The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 219: Doing as One Pleases
Chapter 219: Chapter 219: Doing as One Pleases
"Is there no other way? Your grandfather... he’s not willing to provide a little more help?"
Jiang Fan’s voice grew cold.
This situation was already far beyond what he could handle.
With sums in the tens or even hundreds of millions, not to mention all this stock market maneuvering, he was completely out of his depth.
He wanted to help but was utterly powerless.
"I’ve already contacted him. Grandpa said he’ll provide some support, but ultimately, we’re on our own."
Jiang Fan nodded helplessly.
’I’d love to drag Li Fengming out here right now and beat him senseless,’ he thought. ’Even better if I could just kill him.’
"Where’s Mengmeng?"
"You’re both here..."
Only then did Jiang Fan remember.
"She’s sleeping in her room. I gave her a bath after dinner, and she went right to sleep."
Jiang Fan gently pushed open the bedroom door and saw Mengmeng sleeping soundly on the bed. A smile touched his lips.
"Well, you two get back to it. Just let me know if you need my help with anything. I’ll stay here and keep you company."
"There’s no need. You should take a shower and get some sleep. You’ve been drinking, and you had a long day."
"We’ll keep an eye on things here and stay in contact with the company’s senior management. Nothing major will go wrong."
"There’s a board meeting tomorrow. We’ll see if everyone can brainstorm a solution."
Since they both insisted, Jiang Fan could only nod. Sun Yanzi found him some pajamas and pointed him toward the bathroom for a shower.
Lying in bed, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep. This feeling of helplessness was unbearable.
"Daddy, can’t you sleep either?"
Mengmeng’s tiny voice whispered in his ear.
"Oh, sweetie, why are you awake? Go back to sleep."
Jiang Fan was startled.
He quickly patted her back, thinking his tossing and turning had woken her.
"Daddy, I wasn’t really asleep. I heard you when you came home."
"It’s just... Mommy seems to have something really important to do. She couldn’t be with me, so I had to pretend to be asleep so she wouldn’t worry."
"I know Daddy is the strongest and can do anything. Can you please go help Mommy?"
"Mengmeng doesn’t want to see Mommy so tired. It’s so, so late, and she’s still awake."
"What if Mommy faints again like last time? Then... then Mengmeng won’t have a mommy anymore."
As she spoke, tears began to stream down the little girl’s face.
Mengmeng’s words and tears were like daggers in Jiang Fan’s heart.
His hatred for Li Fengming reached a fever pitch. He knew that business was war.
But he wasn’t a businessman.
"There, there, sweetie. Don’t cry. Daddy will go help Mommy."
"Don’t you worry. Daddy can do anything. He’ll definitely be able to solve this."
Jiang Fan held Mengmeng in his arms, gently patting her back.
"Mhm! And Daddy promises you, he’ll make sure Mommy’s health gets better."
"She absolutely won’t faint again, okay?"
After a long time, Jiang Fan finally coaxed Mengmeng back to sleep.
Then, he got up, pushed open the door, and walked out.
The two women were still sitting in front of their computers, staring intently at the screens.
The atmosphere was incredibly tense.
"Tell me something," Jiang Fan began, feigning nonchalance as he poured himself a glass of water. "If Li Fengming were to... disappear, would this whole thing be resolved?"
"It’s not that simple. This is a strategy set by the entire group. If he disappeared, it would, at best, buy us some breathing room and give us time to come up with a better plan."
"Besides, how can a person just disappear for no reason?"
Sun Yanzi replied without even looking up.
"Are you feeling sick from the alcohol? Want me to get you some honey water?"
"No need. I already ordered something."
"The delivery guy can’t find the place. I’m going down to get it."
"You two keep working. Just try to be quiet and don’t wake Mengmeng. Kids get stressed sleeping in a new place."
With that, Jiang Fan left the apartment.
No one noticed that before he left, he had grabbed a face mask and a pair of sunglasses.
’Damn it,’ he thought. ’If I don’t blow off this steam, I won’t be able to live with myself!’
Mask and sunglasses on, Jiang Fan drove straight to the Fengming Group building.
’Logically, the guy should be asleep at home by now. But then again, if this whole affair has Yin Ruxue and Sun Yanzi too stressed to sleep... how could Li Fengming, the architect of the whole plan, be resting easy?’
He parked his car in a remote, hidden corner.
Then, Jiang Fan casually strolled into the underground garage.
The only person in the Fengming Group’s underground garage was an old security guard, asleep at his post.
He was no obstacle for Jiang Fan.
He found Li Fengming’s car with ease.
Jiang Fan snipped the wires to the security camera, then let all the air out of Li Fengming’s tires.
At that very moment, an alert went off on Li Fengming’s phone.
"Who the fuck touched my car?"
"Hey, someone..."
He started to give an order, only to realize his young secretary was the only one there.
Everyone else had either gone home or, like the handful of senior executives still there, was busy working.
He couldn’t very well ask a senior executive to go check on his car, could he?
"Forget it, I’ll go myself."
When he got to the underground garage, he found all four of his tires were flat.
"Who the fuck did this? Are the security and patrol teams getting paid for nothing?"
Li Fengming couldn’t help but curse angrily.
"Get the fuck over here!"
Keeping his voice low, Jiang Fan grabbed him by the collar and, with a sudden jerk, yanked him into a dark corner.
"Fuck! Who are you? What do you want!"
A look of panic appeared on Li Fengming’s face.
"Like I’m gonna fucking tell you!!"
Jiang Fan raised a hand and slapped him hard across the face.
Then, his fists rained down on him like a storm.
He hit every conceivable spot.
Before long, Li Fengming was more exhaling than inhaling. But Jiang Fan had been careful with his blows; he definitely hadn’t beaten him to death.
Still, a beating like this would leave him bedridden for at least three months.
’No, that’s not a sure thing!’
With that thought, Jiang Fan lightly flicked a spot just below the man’s heart.
