The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 155: Rare
Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Rare
Right now, Yin Ruxue really wanted to tear Jiang Fan’s mouth to shreds.
How dare he lecture her.
But looking at the firmly shut door, she was helpless. All she could do was sit on the sofa and stew in her anger.
’I can’t just have someone pick the lock and break down the door, can I?’
’It would scare the child.’
Although she was furious about what had happened, her love for Mengmeng hadn’t diminished in the slightest.
She certainly didn’t want anything to happen to her child.
After more than half an hour, her anger had subsided.
Her gaze drifted to the large pile of boxes.
Custom logos... The Yufan Team only designed a handful each year.
Perhaps only four or five pieces in total.
Each design had its own exclusive logo.
But now, she was looking at two different designs. Jiang Fan might not understand, but she knew exactly what this meant.
They could have made a fortune with these items, yet they had been given to them as gifts.
As far as she knew, the Yuefan Group hadn’t released a single product with a custom logo this year.
And it was already late September, almost October.
The year was almost over, and they hadn’t released a single one.
One could only imagine how valuable these were.
But Jiang Fan, that clueless fool, hadn’t considered any of this.
’This means we owe them a huge favor, one far greater than if we’d simply bought the items with money.’
’Especially since our companies are currently partners.’
’When the time comes for me to negotiate a lower price, will they agree?’
’Forget whether they’d agree—would I even have the nerve to ask?’
Yin Ruxue’s head throbbed at the thought.
But Jiang Fan was genuinely trying to do what was best for Mengmeng. The two of them just had a conflict when it came to their parenting philosophies.
They could argue, but she couldn’t bring herself to truly reprimand him.
Just then, Nanny Chen walked over.
She was shocked to see Yin Ruxue’s expression.
Aside from that one time with a certain man, she had never seen Yin Ruxue lose her temper like this.
In the past, no matter how big the problem, she was always calm and collected, able to handle everything perfectly.
"Miss, about these things..." Nanny Chen asked tentatively.
"Take them to be washed. Remember to do it by hand. Don’t ruin them."
In the end, she relented.
’What’s done is done. What else can I do?’
’I’ll just have to find a way to make up for it later.’
Meanwhile, Jiang Fan was in the room, comforting Mengmeng.
The little girl’s face was streaked with tears, convinced she had done something wrong.
Yin Ruxue’s previous parenting philosophy had been, to put it mildly, somewhat misguided.
Jiang Fan couldn’t understand it at all. Why should she have to wait for someone else to hit her before she hit back?
Wouldn’t she just be taking a beating for no reason? Even if she retaliated later, she’d still have been hit.
Why should she have to endure everything and be the bigger person?
It wasn’t that being magnanimous was bad, but you had to consider the situation and the timing, right?
You can’t back down from everything. That’s just being a weak-willed pushover.
He couldn’t even imagine how much the little girl must have suffered at school, unable to say a word about it when she got home.
After all, she’d probably just get a scolding.
Yin Ruxue was an undisputed genius when it came to business, but in the realm of parenting, Jiang Fan wanted to knock her block off.
For now, all he could do was hold Mengmeng in his arms and comfort her in a soft voice.
He waited until her emotions had settled before he spoke.
"Daddy, was I really wrong?"
Mengmeng looked up at Jiang Fan, her eyes brimming with tears.
"No."
This time, Jiang Fan’s answer was firm.
"Not only were you not wrong, Mengmeng, you were amazing."
"Let me tell you something, Daddy’s rule is that our safety always comes first."
"If another kid tries to hit you, you can hit them right back. Don’t just stand there and take it. But if they have a weapon in their hand, you run."
"Once you get help, then you find a chance to give him a beating."
"We can’t let them get away with it, understand?"
"Huh?"
Mengmeng hadn’t expected her daddy to say something like that.
"We don’t start trouble, but we aren’t afraid of it either. No matter what happens, Mommy and Daddy are here for you."
"The reason your mommy told you that is because she’s afraid of you getting hurt. She just worries about you too much."
"There’s a saying: ’worry clouds your judgment.’ Do you get it?"
Mengmeng obediently shook her head.
Jiang Fan chuckled. "You’ll understand when you’re older, Mengmeng."
"Come in, the door isn’t locked," Jiang Fan said calmly, facing the door.
The next second, Yin Ruxue pushed the door open and walked in.
"I was just passing by, not eavesdropping!" Yin Ruxue said stubbornly, her face flushing.
"Yes, yes, I know. A person of your stature wouldn’t stoop to eavesdropping."
Jiang Fan suppressed a laugh. The truth was, Yin Ruxue had been standing quietly outside the door ever since Mengmeng had calmed down.
He just hadn’t called her out on it.
Yin Ruxue ground her teeth in frustration. She had caught the glint of amusement in the depths of Jiang Fan’s eyes.
’How dare this guy laugh at me.’
"You heard what I just told Mengmeng, right?"
Jiang Fan ignored her inner turmoil and asked directly.
"I heard, but..."
She was about to say something stubborn, but Jiang Fan cut her off.
"That parenting style of yours is incredibly harmful to a child, even if you don’t see it. Once her personality is set, traits like being withdrawn, timid, introverted, and having low self-esteem will follow her for the rest of her life."
"Is that what you want for Mengmeng’s future?"
That one question plunged Yin Ruxue into silence.
’Did she want that? Of course not!’
As a company CEO, she knew all too well what a huge impact such a personality could have on a person’s life.
It was something that could affect them for the rest of their life.
If Mengmeng really did develop that kind of personality because of her parenting, she would never be able to forgive herself.
"The main reason I’m telling you this isn’t to force my opinion on you. It’s because I feel that when it comes to raising a child, both parents have a responsibility to adjust their methods."
"It’s something we need to discuss and agree on. We both want what’s best for our child."
In that moment, Jiang Fan seemed like a true father to Mengmeng, thinking of her with all his heart.
Hearing his words, Yin Ruxue’s expression softened for a moment.
The more time she spent with Jiang Fan, the more she felt he was like a fine aged wine—he only got better with time.
But given her personality, she would never let on that she was smitten. She could only force a calm expression and say, "Fine. I understand. I’ll take your opinions into consideration from now on."
"Nanny Chen has dinner ready. Let’s go eat."
"Alright!"
Without a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Fan scooped Mengmeng up into his arms. The weight on his heart finally lifted.
