Chapter 349: Chapter 349

"I don’t."

Chenyang shook his head decisively, then smiled playfully. "The money for the media is no small sum, but it shouldn’t be enough to put you in a bind, right? You’re the assistant to the famous superstar Lin Jiji, after all. Skimming just a little off the top from him would be more than regular people like us make in several years."

The assistant gave a sad smile. "There were opportunities to skim, but over the past few years, I spent it all on him to make him more famous and so we could get married sooner."

"That’s pretty tragic. You spent your youth and your money raising an ungrateful backstabber like him."

"Yes, that’s why I was hoping you would split the cost with me."

"I won’t split it with you, but I can point you toward a way to make the money."

"What way?"

"You’re Lin Jiji’s assistant. It wouldn’t be hard to make money using his name. You have several hours between now and when we expose him tomorrow. In that time, I don’t think it would be too difficult to earn enough for the media fees."

"Yes, but..."

"But what? Are you still worried about his reputation?"

Meeting Chenyang’s mocking gaze, a strange expression appeared on the assistant’s pretty face.

’Making money off a celebrity’s name would be hard for most people, but for his assistant, it’s easy. All she had to do was grab some of Lin Jiji’s things or a few autographed photos, and fans would be fighting to buy them in minutes. And not just fans, but sponsors and investors, too. Those people were very generous with their money; it wouldn’t be hard to earn over a hundred thousand in just a few hours. However, once Lin Jiji’s scandal breaks tomorrow, these actions would infuriate the fans and businesspeople who spent that money.’

’Of course, their anger would be directed at Lin Jiji. They wouldn’t come after her, since she would be acting in Lin Jiji’s name, after all.’

’Before, she definitely would not have agreed to do this. But now... she hated Lin Jiji to the bone. Since she was going to destroy him anyway, what did one or two more ruinous acts matter?’

At this thought, the assistant nodded. "I understand. I agree to this condition as well."

Chenyang smiled. "This path I’ve laid out, if you do it right, won’t just earn you enough money for the media. It’ll also let you quietly line your own pockets. To be blunt, I’m helping you make money here. So it’s not too much to ask for one more thing, is it?"

The assistant gave a wry smile. "Now that you’ve put it that way, do I have any room to refuse?"

"Hahaha, this condition won’t be unreasonable. For you, it’ll be very easy to handle. But I won’t tell you what it is now. We can talk about it tomorrow after everything is done."

"Fine."

The assistant gave a slight nod. "I’ll add you to the fan groups now and give you permissions."

"Is Lin Jiji in those fan groups?"

"He’s in some of them, but I’m the one who usually manages them. He might not even look at them once in several months, or even half a year."

"Alright. Add me. It would be best if you could make me the group owner. If not, make me an admin—the kind that can kick people and post anything freely."

"Okay!"

As she spoke, the assistant first added Chenyang’s contact information, then immediately added him to several social media fan groups.

After doing all this, she said, "Regarding the media, it’s best to have General Manager Yan help make contact. That way, they’ll take it more seriously."

Yan Rongrong smiled. "No problem. But it’s too late now. I’ll contact them tomorrow morning. It won’t delay anything."

Chenyang thought for a moment. "That works. But the earlier, the better. After all, there’s a lot of dirt on Lin Jiji, and they’ll need time to sort through it."

"Then I’ll call the owner of the media company right now."

"Isn’t it too late for that?"

"Calling her at this hour, she’ll definitely chew me out. But it’s fine. Worst case, I’ll take you over later so she doesn’t feel so screwed."

Hearing this, Chenyang was completely bewildered. "I can understand taking me with you to apologize, but what do you mean, take me so she doesn’t feel ’so screwed’?"

Yan Rongrong gave a playful smile. "That vixen is a wild one. A normal apology won’t satisfy her. Knowing her, if I bring a handsome guy like you over to spend the night, she’ll be thrilled. But she’ll only be happy in her head. After all, if you really did sleep with her, her small frame wouldn’t be able to handle you. Then she’d *really* be screwed, wouldn’t she?"

Screwed...

Screw...ed?

After muttering the word to himself, Chenyang finally understood Yan Rongrong’s hidden meaning.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "We’re dealing with something so serious, and you still manage to connect it to dirty jokes."

Yan Rongrong laughed. "The serious talk is over, so I’m just telling a few jokes to liven things up. Don’t worry, the owner of the media company and I are very close. Forget calling and waking her from a nice dream—even if I kicked down her door while she was having sex and dragged her out, she wouldn’t say a word."
