing someone!"

Carson stared at Ivor, calmly saying, "I am a person who acts justly, distinguishing between grievances. Taliesin harmed me, so I killed him, settling the score. But if you want to avenge him and strike at me, that’s another matter..."

"Strike?"

Ivor shouted angrily, "Today, I want your life... Where are the Compton Family’s retainers, why haven’t you come out yet!"

Ivor’s voice echoed through the entire Compton estate. Five figures flew out from the back, hovering in mid-air, surrounding everyone in an instant.

Ivor pointed at Carson, "This person came to our Compton Family, killed my son, and treats us as nothing. Retainers, kill him!"

Carson laughed coldly, his right hand opened, and the Demon Summoning Banner appeared in his hand.

As the five strong individuals in the air were about to act, Alric shouted loudly, "Stop!"

The five retainers paused, their eyes turned toward Ivor.

Ivor shouted angrily, "My son is dead, can’t you see? What good are you to the Compton Family, attack, and kill him for me!"

Alric immediately followed with a loud shout, "Stop! The Family Head has commanded, all matters here are under my control... No attacking allowed!"

Ivor turned his furious gaze towards Alric, "Alric! You watch as your seventh brother is killed and do nothing? When did the Compton Family become so weak that we allow others to come and insult us without daring to resist?"

Alric took a deep breath, staring at Ivor, speaking in a deep voice, "Uncle, this matter was Taliesin’s fault initially. Fellow Flores’s actions are justified. If you attack now, it will inevitably trigger a great battle, and all here will be turned to ruins with countless casualties. When the Hall Master holds us accountable, who will bear the responsibility?"

Pausing, Alric continued, "The five retainers are powerful, but do you think they can kill Carson? If they act, won’t unresolved past grudges lead to new ones? Uncle, if you are killed now, won’t it be in vain?"

Ivor’s gaze landed on the Demon Summoning Banner in Carson’s hand, then glanced at Snow Zane, who was beside him with a relaxed demeanor, even smirking as if watching a joke, his angry mind suddenly cleared.

Indeed, even if all five retainers acted together, could they kill him?

Carson’s Demon Summoning Banner contained fifty Great Demons comparable to Great Land Prime Immortals. If he released them all, who knows how much of this place would be destroyed. Then in the end, who would bear the responsibility?

Would the Hall Master support Carson, the favored honoree, or me?

Seeing Ivor calm down, Alric let out a long sigh of relief internally.

If they truly fought, the situation would escalate greatly.

At that point, not only myself but even if the Family Head of the Compton Family came, he would have a headache, and ultimately they might have to rely on the Compton Family Ancestor to personally deal with this matter.

How to handle it?

Plead for mercy with a thick skin?

Even if Carson killed, he was justified.

Once the situation escalates, becomes public, and everyone knows it, is there a need to spell out the outcome?
