The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 431
Lin Jiji’s voice was loud as he spoke, but he practically roared the last two sentences.
His goal was to redirect everyone’s attention back to Chenyang.
He knew that after the scandals that had just been exposed, the crowd would never support him the way they had initially.
But he was certain there were still some die-hard fans among them who would be willing to follow him.
People have a herd mentality. If even a small group of fans stood up to continue supporting him now, the onlookers would subconsciously start to think that maybe the online scandals weren’t entirely true. At that point, he wouldn’t even need that many people. If just half the crowd went along with him, he’d achieve his goal in an instant.
Things went just as Lin Jiji had predicted. After hearing him speak, his most devoted, die-hard fans put down their phones and started shouting along with him.
“Yeah! Weren’t we supposed to be holding Chenyang accountable? Why has everyone suddenly turned on our Brother Ji?”
“Holy shit, I almost fell for that old bastard’s trick. Before this bullshit leader, Lin, showed up, everyone was only talking about Chenyang. And they already had ironclad proof for all of it! But after that old bastard appeared, the whole situation changed. First, he deliberately sided with Chenyang. Then, when he realized just talking wasn’t working, he started trying to draw fire onto our Brother Ji. He cooked up all these stories online just to distract everyone. No matter how you look at it, this whole fucking thing stinks of a conspiracy.”
“Hey, now that you mention it, I see it too! These officials were supposed to be here to get justice for the car accident victims, but now it’s turned into a witch hunt against our Brother Ji. They’re obviously trying to divert everyone’s attention, and the reason is clearly to protect Chenyang.”
“Damn, to protect some nobody doctor, he launched a whole smear campaign online to slander Lin Jiji. Don’t you think that guy Lin has some kind of special relationship with Chenyang? Or maybe… maybe Chenyang is his illegitimate son?”
The fans were already skeptical of the online exposés. After all, they had idolized Lin Jiji for a long time. Deep down, they believed he was the perfect idol and could never do such things.
Now, with Lin Jiji guiding them to connect the dots to Chenyang’s situation, they were instantly convinced. Those so-called “exposés” weren’t real at all; they were deliberately fabricated by Lin Yongkun to shield Chenyang.
Spurred on by the fans’ shouts and “analysis,” even the onlookers who had been furious with Lin Jiji began to feel that something was off.
“That’s a good point. If the things they’re saying about Lin Jiji online are true, why expose them now? Why not earlier? Why did they surface at the exact moment Lin Yongkun showed up to defend Chenyang?”
“This feels kind of familiar. A while back, some rich heir got into a huge scandal. But right as netizens started going after him, a random celebrity suddenly had their own scandal blow up. The heir’s trending topic was immediately replaced by the celebrity’s, the public outrage died down, and a few days later, the whole story just vanished.”
“I remember that one. I think that heir killed several people in a car crash. He should have gotten a heavy sentence, but once the story’s hype died down, the whole thing was just dropped.”
“Anyone else might not have the power to use a huge celebrity to bury the story about Chenyang, but Lin Yongkun is a high-ranking official in Yang City. Something like this would be easy for him.”
“They’re right! Our Brother Ji’s scandals were fabricated by Lin Yongkun to protect Chenyang and distract all of us! We can’t let him fool us! We have to get this back on track before the situation spirals completely out of control. Chenyang must face the punishment he deserves and give the victims the justice they’re owed!”
“That’s right! Not only does Chenyang need to be held responsible, but an official like Lin Yongkun, who twists right and wrong for his own selfish ends, must pay a heavy price! He needs to answer for what he’s done to our Brother Ji! If we let this happen, then tomorrow, any one of us could be the next one to suffer this same injustice!”
