Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Pleasant Surprise (Part 2)

The moment Jiang Fan arrived at the company that day, Yin Ruxue called him into her office.

The National Day celebration was drawing closer and closer.

Jiang Fan and the entire planning department were working overtime.

He often lamented that there just wasn’t enough time.

But now, Yin Ruxue had called him over, and for fifteen minutes, she hadn’t said a word.

She didn’t look up until her phone buzzed.

"Were you behind the two recent incidents?"

Yin Ruxue didn’t beat around the bush; she cut right to the chase.

"No."

"How could I have that kind of power? Forget about hitting him, I don’t even have the guts!"

Jiang Fan immediately cried foul.

"How can you just accuse people without any evidence?"

"Besides, all I’ve done recently is go back and forth between work and home. Yanzi can vouch for me. If you don’t believe me, ask her."

"Alright. Officer Sun, did you hear that?"

"This is quite sudden, isn’t it? We weren’t prepared at all."

Yin Ruxue’s cold voice rang out.

A uniformed, short-haired female police officer walked out from the back, exuding a sharp, crisp aura.

"President Yin, my apologies. I’m just following orders."

A hint of apology showed on Officer Sun’s face.

She then turned to Jiang Fan, looking him up and down.

"It really wasn’t you?"

"What ’it’ are you talking about?"

Jiang Fan was playing dumb.

"Where were you on the night of the 17th?"

"At home, sleeping. Or maybe I should install a security camera at my place for you to watch next time?"

Jiang Fan asked lightly.

"Who can corroborate that?"

"Her and Sun Yanzi. The three of us were sleeping under the same blanket. Want to watch a live stream?"

"Pervert!"

Officer Sun snorted coldly and left the office.

Yin Ruxue stood at the window, watching her depart from the building below.

After she was completely gone, Yin Ruxue’s phone buzzed again.

"You were too reckless this time. There was no need to go and beat him up a second time."

Yin Ruxue sighed.

"That Officer Sun has been investigating us for several days now."

"Huh? What are you talking about? I didn’t hit him! I really didn’t hit him the second time."

"I don’t know what asshole is imitating me."

"And how could she suspect us? She’s crazy."

"Just because we’re in a business war?"

The moment he said that, Jiang Fan snapped his mouth shut. He had just muddle-headedly admitted to it.

"So, you were the one who beat him up the first time."

"Be more careful in the future. What if you seriously injure him? What am I supposed to do if I have to pay compensation?"

But thankfully, Yin Ruxue didn’t dwell on the issue.

Instead, she answered another one of Jiang Fan’s questions.

"Because the second time he was beaten, the culprit specifically left a note at the scene."

"I only managed to get it through my internal connections."

"A note???"

The wariness on Jiang Fan’s face didn’t fade.

Seeing his expression, Yin Ruxue was both amused and exasperated.

"You think I wanted to? The officer demanded it!"

"I had no choice but to cooperate."

She then took out her phone and showed him a photo.

It was the note.

"If you dare to target Xuerong Group again, you can spend the rest of your life in the ICU."

"You can try to hide, but I don’t believe you can hide forever!"

Just that simple sentence was enough to push Xuerong Group into the eye of the storm.

"That’s right."

Yin Ruxue nodded with a smile.

"But it’s a blessing in disguise. Although we were investigated by the police this time, it also completely cleared us of suspicion."

"Most importantly, being pushed into the spotlight means we can turn this into something we need."

"For example, Xuerong’s long-standing commitment to quality, quality control, and after-sales service."

"Even our partnership with Yuefan Group has been seen by more people."

"All the rumors created by those countless paid trolls and anti-fans online have fallen apart on their own."

After she finished, Jiang Fan looked exceptionally pleased. "I wonder which chivalrous hero did such a thing! This is a textbook example of delivering justice on heaven’s behalf!"

"If this were ancient times, he could probably raise an army!"

Jiang Fan exclaimed with sincere admiration.

PFFT.

A smile blossomed on Yin Ruxue’s face, a rare sight.

"Are you praising yourself right now, or someone else?"

"What’s it got to do with me? The man in black did it all. I don’t know anything."

Jiang Fan deflected all responsibility with a single stroke.

"Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. It’s in the past, anyway."

"How is the proposal from the planning department coming along?"

"National Day is a peak period. In previous years, sales would increase by at least 5 to 10 percent."

"Are you confident we can shoot for something bigger this time?"

Yin Ruxue asked.

"Ten percent will be tough, but I’m somewhat confident about eight percent."

"After all, this is my first time preparing such a large-scale event covering all our stores."

"I’m not aiming for a home run, just trying not to strike out."

Jiang Fan replied in all seriousness.

He was probably the only employee who dared to speak like that in front of the company’s boss.

Anyone else would be falling over themselves to swear fealty and make grand promises.

But here he was, being honest and downplaying expectations.

"So, do you have a plan?"

Yin Ruxue sat down, took a sip of tea, and asked.

"It’s really just two aspects. One is appropriate pricing and discounts, and the other is how to make the in-store activities eye-catching."

"There’s nothing else, really."

"Is there anything else? If not, I’ll get back to work."

"Right now, I wish I could split myself into eight people."

Jiang Fan replied.

"Go on, then. If you run into any problems, you can come to me immediately. Going to Li Muwan is also fine."

"Alright."

With a quick agreement, Jiang Fan turned, pushed open the office door, and left.

He returned to his desk as fast as he could, staring at the proposal in front of him.

If Yin Ruxue had come back with him, her face would have probably turned green with anger.

Because aside from the three words of the title, "The Holiday Plan," Jiang Fan’s proposal was completely blank.

Never mind any detailed follow-up plans; everything he had just said, which had sounded so well-reasoned, was actually just something he’d made up on the spot.

’Holy shit, why is this thing so hard to write!!!’
