The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 21: A Slap for the Past
Chapter 21: Chapter 21: A Slap for the Past
A man with such a severe yin-yang deficiency will find his life cut significantly short. It’s not uncommon to lose ten years.
Jiang Fan wasn’t sure how he knew this. The thought just popped into his head, an instinctive diagnosis that seemed to have been drawn from that medical book.
A smirk touched the corner of his lips.
In the man’s current condition, his yang energy was severely damaged. If he also enjoyed spicy food, he’d be susceptible to developing tumors.
As for Sun Xiao, her kidney yin was deficient and her bodily fluids depleted. He’d never thought much of it before, but now it was clear this woman had likely slept with quite a few men.
’Good thing I got out when I did.’
He took Mengmeng’s hand and turned to leave. He was completely over Sun Xiao.
It seemed his state of mind had undergone a significant change as well.
"Jiang Fan, leaving so soon?"
Sun Xiao called out to him.
Jiang Fan’s tone was perfectly calm. "Is there something you need?"
He asked as if she were a stranger.
Jiang Fan’s attitude infuriated Sun Xiao.
She wrapped her arm around the tall, thin young man’s, pressing her large chest firmly against him. The young man’s eyes widened, and as if revitalized, he immediately straightened his posture.
"We’re old friends, aren’t we? This is my husband. Let me introduce you."
"My husband is the third young master of the Huahai Group."
"His name is Bi Yuntao."
"Huh? What was that name again?"
"Bi, as in ’graduation.’ Yun, as in ’clouds.’ Tao, as in ’waves.’"
For once, Jiang Fan gave a thumbs-up, offering a very earnest compliment. "Great name."
The young man was clearly unhappy with the way Sun Xiao was looking at Jiang Fan. "Xiaoxiao, who is this?"
"He’s just an old acquaintance, a delivery boy."
"He used to have a huge crush on me."
"I always thought he was single. Who knew his kid was already this big?"
"Sigh, it seems I made the right choice back then."
’These two are putting on quite a show.’
Hearing this, Jiang Fan laughed.
He really had been a fool to ever get involved with this woman.
But for her to publicly humiliate him like this, spouting such unbelievable nonsense...
...showing her true colors and making him out to be worthless.
This set Jiang Fan off. He wasn’t going to put up with Sun Xiao’s crap.
He let go of Mengmeng’s hand, walked up, and slapped Sun Xiao across the face.
"Next time you bad-mouth me, it won’t be just a slap."
"Fuck! How dare you hit my woman, you bastard."
Bi Yuntao rushed forward, swinging a fist at Jiang Fan.
Jiang Fan simply sidestepped, and Bi Yuntao nearly stumbled to the ground.
"You with your kidney deficiency, you should go back and train for another couple of years."
Without a second thought, he followed through with a kick that sent Bi Yuntao sprawling.
Bi Yuntao howled in pain on the ground.
"Jiang Fan, is it? You just wait."
Without a backward glance, Jiang Fan led Mengmeng away.
He left the furious pair behind as the onlookers, who loved the drama, watched on.
They all started mocking them.
"Daddy, you were so cool just now."
"Mengmeng wants to learn too."
Jiang Fan felt like he’d gotten stronger. It seemed like everything about him was changing, and all for the better.
"Okay, Daddy will teach you later."
"Daddy, let’s go play Whac-A-Mole!"
Mengmeng pulled Jiang Fan over to the Whac-A-Mole game.
The mechanical moles popped up one after another from their holes.
Little Mengmeng swung the inflatable mallet, whacking away furiously, but couldn’t hit a single one.
Jiang Fan seemed to notice something different about Mengmeng.
Mengmeng was a little different from other kids her age. She seemed to have trouble tracking fast-moving objects.
It was like some kind of defect.
Jiang Fan focused his gaze on Mengmeng, and just like that, he saw through her. Inside her body, her meridians and acupoints seemed to be shrouded in a hazy color.
And this color was most concentrated in her head.
A piece of information surfaced in his mind: Mengmeng seemed to have suffered a very serious injury in the past.
To her head, it seemed.
’Perhaps if I could remove that hazy substance, Mengmeng could recover.’
But Jiang Fan had a nagging feeling he couldn’t do it yet.
Seeing Mengmeng’s cheerful smile, Jiang Fan didn’t dwell on it.
Right now, he was just Mengmeng’s dad.
"Daddy, these moles are too mean! Mengmeng can’t hit them. Daddy, can you help Mengmeng?"
"Okay, Daddy will help you."
Jiang Fan took the inflatable mallet and swung it down.
Unsurprisingly, he hit his target, but the mallet in his hand exploded from the impact.
The machine seemed to have jammed as well.
Jiang Fan’s scalp tingled. It seemed he couldn’t control the strange power inside his body.
"Daddy, should we run away real fast?"
"If the police officers see that we broke the machine, they’ll definitely come and get us."
"You’re right, let’s run."
Jiang Fan and Mengmeng quietly slipped away.
They ended up hiding behind the haunted house, with Mengmeng panting heavily.
"Daddy, Mengmeng did something bad just now. My heart is beating so fast!"
"It’s okay. The toy broke, and one of the uncles will fix it."
"But this is the only time, okay? From now on, if you do something wrong, you have to be brave and admit it." Jiang Fan could have paid for the damage, but he thought it would be fun to give Mengmeng a different kind of childhood memory.
"Mengmeng understands."
"Also, don’t mention this to Mommy, okay? Otherwise, Daddy will get an earful from her."
"Uh-huh, Mengmeng won’t tell Mommy."
"Daddy, what’s behind us? The screaming is so awful."
"It’s so scary. Mengmeng is scared."
Behind them was the haunted house. Jiang Fan wasn’t bothered, but children are sensitive to their surroundings, so it was normal for her to be scared.
"Let’s find another spot." Jiang Fan didn’t want to traumatize his daughter.
Just then, a few people came out of the haunted house, moving against the flow of the crowd, carrying someone.
"Call for an ambulance! Also, is there a doctor? Is there a doctor here?"
An NPC employee’s face was pale. She had just been following her normal routine, playing a ghost to scare visitors, but the young man on the ground had been scared into fainting.
If this young man died, the amusement park would surely make her the scapegoat, pushing all the responsibility onto her.
The young man’s face was ashen. He was trembling all over and convulsing.
"Is there a doctor?" The young man was already foaming at the mouth.
If he didn’t get treatment soon, things would get serious.
The NPC girl was already crying.
"The ambulance won’t be here for a while! Is there a doctor here?"
A middle-aged woman also pushed her way through the crowd. Behind her were several able-bodied young men with sharp, alert gazes.
When the woman saw that the person lying on the ground was her son...
She immediately started screaming, "Did you do this to him?"
"Didn’t you know he has a weak constitution?"
"If anything happens to my son, I’ll make you pay with your life!" After saying this, the middle-aged woman slapped the NPC girl on the ground.
The NPC girl’s face stung, and she couldn’t stop crying. She wasn’t crying because of the slap, but because if the person on the ground really died, the rest of her life would be over.
"I really didn’t mean to, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!"
"You think a simple ’sorry’ is enough?"
