Chapter 801: Stuck In The Throat.
Then Many Eyes chuckled dryly as he said, "Of course, it is not possible for them to be defeated. I don’t know what I was thinking when I thought it could happen."
He even laughed and said, "I am willing to eat my hand if something like that could happen. I am willing to bet half of my Cave Heaven that it isn’t possible. In fact, I am willing to bow down..."
Just as he said that, he saw Monarch Truth and False vet blasted back the way he came. So even though he didn’t have any eyes on his face, his eyeballs still widened in disbelief, and the words he was about to say got stuck in his throat.
As he watched, his disbelief seemed to increase endlessly. This was because both rank 8 cultivators chose to run after a hole was blasted into Monarch Truth and False’s chest.
Apparently, that punch that sent Monarch Truth and False flying had first destroyed his arm before hitting his chest and puncturing it. Then, both rank 8 cultivators made the same decision to run away in defeat without talking about it.
They didn’t talk about it at all, but it looked as if their retreat was planned. The truth was that both leaders were hoping that the other side would be too slow to escape. Unfortunately, both sides were too smart and could recognize an unredeemable situation when they saw it.
Actually, Monarch Truth and False were the first to know that the situation was unfavorable. This was because he was the first to see the thief’s power jump from 104,202,240 units of divine power to 325,632,000.
When he saw this, he didn’t bother to resist at all. He let the thief smash his fist through him and used the momentum of the attack to create some distance between them.
Even as he was sent flying, he was already using all of his power to fly away. He wanted to leave Monarch Shadow Clone in the dust, but she, too, was already on the move when he was blasted back.
Unfortunately for Monarch Shadow Clone, he was twice as strong as her. So even though she was able to make the right decision to run at the same time as he did, she was still left in the dust.
Many Eyes stood frozen in shock as Monarch Truth and False ran like a beaten dog scared for its life, while Monarch Shadow Clone was grabbed and beaten like a slave being punished for stealing. He found what he was seeing very difficult to believe because these two were supposed to be the strongest of his sect.
When he thought about what he was seeing, he said, "In fact, they are the strongest. If they are running for their lives right now, what have I done?"
The pride he felt for orchestrating this meeting melted away as if it were being beaten the way Monarch Shadow Clone was being abused. He could only call this level of physical punishment an abuse because it was too shameful to bear witness to.
He is sure that Monarch Shadow Clone would be ashamed of being trounced like this. But even if she were not ashamed, he felt ashamed for her. He also felt ashamed of his sect.
As he watched with shame and disbelief, he heard Monarch Shadow Clone say, "Let’s talk about this. You can’t kill me. I have too much lifespan to be killed."
"Besides, you don’t need to do this. There is nothing for you to gain by killing me. On the other hand, I am sure we can come to an agreement that will benefit you."
In response, he heard the thief laugh and say, "What do you mean by I won’t gain anything by killing you? That’s wrong. It is very wrong, my dear."
"You may not know, but I have a fetish. The act of beating a big and proud woman like you is a pleasure that nothing can compare to. So why not indulge me and let me beat you to death?"
When Many Eyes saw this, he fell to the ground and sat with his buttocks to the ground in despair. His voice became full of sarcasm as he said, "At least, I know that she came to fight with her true body. She could have come with a clone, but I guess she wanted to be here in the flesh to experience the feeling of being beaten to death."
Then he heard Monarch Shadow Clone say, "This is all a misunderstanding. I was deceived by the seer known as Many Eyes. He told me that you have been telling everyone that I am a thief of worlds. I only came to clear my name. I bear no ill will."
His eyes widened as he heard the thief chuckle and say, "I know about that eyeless freak. You don’t have to worry about him, though. I already have plans for him."
This made him shoot up to his feet and shout, saying, "She is lying. That lying bitch is lying."
"She was the one who went around looking for you. I only told her your location. I didn’t frame you for anything. You can’t believe a word that the deceiver has to say. Truly, a deceiver cannot be trusted."
But no matter how he shouted, Loki didn’t hear his words, so Loki remained ignorant of his side of the argument. Not that Loki cared anyway.
He had left loopholes in their contract specifically so that Many Eyes would rile enemies up and cause him trouble. Now that Many Eyes had done exactly that, he couldn’t blame Many Eyes for whatever method was used to create trouble, even if it meant slandering him.
Besides, even if Many Eyes hadn’t done anything, his time was still numbered. So Loki didn’t care if Monarch Shadow Clone was speaking the truth or not. Especially when she was actively trying to escape even as she was explaining her situation.
