Chapter 120: Chapter 120: A Week-Long Parent-Child Activity

At the dining table,

Su Qingci couldn’t stop yawning, shooting a resentful glance at Yin Ruxue from time to time.

Then she glared fiercely at Jiang Fan.

Jiang Fan was completely baffled by her. "If there’s something wrong with your eyes, you should donate them. Why do you keep giving people the side-eye?"

"None of your business! They’re my eyes, and I’ll look at whoever I want."

Su Qingci retorted, not backing down an inch.

"Alright, you two, stop bickering and eat."

"We have to get to work after this."

Yin Ruxue stepped in to play peacemaker.

Although she also thought Su Qingci was being strange, she still sided with her.

Jiang Fan huffed coldly and ignored them.

"Mengmeng, hurry and eat. Daddy will take you to school when you’re done."

After polishing off the fried egg in his bowl in two quick bites, Jiang Fan stood up, stroked Mengmeng’s hair, and spoke.

"Okay, Daddy. Can you do Mengmeng’s hair?"

"I don’t think today’s style is very pretty."

Mengmeng pouted, looking at Jiang Fan expectantly.

"PFFT."

He couldn’t help but burst out laughing, because Su Qingci was the one who had done Mengmeng’s hair that morning.

It wasn’t that it looked bad, but Su Qingci preferred a simple style—a high ponytail solved everything.

So naturally, that’s how she’d done Mengmeng’s hair too.

But before, Yin Ruxue used to give her a very cute little hairstyle every morning, which she had always enjoyed showing off at school.

She was naturally unwilling to go back to such a plain and simple look.

What little kid doesn’t want attention from their classmates or the envious gazes of their friends?

"Okay, you hurry and finish eating. Daddy will do your hair when you’re done."

Jiang Fan readily agreed.

Su Qingci kept her head down, chewing on the fried egg in her bowl while glaring fiercely at Jiang Fan’s back.

It was as if the fried egg in her bowl were a piece of his flesh.

Watching this scene, Yin Ruxue felt a massive headache coming on.

She’d never felt like this before, not even when negotiating with major corporations or battling wits with rival companies.

She finally understood what it meant to be emotionally exhausted.

After breakfast, Jiang Fan did Mengmeng’s hair in a cute style.

Two small pigtails, one on each side, stuck straight up, perfectly complementing her delicate, porcelain-doll face and festive red outfit.

She looked adorable from every angle.

Shouldering her schoolbag, Jiang Fan brought Mengmeng to school and handed her off to her teacher.

He had just turned to leave when the teacher called out to him.

"Mengmeng’s dad, our school is planning to hold a large-scale parent-child event."

"Would you be able to attend?"

A very young-looking teacher asked, gazing at Jiang Fan with anticipation.

"A parent-child event? The kind a dad has to attend?"

Jiang Fan was curious; he’d never experienced anything like this before.

"It’s different from our usual parent-child events. This time, we need both parents to participate."

"The event will also take place over a longer period than usual. It’s designed to encourage children’s curiosity about the world and their ability to cooperate with their parents."

"It’s a very effective way to strengthen the parent-child bond."

Jiang Fan stroked his chin and fell into thought. To be honest, he was a little hesitant.

"Don’t worry, Mengmeng’s dad, this event is completely free. There will be a series of activities like arts and crafts, painting, games, and outdoor camping..."

"Some of the activities require a father’s presence for the child to get the most enjoyment out of them."

The young female teacher gave Jiang Fan a general overview.

Hearing this, an image of Mengmeng’s sweet and lovely smiling face appeared in Jiang Fan’s mind.

A smile unconsciously graced his lips.

"Alright, I’ll go home and discuss it."

However, he didn’t agree rashly. It was best to ask for Yin Ruxue’s opinion on something like this.

After all, she ran an entire company and could be extremely busy; he was afraid she wouldn’t be able to make time for it.

If he agreed on her behalf and she couldn’t get away, he would be the one to suffer the consequences.

"Alright then, Mengmeng’s dad. We’ll be in touch by phone."

The young teacher extended her hand to Jiang Fan. They shook hands, and then she returned to the school.

By the time he sauntered into the office, it was already 10:30 AM.

He had expected Li Muwan to scold him a little, but she didn’t even acknowledge him.

Even Sun Yanzi and the others were rushing around, insanely busy.

It seemed like he was the only idle person in the entire company.

Sitting on Li Muwan’s large sofa, Jiang Fan played on his phone, bored out of his mind.

"So boring."

Jiang Fan stretched, walked right out of the office, and went to see Yin Ruxue.

Jiang Fan’s sudden visit surprised her a little.

He normally would never come to her office unless she called for him.

Meeting her slightly surprised gaze, Jiang Fan repeated what the teacher had told him that morning.

"A week-long parent-child event? Why is it so long?"

"When does it start? Did you ask?"

Yin Ruxue asked after a moment of thought.

Jiang Fan blinked and shook his head innocently. "I didn’t ask... and she didn’t say."

"Then for this event, the other activities are probably just filler. The outdoor camping must be the main part. Where is it located?"

Seeing Jiang Fan’s clueless expression, Yin Ruxue really wanted to facepalm and sigh.

"You didn’t ask a single thing, and you were ready to agree?"

"Forget it. I’ll ask about it and let you know."

"You got it."

Without a shred of hesitation, he turned and left.

This made Yin Ruxue roll her eyes. Anyone who didn’t know better would think some kind of monster was sitting in her office.

However, the information in front of her forced her to focus all her attention on work. She would think about other matters later when she had time.

After wandering around the office for a bit, Jiang Fan went over to Sun Yanzi’s desk.

"Yanzi, what are you all so busy with?"

"Why does everyone look like they’re facing a major crisis?"

He casually grabbed a pack of Two Squirrels snacks from her desk, stuffed some in his mouth, and mumbled the question.

"You don’t know?"

Sun Yanzi turned her head to look at him.

"What? What am I supposed to know?"

Honestly, Jiang Fan was stunned for a moment.

"Because the promotion we ran before was so successful, our orders have multiplied."

"And as we get bigger and stronger, other people naturally get jealous."

"So now they’re trying to sabotage us behind the scenes."

"There’s a problem with our material supplier, and on top of that, our competitors are trying to crush us. We’re insanely busy, and it’s a huge headache."

"If nothing changes, we’ll probably have to work overtime for the next few days."

Jiang Fan nodded thoughtfully.

"By the way, I won’t be coming home tonight. If you go back, there’s soup for you in the kitchen."
