Chapter 243: Chapter 243: So They Were Only Fit to Be the Killer Whale’s Toys, Sob!
To successfully rendezvous with Huo An, Liang He didn’t immediately lead the Killer Whales toward the Sea Ship. Instead, she waited in place.
When Huo An and his men found her, she was sitting steadily on the back of the Tiger Whale Baby. Lying in the boat behind her was the Little Tiger Whale.
"Liang He, can we come over?"
As the director of the reserve, Huo An didn’t know much about marine animals, but he knew they were highly vigilant. Thus, he didn’t rashly advance.
It wasn’t until Liang He explained things to Grandma Tiger Whale and the others, confirming that Huo An and his crew posed no threat, that they gradually approached.
"Are they planning to leave with you?"
Standing on the rescue boat, Huo An quietly waited for Liang He, who was sitting on the Tiger Whale Baby’s back, to come closer. He reached out to support her, ready to help her board the boat first.
But Liang He refused.
"Brother Hao, I won’t get on the boat."
Liang He was afraid that if she boarded the boat, the Killer Whales would feel she was abandoning them and lose their sense of security.
"Keep my backpack with you for now, and give it to me when we get back."
Since the Killer Whales had already agreed to bring the Little Tiger Whale back with her, there was no need to feed it medicine right now. She could wait until the Little Tiger Whale had been examined before deciding on a treatment plan.
"I’ll guide them toward the Sea Ship in a bit. You guys follow behind, but don’t get too close."
If she hadn’t been worried they wouldn’t be able to find her, Liang He would have set off long ago. However, she hadn’t expected Cedriel to come along as well.
"Cedriel, be good and follow Brother Hao. Stay safe, okay?"
"AWOO~"
Seeing that Liang He hadn’t ignored him and even cared for him deeply, Cedriel wagged his tail happily. Hearing the Mojin King Tiger’s cutesy, high-pitched whine, the sailors—unlike Huo An and Liang He, who were used to it—all looked as though they desperately wanted to laugh but didn’t dare.
"Alright, we’ll follow you. Contact us anytime if anything happens."
Now that they saw Liang He was safe and sound, Huo An and his men were no longer anxious.
As Liang He rode the Tiger Whale Baby toward the Sea Ship, followed by two adult female Killer Whales pushing a boat carrying the Little Tiger Whale, the sailors still found the sight quite surreal.
"Miss Liang He really is that amazing? She mingled with the Killer Whales in the blink of an eye and even earned their trust?"
In the past, when the sailors scrolled through videos about Liang He, they had found it hard to believe. After all, they frequently interacted with animals themselves, yet they had never witnessed such harmonious and friendly scenes. But now, having seen it with their own eyes—and especially after personally experiencing the ordeal of being attacked by the Tiger Whale Clan—the stark contrast was staggering.
"So we’re only fit to be the Killer Whales’ toys, while Miss Liang He gets to be a human they trust?"
They had to admit, they were a little sour. They were the ones guarding the animals on the sea day and night, after all.
"Alright, cut the chatter and keep up."
A slightly older sailor nudged a few gossiping young men with his elbow, pursing his lips in Huo An’s direction to signal them to stop whispering behind his back. The warned young sailors immediately mimed zipping their lips, indicating they would shut up.
"Huo An, this is Lucas. Have you found Liang He?"
Ao Ke had just found a new walkie-talkie from the equipment room when President Lucas snatched it away. Because of his seniority and prestige, no one dared to fight him for it. Besides, in such a quiet environment, everyone could hear the voice coming from the speaker anyway.
"Yes, we’ve successfully regrouped," Huo An replied over the comms. "She’s bringing three... no, four Killer Whales to the Sea Ship right now."
Even though the Little Tiger Whale was placed on the boat, Huo An silently included it in the count.
"Huh? What did you say? Liang He is bringing Killer Whales? Three or four of them?!"
Having just ended their battle with the Killer Whales, the crowd hadn’t even caught their breath before hearing that Liang He was already mingling with the "enemy whales." This was just too...
Unable to describe how they felt, everyone sighed silently. It did sound like something Liang He would do.
"This is actually a good thing," Lick chimed in. "Wasn’t our original goal to have Liang He build a good relationship with the Killer Whales?"
Lick’s comforting words made sense, so everyone quickly gathered their emotions and continued asking questions.
As Huo An watched the Tiger Whale Mother occasionally use her tail to splash water into the boat, while the Little Tiger Whale looked like it was on its last breath, he generally understood why Liang He had told him to take her backpack.
"Goring, is there a medical scanner on the Sea Ship?"
Based on Huo An’s understanding of Liang He, judging by her actions, she was preparing to bring the Little Tiger Whale back for treatment.
"There is. But why are you asking? Is Liang He injured?!"
It wasn’t Goring’s fault for making a fuss and jumping to conclusions. The current situation simply left too much room for his imagination to run wild.
"No, Liang He is planning to save a Little Tiger Whale."
Huo An briefly broadcasted the scene he was witnessing, specifically describing the friendly interaction between Liang He and the Killer Whales so that the crew wouldn’t be completely shell-shocked when they saw it for themselves. Despite his calm description, Lick and the others couldn’t calm the turbulent emotions in their hearts.
Liang He truly was—super amazing, absolutely incredible!
"Alright, alright, alright! I’ll have someone clear out the medical room immediately!"
It was Goring’s first time encountering such a situation too. Truth be told, he felt an inexplicable sense of excitement and anticipation.
Unfortunately, Huo An quickly poured cold water on his enthusiasm.
"You can’t. You need to move the scanner to the deck. The Killer Whales probably won’t allow the Little Tiger Whale to leave their line of sight."
Through careful observation, Huo An was able to roughly analyze the current situation. The Killer Whales trusting Liang He and allowing her to treat the Little Tiger Whale was one thing, but they wouldn’t necessarily trust anyone else. If the Little Tiger Whale were taken out of the Killer Whales’ sight, it would likely cause an unnecessary misunderstanding, leading the Tiger Whale Clan to attack the Sea Ship once again.
This time it wouldn’t be child’s play; they would probably have to use real weapons.
"I see! Alright, I’ll arrange it right away and move the scanner to the deck!"
Not only that, but Goring actually planned to have someone build a temporary medical room right on the deck! He busied himself with this task, only finishing right when Liang He and the Killer Whales appeared near the Sea Ship in a grand procession.
"Holy crap! Liang He is actually sitting on a Killer Whale’s back?!"
When Huo An was describing the scene earlier, he didn’t mention this at all! They thought Liang He was sitting in the boat with the Little Tiger Whale!
"But if you think about it, the Tiger Whale Mother has to splash water on the Little Tiger Whale from time to time. If Liang He were on the boat, she’d probably get soaked, right?"
Hearing Leila say this, everyone agreed and said no more. Suddenly, they felt their capacity for acceptance had grown stronger. Sure enough, after spending enough time with Liang He, seeing the impossible happen was just normal.
"Liang He! Liang He!"
Standing by the railing, Lick waved at Liang He incessantly. He didn’t forget to use his Light Brain to capture the harmonious scene of a human and Killer Whales right in front of him. Hehe, he’d find a chance to get Liang He’s permission later so he could ride the wave of popularity on the Star Network.
Did this make him Liang He’s head fanboy?
"Alright, stop yelling. It wouldn’t be good if you cause the Killer Whales to misunderstand." Ao Ke clamped a hand over Lick’s mouth in disgust before turning his burning gaze toward Liang He and her entourage. "Though... riding on a Killer Whale’s back across the ocean is undeniably cool."
