Chapter 127: Chapter 127: A Dance for Dad

Although Sun Yanzi had been married for a few years, they were a couple in name only.

Other than the marriage certificate, nothing of any real substance had ever happened between them.

They were essentially living separate lives.

She was a young woman, still a virgin, and now she had to take off her pants in front of a young man and let him hold a bedpan for her.

The whole thing was just mortifying, no matter how she thought about it.

But seeing Sun Yanzi’s condition, Jiang Fan couldn’t worry about such things.

He pulled the curtain shut and locked the door to the hospital room.

He gently lifted the blanket from the foot of the bed, then pulled down her hospital pants.

Fortunately, the hospital pants were very loose and came down with a gentle tug.

Jiang Fan took a deep breath, forcing his hands not to tremble and desperately suppressing the turmoil in his heart.

After pulling down her underwear, Jiang Fan positioned the bedpan, then turned away and said softly, "Okay."

Sun Yanzi just hummed softly in response.

A moment later, the sound of a trickle began.

It continued for a long time before gradually fading away.

Now that they had gotten this far, Jiang Fan actually felt a little more at ease.

He picked up the tissues beside her, wiped her clean, and then pulled her pants back up.

Though Sun Yanzi was incredibly shy, she felt sweet inside.

After taking care of everything, Jiang Fan adjusted the position of her bed, then charged her phone and placed it in her hands.

Then he poured some mineral water to moisten her lips.

By the time he had finished everything, Rong Anyao had returned.

"Yaoyao, I’m leaving her with you. Remember, you can stuff your own face with those snacks, but whatever you do, don’t let her have any."

Jiang Fan reminded her.

"Don’t worry, I’ve got it under control. You go on and get busy."

Rong Anyao waved at Jiang Fan.

With a sigh, Jiang Fan grabbed his phone and keys and rushed out of the hospital room.

Once in the car, Jiang Fan rubbed his temples, then floored the accelerator and sped straight toward Mengmeng’s school.

’So much time has passed. By the time I get there, will I even make it?’

With this anxious thought fueling him, he pushed the car to its top speed.

Meanwhile, at the school, the talent show had already begun.

One by one, children went on stage to display all sorts of talents.

The students who attended this school came from rich or influential families; money was no object for any of them.

As a result, there was piano, violin, traditional dance, street dance, drum solos...

But given their young age, the performances were about what you’d expect.

The adults in the audience only paid close attention when their own child was on stage. For the other kids, they would offer a comment or two at most.

As a result, the atmosphere had been lukewarm the entire time.

It was no use, even with the teacher hosting the event constantly trying to liven things up.

"Next up is our school’s grand finale!"

"Little Yin Mengmeng will be performing a dance for us called ’Sprite Under the Moonlight’!"

"We hear that little Yin Mengmeng has been practicing this piece for over two months just for today’s performance!"

"I’m sure she won’t disappoint!"

Standing on stage, Mengmeng scanned her surroundings, searching for that one special person.

But after searching the entire audience, she only found her mother.

The seat beside her mother was still empty.

"Alright, let the performance begin! Let’s give her a big round of applause!"

As the applause and music began, Mengmeng gradually got into character.

She moved like a sprite, her graceful dance a stroll beneath the moonlight.

She was elegant and nimble, yet full of life.

The dance even seemed to contain a hidden meaning.

The initial movements conveyed a character’s journey from timid and fearful to bold and passionate upon finally seeing the moonlight.

It had to be said, Mengmeng’s fundamental dance skills were excellent. To be able to dance like that at such a young age was beyond what most people had expected.

The once-noisy audience had fallen silent, holding their breath as they stared intently at the figure on stage.

As the music faded and the dance concluded, Mengmeng gave a respectful bow to the audience.

The moment she looked up, she saw a familiar figure.

He was standing there, smiling at her and applauding with all his might.

"Daddy!!!"

Mengmeng shouted with all her might.

Her voice was a mix of sorrow, excitement, and longing.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Fan rushed forward and swept Mengmeng into his arms.

He had actually arrived the moment her dance began.

He had just been afraid of distracting her, so he watched from a distance, only coming forward after she had finished.

"Daddy, you’re finally here! Mengmeng thought you didn’t want me anymore."

Mengmeng buried her face in Jiang Fan’s arms and began to bawl.

"What are you talking about? How could Daddy ever not want you?"

"I was just so busy today that I had Mommy bring you here first."

"See? The second I was free, I came right over, didn’t I?"

"There now, don’t cry. You won’t look pretty anymore, and all the other kids are watching."

Jiang Fan took out a tissue and gently wiped away her tears, stroking her hair.

"They wouldn’t dare laugh at me! If anyone laughs, I’ll punch them!"

Mengmeng, her voice still thick with tears, broke into a smile and even brandished her little fists.

"Alright, alright. Our little boss lady needs to get off the stage now."

Jiang Fan chuckled and tapped her on the nose.

"Okay! Daddy, you wait for me right here. I’ll go change and come right back. You can’t leave, okay?"

Mengmeng was now anxious that Jiang Fan might suddenly leave.

"Don’t worry, Daddy’s not going anywhere."

Only after he gave her a reassuring look did Mengmeng run backstage. She changed her clothes as fast as she could and then rushed back out.

Seeing her daddy and mommy standing there together, the knot of anxiety in her chest finally loosened.

Jiang Fan swept her up into his arms. "Mengmeng, what should we do now?"

"Now? I think there are lots of games we can choose from."

"We can play whichever one we like, and there are all sorts of competitions, too."

"If we win a competition, we can get points, and then we can trade them for lots and lots of stuff!"

"Really? Is there anything you’d like to get, Mengmeng?"
