The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 290: Jia
Jiang Fan frowned. The woman’s hand was very slender, and her face was quite delicate.
She wore a red cheongsam. Since Jiang Fan was half-squatting in front of Liu Yingtai, he happened to look her over from bottom to top.
To be honest, Jiang Fan had never seen such a frigid woman. Even Yin Ruxue was merely aloof, but this woman’s face was terrifyingly so.
Jiang Fan tried to break free from the woman’s grip and slowly stood up.
“Sir, I’m not sure how Young Master Liu offended you, but could I ask you to be lenient? Here at the Yangcheng Hotel, we believe harmony is key to good business, and we’d like to help mediate.”
She spoke quite politely.
Jiang Fan slowly rose to his feet and swept his gaze around the room.
“Don’t you have any security measures when you check guests into a room? My friend here has clearly lost consciousness. You’re a woman, too. Are you really okay with this kind of thing happening in your hotel?”
Jiang Fan shot a fierce glare at Liu Yingtai, his anger still simmering.
Liu Yingtai was curled up in a corner, trembling uncontrollably.
The woman glanced around the room, her gaze finally landing on Rong Anyao. When she saw that Rong Anyao was motionless and unresponsive, her gaze grew severe.
She shot a fierce glare at the man in the suit standing by the door.
“Manager Chen, is this how you check in guests? Have you forgotten everything I taught you?”
Manager Chen looked aggrieved.
“Jia, the front desk told me about it at the beginning. We weren’t going to give them a room, but he’s from the Liu Family of Chenel. You know… we can’t afford to offend the Liu Family!”
Hearing this, Jia glanced at Liu Yingtai again.
“Did he bring those men at the door, too?”
“Yes!”
“And you’re the one who took care of them all?” Jia asked Jiang Fan.
“Any problem with that?” Jiang Fan said.
The woman nodded lightly. “No problem at all. Sir, this matter was handled improperly by our Yangcheng Hotel. You can take your friend and leave. If you need, I can also prepare a premium room for you.”
“Leave?” Jiang Fan chuckled. “My business with this punk isn’t finished yet. I’ll let your hotel’s mistake slide, but this kid… daring to come all the way from Chenel to throw his weight around? I have to teach him a lesson!”
As he spoke, Jiang Fan clenched his fists again.
Jia flinched slightly. She stepped in front of Liu Yingtai, her expression cold and severe.
“Sir, you may not know this, but the Liu Family of Chenel isn’t some group you can take on lightly. If anything happens to him in our Yangcheng Hotel, I’ll be the one who can’t escape the blame. My humble hotel can’t afford to offend the Liu Family. A single punch from you could get my entire hotel destroyed. Your girlfriend doesn’t look well, but fortunately, nothing irreversible has happened. Why not do me this small favor, sir? The Yangcheng Hotel would be incredibly grateful!”
Jia’s words might have sounded humble, but her powerful presence didn’t falter in the least.
However, Jiang Fan felt the woman—Jia—had a point.
Judging from Manager Chen’s earlier attitude, Liu Yingtai’s Liu Family was definitely not to be trifled with, not a power they could afford to cross.
He had already taught Liu Yingtai a little lesson. If the Yangcheng Hotel got dragged into this because of him, Jiang Fan would feel somewhat bad about it.
Besides, Rong Anyao’s condition was still unclear, and he didn’t want to drag this out any longer.
“What the hell did you give her?” Jiang Fan demanded viciously.
Liu Yingtai remained curled up, clutching his foot as blood continued to stream from it.
He pointed to a medicine bottle on a nearby table and said frantically, “Th-that’s it!”
Jiang Fan snatched up the medicine bottle and glanced at Jia again.
Though some of his anger lingered, he still said, “Fine, I’ll do you this favor. And this punk can count himself lucky. But your hotel seriously needs to reconsider its security policy. You can’t just let people act like tyrants on your premises without asking any questions.”
After saying his piece, he swept his gaze over the security guards, then scooped up Rong Anyao in his arms and left the room.
The group of people watched him leave. No one dared to move, and they all instinctively parted to create a path.
Once Jiang Fan’s figure was far in the distance, Jia scanned her surroundings, her anger finally boiling over, and said coldly, “What are you all gaping at? Get him to a hospital, now! Do you want Young Master Liu to die in our hotel?”
At her words, several people scrambled to carry Liu Yingtai out of the hotel.
Staring at the blood on the floor, Jia sighed and pressed a hand to her head, clearly troubled.
‘With something like this happening, it’s going to be hard to explain this to the Liu Family in Chenel…’
Jiang Fan carried Rong Anyao out of the hotel, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for her residence.
He had glanced at the medicine bottle earlier. Although Rong Anyao was unconscious, the drug was fortunately just similar to a powerful sleeping pill with no serious side effects.
All Rong Anyao needed now was to rest and wait for it to wear off.
After arriving at Rong Anyao’s apartment, Jiang Fan patted down her clothes and, with some effort, managed to find her keys in the pocket with her phone.
He gently carried Rong Anyao inside and laid her down on the bed.
Looking at Rong Anyao sleeping soundly, Jiang Fan couldn’t help but sigh.
Right now, Rong Anyao was as quiet as a little lamb. It was exactly her “wouldn’t-hurt-a-fly” personality that made her so easy for others to trick.
While Rong Anyao was still sleeping soundly, Jiang Fan rummaged through the refrigerator in the kitchen.
He scanned the contents of the fridge and found a bag of coffee, a few chocolates, and a bit of strong liquor. From these, he concocted a special reviving tonic.
With great difficulty, Jiang Fan managed to feed the tonic to Rong Anyao with a spoon. When it was done, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
‘Looking at the text message on his phone, Jiang Fan felt a lingering fear. Thank goodness Rong Anyao was sharp enough to think of texting him. And he’d been lucky, too, rushing just in time to catch Liu Yingtai’s car. Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.’
‘At the thought, Jiang Fan clenched his fists again. If Jia hadn’t appeared today, he really might have crippled Liu Yingtai for good.’
Jiang Fan sat quietly by Rong Anyao’s bed. About half an hour later, she struggled to open her eyes and began to stir.
Rong Anyao was groggy at first. She instinctively glanced around the room, then down at herself, before her eyes finally landed on Jiang Fan.
“Jiang, how did you get here? I… how did I get back? What happened?”
Jiang Fan looked at Rong Anyao and gave a wry smile. “I was about to ask you what happened. If it weren’t for me today, I’m afraid you’d be lying in that Liu Yingtai’s bed right now. It’s a good thing you knew to text me…”
Before Jiang Fan could finish, Rong Anyao’s face fell. She shot up and threw her arms around him, tears beginning to flow uncontrollably.
