Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Negotiation

"Don’t just lie on the ground playing dead! Get that bunch of pigs in here for a meeting! If this isn’t resolved properly, I’ll fucking replace every last one of you!"

Li Fengming roared.

Like a startled wild boar, the terrified vice president scrambled up from the floor, stumbling and crawling as he bolted out the door and ran for the meeting room.

Li Fengming stared out the window at the brightly lit Xuerong Group building in the distance. The more he thought, the angrier he became, until he felt he couldn’t stand it anymore.

Especially when he pictured Jiang Fan’s smug, triumphant expression.

’Yin Ruxue is probably lying in his arms right now, telling him how incredible he is, showering him with admiration!’

"AAAAARGH! Jiang Fan, I’ll see you dead!"

Li Fengming slammed the cigar box in his hand onto the floor.

His roar terrified the executives waiting outside.

But there was no other choice; they had to go in.

Once inside, they all stood there obediently, staring at the floor, trying to make themselves invisible.

"Don’t just stand there like fucking corpses! Give me a solution, right now!"

"Find a way to win back our market share in the Celestial Dragon District with minimal losses, and get our shares back from that woman, Yin Ruxue!"

The more Li Fengming spoke, the angrier he became.

If not for the fact that firing them all at once would cause immense turmoil within the company—not to mention that many of them held company stock—he would have kicked every last one of them out the door.

"President Li, I know you’re anxious, but first, you need to calm down."

"The top priority right now is getting back that 15% of our shares."

"If those shares remain in the hands of the Xuerong Group, it will be extremely disadvantageous for us."

A white-haired old man stepped forward.

He was a founding member of the Fengming Group, having been with Li Fengming’s father since he built the company from the ground up.

He also held 3% of the Fengming Group’s stock.

Therefore, his words carried the most weight in the room. Even Li Fengming had to show him some respect.

"We need to solve the current problem first, *then* get the shares back!!!"

Li Fengming said, forcibly suppressing his frustration.

"Don’t you already have the answer to solving the problem?"

The old man’s words made everyone stare at him, especially that pig of a vice president who had just been beaten; he was trembling all over.

Having worked together for so many years, everyone knew exactly what kind of man this old-timer was.

It wasn’t that they didn’t know the solution; it was that no one dared to say it. It was too offensive to a colleague, but staying silent could also get them burned.

"Everything was this pig’s idea. He’s the one who carried it out in secret."

"Hand him over. Then, recall all the products and issue compensation."

"No matter what, the apology must be sincere and resolute."

"We absolutely cannot give them any opportunity to use this against us."

After he finished speaking, the entire office fell silent.

"What about the shares?"

Li Fengming asked slowly after a long pause.

When the others heard his question, they knew: that pig of an executive had just been sentenced to death.

He knew it too. His face went ashen, and he collapsed onto the floor, his body trembling uncontrollably.

"Negotiate to buy back our shares at a high price. We lost this round."

Li Fengming let out a long, heavy breath. "Alright, do as you said. I’ll handle the negotiations myself. I’m leaving the rest to you."

"You must minimize the impact of this incident."

"And keep the losses to an absolute minimum."

But as he said this, a wave of bitterness washed over him.

How much had he invested in the Celestial Dragon District? Only he knew the steep price he had paid in concessions to partner with those other corporations.

Now that it had all been snatched away in an instant, all he could do was swallow his pride and suffer in silence.

He was a man who prized profit above all. He had only made his move after seeing a glimmer of victory and performing countless calculations.

Everything had been proceeding according to his plan, but he never expected Jiang Fan to pop up out of nowhere.

Not only had he disrupted all his plans, but he had also caused him to stumble badly, slapping him hard across the face.

This kind of crushing defeat in the business world was more painful to him than any physical torment.

...

「The next morning」

Fengming Group split into two teams. One went to handle the fallout, while the other went to arrange a meeting with Yin Ruxue.

But Yin Ruxue, who was normally punctual, was a full two hours late this time.

Jiang Fan was with her, and the two of them were talking and laughing.

Seeing this, Li Fengming clenched his jaw. How could he not know? This was clearly a power play intended to intimidate him.

It was a trick he himself often used.

But now, with his back against the wall, he had no choice but to bow his head. The most urgent task was to get back that 15% of the Fengming Group’s stock, no matter what.

"President Yin, you’ve arrived. Quite the move."

Li Fengming forced a smile and stood up. ℯℯ𝘭.

Watching from the side, Jiang Fan gave a disdainful smirk.

’His composure isn’t all that great.’

’Aren’t people who’ve weathered the storms of the business world for years supposed to be like old foxes, never letting their emotions show?’

Jiang Fan casually pulled up a chair and sat down.

Yin Ruxue simply gave him a slight nod and also took a seat.

"I wonder what President Li wanted to see me about?"

Yin Ruxue said calmly, her eyes fixed on the coffee in front of her.

He let out a sharp breath.

Li Fengming took two deep breaths, suppressing his emotions.

"It’s like this. President Yin, you’ve acquired 15% of our group’s shares. I’d like to buy them back from you."

"Just name your price."

Li Fengming cut straight to the chase. He really couldn’t stand the sight of these two anymore.

He wasn’t sure why, but they just seemed sickeningly chummy.

"Eight hundred million."

Jiang Fan said lightly.

"Eight hundred million? Why don’t you just go rob a bank????"

Li Fengming’s eyes widened. He shot up from his chair and pointed a finger at Jiang Fan.

"Robbery isn’t this fast, is it?"

"Don’t get so worked up. Sit down. A negotiation is all about making an outrageous opening offer and then haggling it down."

"Five hundred million. I can wire the cash immediately. You sign the share transfer agreement."

"How about it?"

"Oh, no can do. Eight hundred million!"
