The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 38: Must Have Snuck In
Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Must Have Snuck In
In the underground parking garage, Yin Ruxue was looking for a spot.
Jiang Fan was a little surprised.
He rarely saw so many luxury cars on the road, but this place was full of them.
Panamera, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg...
’The world of the rich is truly beyond imagination.’
The underground garage was also decorated with "Longevity" characters.
Jiang Fan had a bad feeling. He had a pretty good idea of what Yin Ruxue was planning.
Yin Ruxue spoke up. "Leave this painting with me for now."
"We’ll present it when the time is right."
Jiang Fan shook his head. ’This one million yuan really isn’t easy money.’
’It looked like he’d have to face the prestigious owners of these luxury cars soon.’
’I’m still too young and naive.’
As if sensing the change in his expression, Yin Ruxue said, "Don’t worry too much. If any problems arise, I’ll help you."
Jiang Fan just smiled.
They got on the elevator. The one from the garage went directly to the back garden.
"I’m going to change into an evening gown. You can wait here for a bit."
The clothes Jiang Fan was wearing happened to be the set Yin Ruxue had bought for him. While not exactly high-end, it was presentable enough, so he didn’t need to change.
"Don’t wander too far, and keep your phone on."
Jiang Fan nodded.
Jiang Fan strolled around the estate. As far as scenery went, the place was definitely impressive.
There was a small golf course, a little fishing pond, and a wide variety of flowers and trees.
The occasional chirp of birds could be heard. Unlike the retro style of the main gate, the backyard had a more tranquil and secluded atmosphere.
Someone was walking toward him, and Jiang Fan froze.
The person opposite him also froze.
’Holy shit, isn’t that Yang Bapi?’
The man before him was Yang Lian’an, the station manager from Jiang Fan’s time as a delivery driver.
At first, Yang Lian’an wasn’t sure if the man opposite him was Jiang Fan, but as soon as he heard the name "Yang Bapi," he knew.
"It really is you, Jiang Fan."
Yang Lian’an had a strange look on his face. "You brat, how did you sneak in here?"
"Don’t tell me someone actually brought you in."
Jiang Fan had no reason to be friendly to Yang Bapi. Back when he was a delivery driver, this bastard had always made his life difficult.
"I don’t see why I need to tell you."
Seeing Jiang Fan’s arrogance, Yang Bapi got angry. "Fine, fine. Just you wait."
’What kind of place is this? This is the Yin Family estate!’
’Today is Old Master Yin’s 80th birthday.’
’Every single person here is worth tens, if not hundreds, of millions.’
’If he hadn’t married into the Yang Family and come with his wife,’
’he wouldn’t even be able to set foot in the door.’
’Let alone a punk like Jiang Fan.’
’Jiang Fan must have snuck in.’
’Maybe the kid is here to steal something.’
Watching Yang Bapi get all worked up, Jiang Fan shook his head.
Jiang Fan had heard stories about Yang Bapi. Apparently, when he was younger, he’d been kept by a rich older woman.
But she eventually grew tired of him. Although they remained married, it was purely a contractual relationship.
With a contract marriage like that, he couldn’t get his hands on much money no matter how hard he tried.
To secure his position in the Yang Family, Yang Bapi had even changed his original name, Du Lian’an, to Yang Lian’an.
A pity he still failed to secure a real place for himself.
Still, he’d managed to have a daughter after a few years, and she was no longer a child.
As for whether she was his biological daughter, that didn’t seem to matter anymore.
With a daughter and a new surname, the Yang Family had originally intended to give him significant responsibilities.
The Yang Family gave him several chances, providing him with nearly ten million in startup capital to launch a business. But as it turned out, he had no business acumen whatsoever and ended up losing every last penny.
It was clearly inappropriate to let him continue participating in the Yang Family’s businesses. But, he was still technically a member of the Yang Family. In the end, to save face, they pulled some strings and found him a menial job.
And so, he became a delivery station manager.
But his position as station manager was a special case. It was basically a sinecure—a way for him to get paid for doing nothing while satisfying his craving to act like a boss.
Jiang Fan shook his head. ’He was dealt a good hand and played it terribly.’
In the estate, there was a massive Chinese Wood Hydrangea.
These trees were very expensive nowadays.
Highly sought-after.
The one before him was a full four to five stories tall.
Normally, a Chinese Wood Hydrangea would only grow to about two stories high at most.
But this one was exceptionally special.
Jiang Fan found it miraculous.
Standing before the Chinese Wood Hydrangea, he truly felt the immensity of the tree. It would take three to five people joining hands to barely encircle its trunk.
Jiang Fan focused, looking at the tree with his inner vision.
The body of the tree itself seemed unremarkable.
Then, his gaze fell to the roots of the Chinese Wood Hydrangea.
In his vision, the soil around the Chinese Wood Hydrangea gradually faded away, revealing a brilliant, glowing stone beneath the roots.
The stone seemed connected to the roots, continuously supplying the massive tree with vigorous life force.
Jiang Fan was visibly moved by this discovery.
He searched through the inherited memories from the Celestial Return Medical Records and discovered that this stone was, in fact, a legendary Spirit Stone.
A Spirit Stone was a wondrous stone of heaven and earth that contained a unique power, immensely beneficial for cultivation.
However, without a corresponding Cultivation Technique, it was impossible to absorb the energy from a Spirit Stone.
"Grandpa, look at my boxing form. Are there any flaws?"
A voice drew Jiang Fan’s attention.
It came from the other side of the Chinese Wood Hydrangea.
He had been so focused on the Spirit Stone underground that he had completely missed the two people.
The old man shook his head. "Your boxing still has some flaws."
"For instance, a punch like this should generate a gust of wind."
"But when you execute it, it still lacks a certain refinement."
"This is something that requires time to hone and perfect."
"Alright," the young woman said, clearly a little discouraged.
But the old man chuckled. "Don’t overthink it. Among the younger generation of our clan, you’re already considered outstanding."
"Your talent is extraordinary."
"The Spiritual Energy here seems unusually dense. It’s likely being released with the help of this Chinese Wood Hydrangea."
"A Chinese Wood Hydrangea that can grow this large is a truly rare find."
"Grandpa, why don’t we just buy this Chinese Wood Hydrangea?"
But the old man shook his head. "Forget it. A gentleman does not take what another cherishes."
Jiang Fan also decided against taking the Spirit Stone from underground.
The Spirit Stone and the Chinese Wood Hydrangea had already fused into a single entity.
If it were removed, the Chinese Wood Hydrangea would wither and die.
The fact that this tree could grow by enveloping a Spirit Stone with its roots was a testament to its extraordinary nature. Jiang Fan would never do something that would cut short such a life.
But borrowing a little Spiritual Energy wouldn’t be a problem.
Jiang Fan also went around to the back of the Chinese Wood Hydrangea, chose a spot where the Spiritual Energy was abundant, sat down cross-legged, and began to absorb the energy diffusing through the air.
"That guy certainly makes himself at home." Lu Youyou was a little annoyed. She could also tell he was no ordinary person.
