The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 387
Chapter 387: Chapter 387
When they saw Yan Rongrong suddenly appear, the men sneered, ready to pull the same old trick and keep inciting the crowd to pressure Chenyang.
But when they saw their three companions trailing behind Yan Rongrong, the curses died on their lips, and their expressions turned to panic.
All three of their companions were beaten black and blue. That, combined with their miserable expressions, made it obvious they had been exposed.
As a result, not only did the other agitators instantly fall silent, but Brother Wei, their leader who had been hoping for an easy escape, felt his pupils constrict as a look of anxiety flashed across his face.
Yan Rongrong strode to Chenyang’s side and stared down the man who had been shouting the loudest. "You were so self-righteous a moment ago. Why’d you clam up the second I appeared? Go on, keep talking."
The man’s lips twitched. He looked like he wanted to say something, but ultimately, he remained silent.
"Fine. If you won’t talk, I will."
Yan Rongrong let out a cold laugh, pointed to the three men beside her, and asked the crowd, "You all recognize these three, don’t you?"
"Aren’t those the guys who were with us in the crowd earlier?"
"Whoa, how’d they get so bruised and swollen in the blink of an eye?"
"Hey buddy, who did this to you?"
The confused crowd members asked one after another.
But the three men just hung their heads in despair, utterly silent.
Yan Rongrong smiled. "I’m the one who beat them up. But it wasn’t because they offended me. I did it out of the goodness of my heart—I beat them up for you, you bunch of miserable fools."
The crowd was completely baffled. "For us?"
"That’s right. These guys took money from Lin Jiji to ruin Chenyang’s name. But they couldn’t do it alone, so they duped all of you into coming along. Chenyang was framed and slandered. They brought you here to condemn and criticize an innocent man, which is basically just treating you all like a bunch of idiots. Me? I’ve always had a kind heart. And even though you *are* idiots, I don’t like seeing other people take advantage of you *as* idiots. So, I went ahead and taught them a lesson on your behalf."
After she finished speaking, anger appeared on many of their faces.
If Chenyang truly was innocent and these people really were sent by Lin Jiji, then they would have wanted to beat the thugs up themselves. They would even have felt a flicker of gratitude toward Yan Rongrong for doing it for them.
The problem was, in the process of "helping" them, Yan Rongrong had also thoroughly insulted them.
And to top it off, she’d used the particularly nasty insult, "idiots."
Who could possibly stand for that!
Chenyang was speechless. Looking utterly exasperated, he whispered, "You could have just explained things. Why did you have to go out of your way to insult them all?"
Yan Rongrong replied with a deadpan expression, "First, I insulted them directly, not out of my way. Second, am I wrong? Are they not idiots?"
"I..."
Chenyang grimaced. "A group of people that easily duped... they really are pretty idiotic."
"See? I wasn’t wrong, then." Yan Rongrong shot a playful smile at the crowd. "Don’t get all red in the face. Insulting you is for your own good. I want you to learn your lesson so you don’t get used like idiots again next time."
"Young lady, there’s no need to be so harsh."
"That’s right! If we really were manipulated, that makes us victims, too!"
Yan Rongrong retorted sarcastically, "Chenyang tried speaking nicely to you, but did any of you listen? Since you won’t listen to the nice words, I have to use the harsh ones. And don’t you dare play the victim here. These guys are just a bunch of fucking street punks. Most of you are grown, middle-aged adults. What right do you have to claim you’re victims when you let a few common thugs lead you around by the nose?"
"You..."
The crowd’s faces flushed red, completely shut down by Yan Rongrong’s tirade.
They were furious, but they couldn’t come up with a single good rebuttal.
After all, they were adults with minds of their own. On a normal day, even the most silver-tongued salesperson couldn’t brainwash them. If they really had been played for fools by a few street punks, then being called idiots wasn’t exactly uncalled for.
Of course, all of this hinged on one thing: that they had actually been manipulated.
"Young lady, you need evidence for claims like that."
"That’s right! You keep saying we were duped and used by them. Do you have any proof they’re punks? Do you have any proof they were tricking and inciting us?"
Yan Rongrong laughed coldly. "You want proof? Fine! I’ll give you proof!"
With that, she viciously kicked one of the men beside her. "Tell everyone about your dirty little scheme. And remember, don’t try any funny business, or none of you are walking out of here."
The man was already terrified of Yan Rongrong and didn’t dare pull any tricks. He scrambled forward and, trembling, confessed everything—how Lin Jiji had hired Brother Wei to slander Chenyang, and how Brother Wei had then paid them to help incite the crowd, cause a scene, and ruin Chenyang.
