The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 299: Game with Followers
When Jiang Fan said this, he felt perfectly lucid, and he didn’t hold back at all.
Li Muwan’s attitude the previous night had already annoyed him, and this morning, she hadn’t given him any chance to explain, siding with Liujiang River the entire time.
And now, Li Muwan had burst in and started accusing him without getting the facts straight.
How could Jiang Fan tolerate such treatment? Naturally, his words were just as unsparing.
But after he finished speaking, he saw Li Muwan staring at him in a daze.
A moment later, a single tear streamed down her cheek.
She stared intently at Jiang Fan, but his gaze started to waver.
“Fine!”
After a long pause, Li Muwan forced out that single word before storming out the door.
For some reason, watching Li Muwan’s retreating figure, Jiang Fan felt a strange pang of sadness.
Suddenly, Jiang Fan felt restless and irritable.
He lay on the bed and called Wu Qiang, but no one answered.
He then called Old Niu, but again, no one answered.
Lying on the bed, Jiang Fan felt his thoughts turn into a tangled mess.
He sent a message to Sun Yanzi, telling her he wasn’t coming back, then lay on the bed and opened his phone.
With nothing better to do, Jiang Fan suddenly felt like watching Rong Anyao’s live stream.
He remembered that Rong Anyao was a streamer on a platform called Fish Live, so he opened his phone and searched for her.
He tried searching for keywords from her name and quickly found Rong Anyao in the entertainment streamer section.
Rong Anyao wasn’t online at the moment. Jiang Fan checked her profile and saw that she actually had over three million followers.
‘She’s definitely what you’d call a major streamer.’
Just as he was looking at her profile, Jiang Fan saw that Rong Anyao had come online.
Curious, Jiang Fan clicked into Rong Anyao’s stream.
Rong Anyao was wearing a white Lolita-style outfit and sitting in front of the camera.
The whole room was simply decorated, but it gave off a very comfortable vibe.
As soon as Rong Anyao went live, hundreds of people flooded into the stream. Within a few short minutes, the viewer count was over a thousand.
Jiang Fan couldn’t help but think, ‘It really is the age of internet traffic.’
Jiang Fan saw that even though Rong Anyao kept telling people both verbally and in the bullet comments not to go crazy with gifts, many still sent them.
Jiang Fan glanced at the gift wall. The gifts ranged from a few bucks’ worth to several thousand.
In the short time since Jiang Fan had joined, he’d already seen people send her four or five gifts worth over a hundred bucks each.
Jiang Fan had to admit, ‘These fans are insane.’
Among the flood of bullet comments, Jiang Fan saw that most were asking Rong Anyao why she didn’t stream yesterday, saying they had been waiting for her.
Rong Anyao, for her part, was patiently answering everyone’s questions.
After interacting with the chat for about ten minutes, Rong Anyao announced, “The day before yesterday, I promised I’d play Honor of Kings with some viewers. So today is a viewer special! I’ll create a room in a bit, and you all can join randomly…”
Then, Rong Anyao continued to explain the rules.
From the sound of it, she was planning to play and interact with her viewers, doing five-player ranked matches in Honor of Kings with her fans.
This piqued Jiang Fan’s interest. He glanced around the room, saw a networked projector, and simply cast Rong Anyao’s stream onto the wall screen before opening Honor of Kings on his phone.
Jiang Fan had just logged into the game when a message from Rong Anyao suddenly popped up.
“Jiang, you’re playing the game too? Want to play with me?”
Jiang Fan was bored anyway and, having gotten interested, was about to try and squeeze into one of her public lobbies. He never expected her to message him directly.
“I’m watching your stream, that’s why I logged on!”
Jiang Fan didn’t hide it and just told her outright.
“Okay, I’ll invite you!”
Rong Anyao replied quickly.
Soon, Rong Anyao invited Jiang Fan into the five-player lobby, and a few other people joined right after.
Just then, someone in the bullet comments asked, “Why are there two people? Who is this ‘Handsome Fanfan’?”
“This person is on Princess Yaoyao’s friends list! She’s actually duo-queuing!”
“Judging by the avatar, it’s a guy. Don’t tell me it’s her boyfriend?”
Although Rong Anyao quickly started the game, the bullet comments kept rolling in, one after another, mostly discussing Jiang Fan.
“Everyone, stop guessing. He’s just a whale, carrying me to a higher rank. I may not sell products, but I still have to make a living!”
Rong Anyao suddenly said this to her stream.
But immediately after, she sent Jiang Fan a private message.
“Jiang, don’t overthink it. I only said that because I was afraid they would harass you!”
Jiang Fan smiled and replied, “It’s fine, I get it!”
But unexpectedly, Rong Anyao suddenly replied with: “I’m still your little lover!”
That one sentence left Jiang Fan at a loss for words. Thankfully, the game started, giving him the perfect excuse not to reply.
In the first game, Rong Anyao picked her signature Diao Chan, while Jiang Fan chose Yao to protect her.
The other three viewers took the top and bottom lanes and the jungler role.
Jiang Fan stuck to his plan of protecting Rong Anyao at all costs, following her from the very start of the game without leaving her side.
And Rong Anyao didn’t disappoint. Right from the start, she was showing off all sorts of flashy moves, even diving the enemy tower right after hitting level four to get a kill on the opposing mid-laner.
Facing her stream, Rong Anyao became much more talkative.
Even though she was playing mid-lane, she kept an eye on the entire map, giving her viewer teammates callouts.
Jiang Fan realized Rong Anyao had incredible game sense. She could practically predict the positions of all five opponents and give her teammates accurate pings.
When he was at Rong Anyao’s house before, she hadn’t been very talkative, so Jiang Fan hadn’t realized her skills were this good. Now, it seemed her mechanics were on par with Wu Qiang’s.
Even though Rong Anyao wasn’t the jungler, she was still able to act as the team’s core, their central brain.
Under Rong Anyao’s leadership, they quickly won the game.
After winning the match, she politely apologized to the other three viewers and then “invited” them out of the five-player lobby.
Almost instantly, three new viewers joined.
Jiang Fan saw that the stream now had over twenty thousand viewers.
Moreover, ever since Rong Anyao had started streaming, Jiang Fan had seen a continuous stream of gifts floating across the screen.
There were gifts worth a few bucks, some worth tens, and occasionally, a high-roller would drop a huge gift worth hundreds or thousands, to which Rong Anyao would immediately express her thanks on stream.
