Chapter 1394: Chapter 911: Neverending

A fleeting tranquility within the camp did not last long.

Suddenly, a series of deep, continuous rumbles rolled in from the direction of the city walls, like the roars of a giant beast, instantly tearing apart the relative calm.

Followed by deafening explosions, sharp and ear-piercing metal collision sounds, and the sharp buzzing emitted by energy waves.

And the roars and shouts full of bloodlust and murderous intent from countless warriors merged into one.

Clearly piercing the thick fabric of the tent, drilling into the ears of the two.

Even the ground of the tent transmitted slight yet continuous tremors, and the ensuing airwaves swept dust and the scent of sulfur from the gap in the curtain, surging in.

The two exchanged a glance, promptly put down their wine glasses, and quickly stood up and walked out of the tent.

Outside, Commerce Association personnel were nervously yet methodically directing.

Carefully loading boxes of already sorted and packed supplies onto large specialized racks carried by Flying Dragons.

Judging by the piled supplies and the limited carrying capacity of the Flying Dragons, the loading work clearly still needed some time to complete.

As for the battle in the distance.

Sorry, this would not affect their work.

After all, this was the Abyss, where battles with demons occurred everywhere at any time.

Even at the Blood War Fortress, where the frontline was engaged in a blood battle, those in the fortress at the back could still tend to their business, singing and dancing in the tavern.

Because the blood battle never stops, war occurs incessantly.

When not participating in the battle, do your own duties, and avoid overthinking.

When participating, abandon your soul, grip the sword in your hand, and chop the demons in front of you into pieces.

This was the mental tone of these Avengers in the Abyss.

The Elf Captain looked toward the firelight and smoke rising from the distant city walls, his gaze instantly sharpening like a hawk.

He forcefully slapped his chest covered by exquisite armor, emitting a sonorous metal sound, a warlike smile appearing on his face.

"Ha! It seems the battle has reached a boil. Since we’re here, and the loading still needs some time, let’s not just wait around.

"Come on, let’s help you kill a few foolish demons, stretch our muscles."

In the Abyss, one should always participate in battles and wars against demons.

Even if one might die at any moment.

After all, having come here, losing one’s life at any moment should be a psychological preparation already made.

The Night Watcher head hastily waved his hand, his tone with sincere diplomacy.

"How could this be appropriate? You are distinguished guests from afar, trade partners here with sincerity to collect goods, how could we let guests directly participate in our bloody battle here? This is truly against protocol..."

"Hey! My friend, how come today you’re fussier than even the elves who are known for their attention to etiquette?"

The Elf Captain laughed heartily, forcefully slapped the Night Watcher head’s sturdy shoulder, the strength making the latter stagger slightly.

Although elves are indeed fastidious, this was the Abyss Blood Battle Battlefield.

Even the fussiest elf would be trained to be like a Dwarf here.

"Open your eyes and look clearly, this is the Abyss. It’s the Eternal Blood War battlefield.

"Does killing demons require any damned reasons or rules? It’s the sole theme here. The eternal theme. Let’s go, my friend. Let those abyssal scum taste the edge of our blades!"

His voice resonated, filled with the spirit of battle.

No sooner than these words were spoken, the Elf Captain had agilely mounted his most majestic silver-gray Flying Dragon, gripped the heavy reins in one hand, clamped his legs forcefully on the dragon’s flank.

The Flying Dragon let out a loud, soaring cry, its powerful hind legs kicking the ground.

Its huge wings whipped up a storm, carrying its master like an arrow from the bowstring, rushing towards the direction of roaring and shrieking battle cries, flashing energy lights on the city walls, quickly dissolving into the smoke of the battlefield.

The Night Watcher head watched the back of the departing Elf Captain, the touch of helplessly bitter smile on his face was instantly replaced by determination.

He hesitated no longer, swiftly drew the weapon from his waist, shouting to nearby guards "Keep an eye on the goods!".

Then he strode firmly and rapidly towards the direction of the wall defenses, his heavy footsteps clearly audible in the roaring background noise.

...

Beneath the filthy sky of the Abyss, sulfurous smoke was stirred by the violent trembling of the ground.

On the horizon, a wriggling and twisting black line spread at an astonishing speed, followed by an ear-splitting, meaningless chaotic howl.

The demonic tide once more madly crashed against the coarse and ferocious first outer wall of the Blood Pit Fortress.

Though not every day.

But for the guards, it’s not something peculiar, it’s just another demonic attack.

Looking at the black line on the horizon.

Leading the Charge at the forefront were unceasing Inferior Demons and Horned Demons.

They poured out like soldier ants from a breached anthill, small, filthy, eyes burning with the most primitive desire for destruction.

They pushed, bit, even stepped on any comrades obstructing their advance.

These smallest entities, numbering too many to count, formed the most basic demon unit in the Abyss, scarcely even qualifying as cannon fodder.

Yet, even these tiny creatures still exuded madness and a fearless bloodthirsty desire.
