Chapter 840: I’ll Do It.
Having made up his mind, he said to the dragon, "I’ll do it."
The dragon replied, saying, "Good. Now, let’s begin."
As soon as he heard this, the darkness that had been sealing him was torn asunder, and the world beyond was revealed to him. The pain of being eaten alive also went with the darkness, so it was as if he was born anew.
For a while, he lay on the ground, exhaling and inhaling and feeling the weird purple grass beneath him. All of the things he had taken for granted since the first time he saw them when he came to the second heaven now looked like treasures to him.
All the sights, smells, and sounds stimulated him until he felt euphoria. His entire existence rejoiced at being alive and being able to feel things again.
While he was enjoying his freedom, a nonchalant voice came from above him, saying, "You’re smart, so don’t try anything. If I could take you down before, I can do so now. So don’t mess around."
After he heard this, he struggled to stand up from the ground. It was a struggle because his body was still healing from being gnawed to bits earlier.
It took a while before he could stand. When he finally stood up, he bowed and said, "I will cherish this opportunity that you’ve given to me with all my life."
The dragon said somewhat impatiently, "You should. Now get on with it. I am being hunted here. I don’t have a lot of time to waste."
"There are a lot of powerful people in this place who want to tear me apart. You of all people should know about that."
Money Body’s eyes twitched when he heard this. But he quickly did as he was told.
The first step in the plan was to provide a Divine Metac of the Money Pathway. As it happened, he had two Divine Metacs of the Money Pathway just lying about doing nothing.
It wouldn’t hurt him to lose the two of them, so he took one of them and summoned it out of his Cave Heaven. Then he handed it over to the dragon.
The Divine Metac that he brought out was the Forced Exchange Metac. The dragon took it and sent it somewhere.
He couldn’t tell where the Forced Exchange Metac was sent to. All he saw was that it had disappeared from the Dragon’s hand. This got him thinking and speculating.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t keep his thoughts straight because the absence of the Forced Exchange Metac in the core of his Cave Heaven to support it had made him lose a portion of his Cave Heaven.
The sound of his Cave Heaven shattering and separating from his Cave Heaven made it difficult for him to think. And when he could think, all he could think was a little regret that he would die like this.
After a few seconds of waiting and thinking, the Forced Exchange Metac reappeared in the dragon’s hands. But it had changed.
The Forced Exchange Metac was now a large golden crystal. It was a giant thing more than a kilometer across. And it was shining with a golden light that confirmed its identity.
Money Body’s eyes widened in shock when he saw this. He knew to expect this since the dragon had told him that this would happen. But he was still surprised by the sight.
This made him think to himself, ’Since the dragon has delivered on its initial promise, it seems it wasn’t toying with me, and it seemed it didn’t ask for the Divine Metac to fool me into weakening myself. It seems this plan might really work."
The sight of the Divine Position lifted his spirits beyond compare. It increased his confidence in the success of the plan from 0% to 1%.
There are a lot of things he wanted to know about how the Divine Position had come to be. But now was not the moment to ask those questions.
Especially not when the dragon urged him, saying, "Go on. Take it."
He grabbed the Divine Position with both hands and absorbed it into his Cave Heaven through the spatial channel connecting the Cave Heaven to the world.
The sudden appearance of a Divine Position in their Cave Heaven surprised the members of his alliance, to say the least. In fact, it would be an understatement to say that they were surprised. After all, they had been considering the matter of their death when this happened.
They were surprised, befuddled, and afraid. But Money Body had no intention to enlighten them. Especially since they were going to die soon. He didn’t want to waste time on people who would die soon.
He ignored them and pulled the Divine Position into the core of his Cave Heaven. Then he let the Divine Position approach his Life Fire and fuse with it.
As the fusion began, his heart pounded in his chest. His mind churned as he thought, ’It shouldn’t work right? But he said it should work.’
’Anyway, if it doesn’t work and I die, this would be a very expensive joke to play on me. So it won’t be a shame to be killed by this joke.’
This isn’t something he is saying to motivate himself. He truly is ready to die for this. Freedom and power are things worthy of dying for, so he has no problem dying for them.
To be honest, he was 99% sure that this fusion would kill him. After all, his three Divine Positions were from the Four Directions Sect, while this new one was from an unknown source. But against all expectations, the fusion actually went well.
There was no sense of rejection whatsoever, and his Life Fire didn’t try to burn this new Divine Position away. For all intents and purposes, he had simply acquired a fourth Divine Position from the sect.
The fusion had succeeded, so his heart should relax, and he should sigh in relief. But what happened was that his heart began to beat faster.
