Chapter 409: Ending

  • Next Chapter

The people on the internet had gone crazy.

[What the fuck?!]

[Did they just revive?]

[What kind of ability was that? It was heaven-defying... literally!]

They simply couldn’t believe what was happening. A resurrection ability was simply too overpowered. People could simply charge into battle without having to worry about their lives.

If they dragged their enemies down with them, they could be revived afterward.

If a Rank 7 human used their power to die together with the Rank 7 enemy, the resurrection ability would definitely change everything.

Of course, the resurrection spell wasn’t that perfect either.

"I still can’t move... my body."

"I can only twitch my fingers right now."

The people who had been revived were still in a paralyzed state. Their bodies had died, so their brains had recognized that their bodies were dead, but since the resurrection ability revived them, their brains needed time to process it.

They would be in a weakened state for a while, but it didn’t change the fact that this ability was too overpowered.

All the people in the world who witnessed such a miracle simply dropped their jaws to the floor.

In the America Great Front, people were immediately calling one another.

Obviously, after learning about the power of the angel, they were interested in people like Auric and the other students. They recognized the angel, but they would still need to investigate her abilities first.

After watching this, they still needed to investigate the angel, but their priorities had changed.

"I’m going to provide everything you need, be it manpower or money. Go to the European Union Base right now and find that angel! Use whatever you need to find that angel right now! We need to have her!"

They weren’t the only ones who wanted the angel with the revival battle techniques. In fact, everyone wanted her.

"Go there right now!"

"I don’t care how many of you go there. Find that person. Prioritize that woman over anyone else!"

"Including Auric, Sir?"

"Yes, including him! We can take our time with him. This woman is different. The battle technique that allows you to revive people takes top priority!"

All the focus had shifted from Auric to Natalia, though no one knew that she had already disappeared from this world.

"..." Supervisor Jacob looked around. "This..."

Mr. Green narrowed his eyes. "What should we do?"

"Try to spread out our instructors and find that person. However, I don’t have much hope."

"Really?"

"Yes. This person was able to come here without us noticing. What makes you think she can’t escape right under our noses too?"

"Fair point." Mr. Green nodded in agreement. "I will spread out then. Please watch over the students."

"Yeah."

The battles were ending everywhere.

"Ha... Ha..." Maya couldn’t help but laugh. Her body was covered in blood as the wounds that had been closed earlier reopened.

Her energy was almost empty. She didn’t think she could go for another fight after all this.

However, Head Instructor Ryan was lying in front of her. He had died.

Yeah, she managed to take down a Rank 6 human. Still, she wasn’t exactly happy about this achievement. If not for Natalia’s restoring her condition and Mr. Green having injured him previously, she would be the one to die.

Of course, the original plan was for her to fight him, buying time until Supervisor Jacob or Mr. Green arrived.

That healing ability had just changed the plan. She really wanted to kill one Rank 6 human by herself.

While it wasn’t perfect, she did kill him. Then again, to become a head instructor, one needed to be among the elite even among Rank 6 humans. Having connections was the last requirement to push away other competitors.

So, even though he was injured, Head Instructor Ryan’s strength was still extremely high. Being able to defeat such an opponent made her extraordinary.

"Still, I don’t even know what’s going on with his family." Maya looked up, thinking, ’The son created the Gathering Technique and the Artificial Heart Method as well as possesses multiple elements.

’The mother was so powerful that she could regrow limbs and even resurrect people. Then, what about the father? He had a magic item that possessed a unique element... If I didn’t know any better, I wouldn’t be able to make a connection.

’But his father should be a unique-element user. His rank is not low either, and more importantly, such a person is unregistered.’

Maya shook her head helplessly. She never thought she would end up being a teacher of someone with that kind of background.

’I wonder what will happen if Grandpa knows about all this...’ Maya froze. It was rather obvious what would happen.

He was already pushing her to marry without even knowing about the Sun Store or the Moon Store. So, if he knew everything, there would be no stopping him.

...

In another area, Katarina, Ellia, and Vera had regrouped. They asked where Stella and Auric were and headed there.

"Is it finally over? I don’t think they’re going to continue the competition, right?" Vera asked.

"They will probably cancel it or just end it right here." Katarina nodded in agreement. "They would be insane if they intended to restart the competition. Besides, we have shown enough. The original purpose of this training program is for the beast wave. We’ve repelled it, so..."

"I guess we can finally relax." Vera stretched her arms while yawning. "I’m really exhausted."

Ellia raised her eyebrows when she saw Auric sitting on the ground. He didn’t show any sign of movement, which made her worry.

Ellia couldn’t help but run toward him.

"Ellia?" Vera tried to reach out to her, wondering what was going on.

They followed her and found Auric leaning against the wall, unable to move his body.

"Are you okay?" Ellia bent her knees and asked. "Glo—I mean, Stella. What happened?"

"Nothing happened." Stella shook her head. She didn’t plan to tell them anything about Natalia.

"Auric?! You all right?" Vera frowned. Katarina pointed to the back. "Do you want me to call a healer?"

Auric smiled, reassuring everyone. "I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me. Well, I’m just a bit tired because I’ve pushed myself too hard."

"Is that so?" Vera tilted her head in confusion. She didn’t see any sign of battle here.

"Yeah. It took a toll on my mind. You’ve probably crammed the entire semester of material into your brain in a single night at least once in your life, right?"

"Of course." Vera nodded.

"Yeah. Do it in a few seconds. Your brain will be fried."

Vera blinked a few times in disbelief.

"I still can’t move my body, so I’m just going to stay here for a bit longer. You should tell the instructors that we are fine and see what they’d like to do."

Katarina and Ellia immediately looked at Vera, who felt their gazes. She was dumbfounded and pointed at herself. "Me?"

"Who else?"

"This is outrageous." Vera huffed and started walking. "That’s why you guys are single."

"..." They just looked at each other before chuckling.

In the end, they received the information from Supervisor Jacob. Since the main hotel was destroyed in the attack, they would open all the available hotels so that the students could get some rest free of charge.

It would take some time to reorganize everything, but the event was most likely canceled.

For the time being, they gathered the students in four hotels to wait for further instructions.

"We can finally get some rest." Auric let out a long sigh. "It’s really been a tiring day."

"Indeed. I just want to take a bath and sleep. Wait. I haven’t eaten yet. Should I eat first? Won’t that make me a pig?" Vera sighed.

Ellia shook her head helplessly while sneaking over to Auric with some clothes. "Change?"

"I’m all right." Auric smiled as if nothing happened.

"Is that so?" Ellia nodded in understanding. "Do you want to eat? I can cook something. I don’t think any store is open today."

"I want to eat!"

"Actually..." Stella raised a finger. "Why don’t you guys come with me for a second? I’m planning to leave soon, and we can meet again in Esfrata."

"Oh, right?! You are coming to Esfrata. I guess you will go ahead to avoid any suspicions." Vera snapped her fingers.

"What is your plan?" Katarina asked. "Do you have any plans?"

"I know the route. I should be able to leave in a few hours. Miss Maya has secured everything for me. I will just go to Thunderer City and stay in a hotel until my boss returns." Stella winked playfully.

"Right? You’re working for Auric now. I guess we will meet up from time to time." Vera smiled.

Katarina nodded. "Got it. If you need anything, just send me a message. I’ll arrange it for you."

"Thank you! Now, now. Let’s go!" Stella put her arms around Katarina, Vera, and Ellia to drag them out of the room.

Stella smiled at Auric, as if to tell him to take his time.

He acted as usual so that they wouldn’t worry, but it didn’t mean that what happened earlier hadn’t affected him.

So, she just wanted Auric to have some time alone.

Auric was grateful for her consideration. Once the door clicked shut, Auric closed his eyes.

He never thought that in one day, he would end up losing his mother and finding out that his biological mother was already dead.

Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined that he would lose both of his mothers at the same time.

Now that everyone was gone, the mixed emotions resurfaced. The loneliness started to creep in.

Auric’s back pressed against the door as he gradually slid down to the ground. He just looked up while letting out a long sigh, as Lindwurm patted his back.
