Yin Ruxue looked at Jiang Fan, a glimmer of light in her eyes.

Jiang Fan sighed slowly. "I’ve said it before—Mengmeng and I have a special connection. So I’ll continue to help you with her. As for the price, it’ll be the same as we agreed. I won’t be greedy."

After hearing this, Yin Ruxue suddenly pulled out her phone.

The next moment, Jiang Fan saw Yin Ruxue transferring money to him. He couldn’t help but give a wry smile.

Yin Ruxue said, "This is thirty thousand. Ten thousand is what you’ve earned for taking care of Mengmeng, and the other twenty thousand is your salary and bonus from Xuerong International."

Jiang Fan nodded and accepted the transfer from Yin Ruxue.

After all, he had indeed earned it.

Seeing that Jiang Fan didn’t refuse, her face brightened even more.

Soon, one glass of "Tipsy" was empty, and Yin Ruxue picked up another to drink.

"I suggest you don’t drink that second glass. Otherwise, I guarantee you won’t be able to sleep tonight," Jiang Fan cautioned.

Yin Ruxue hesitated for a moment before putting the remaining glass down.

Just then, Yin Ruxue’s phone rang at the perfect moment.

After hanging up, Yin Ruxue looked at Jiang Fan.

"Can you come home with me today? Mengmeng hasn’t seen you in days."

Jiang Fan didn’t refuse and nodded.

He had just taken her money, after all. Besides, he saw that the call had been from Nanny Chen.

"Then let’s head back soon. It’s getting late."

Yin Ruxue stood up as she spoke, and Jiang Fan followed behind her.

Once they were out the door, Yin Ruxue handed the car keys directly to Jiang Fan.

Jiang Fan nodded and pushed the door open to enter.

Inside the living room, Mengmeng came running over.

"Daddy! Mommy! You’re finally back!"

"Mengmeng, why are you still up so late? Don’t you have school tomorrow?"

Mengmeng was thrilled to see Jiang Fan.

She hugged Jiang Fan and said, "Nanny Chen said you’d be coming home together tonight, so I couldn’t sleep. I wanted to wait for you so we could all sleep together!"

"Huh?"

Jiang Fan froze, suddenly feeling like he’d walked into one of Yin Ruxue’s little traps. ’So that’s why she didn’t press me to drink earlier,’ he realized. ’She must have planned for me to drive her home all along.’

Yin Ruxue’s gaze flickered away. She quickly said, "Mengmeng, Mommy and Daddy are back now, so you should get ready for bed, or you won’t be able to get up tomorrow."

"Mommy, I’ve already washed up! I was just waiting for you!"

Just then, Nanny Chen walked over with a frown. "Miss, Sir, Mengmeng refused to sleep until you came home. She was determined to wait for you."

"Thank you for your hard work, Nanny Chen. You should go get some rest," Yin Ruxue said.

Jiang Fan glanced at the time. It was already past eleven at night.

"Daddy, Mommy, can you both sleep with me tonight? I have so much to tell you!" Mengmeng said, nestled in Jiang Fan’s arms.

Jiang Fan glanced at Yin Ruxue, who said, "Okay, Mommy and Daddy will sleep with you. But you have to go to sleep quickly. We’ll take you to school together tomorrow, so how about you tell us all about it on the way?"

"No! I have lots and lots to tell you!"

"Mengmeng, the day after tomorrow is the weekend. How about Daddy takes you out to play then? Be a good girl and sleep now, and do well in school tomorrow!"

"Really, Daddy? Okay!" Mengmeng clapped her hands, looking even more excited.

Yin Ruxue looked at Jiang Fan, and he simply smiled back at her.

’I’ve already quit my job, and I just took Yin Ruxue’s money,’ Jiang Fan thought. ’I don’t have anything going on lately anyway, so I might as well take Mengmeng out to have some fun.’

But it was getting late.

Jiang Fan quickly washed up downstairs, changed into a set of pajamas, and then went up to Mengmeng’s room.

By this time, Yin Ruxue had already changed into her pajamas and was lying in bed with Mengmeng, reading her a fairytale.

Mengmeng peeked her little head out and waved at Jiang Fan when she saw him.

Jiang Fan got into bed, flanking Mengmeng on one side while Yin Ruxue was on the other.

"Daddy, when can I finally go to class at your school? A lot of the kids at my school want to go to your school too."

Yin Ruxue chimed in, "Oh, that reminds me, Jiang Fan. The kindergarten principal contacted me. He heard you founded the Hidden Dragon Academy. Because of the camping trip, everyone trusts you a lot, so the principal proposed a joint kindergarten program with the Grand Welfare Institute. He said the terms are negotiable."

Jiang Fan nodded after hearing her out.

"I’ll contact the academy later and discuss it with them. I’ll have them get in touch with Mengmeng’s principal."

"That’s great! Does this mean Mengmeng can go to Daddy’s school now?" Mengmeng exclaimed happily.

"That depends on how well Mengmeng behaves. Good girls need to sleep early, and you can’t give Nanny Chen a hard time anymore, understand?"

"Okay! Mengmeng will listen! Mengmeng is Daddy’s good girl."

Jiang Fan smiled and stroked Mengmeng’s forehead.

He had to admit, a child like Mengmeng had a way of healing the heart.

Even though Jiang Fan hadn’t been in a good mood before, the moment he saw Mengmeng, much of the tension in his heart was released.

Yin Ruxue wrapped an arm around Mengmeng, and Jiang Fan began to tell a fairytale.

In just a short while, Mengmeng was fast asleep.

After making sure Mengmeng was asleep, Jiang Fan glanced at Yin Ruxue, then slowly got out of bed and returned to his room downstairs.

Perhaps because he had slept too much during the day, Jiang Fan didn’t feel sleepy at all.

Lying in bed, he pulled out his phone and checked it. It was already so late, but there was still no news from Wu Qiang.

He tried calling Wu Qiang again, but once more, no one answered.
