Chapter 53: Chapter 53: When a Hooligan Meets a Hardcase

Jiang Fan’s action stunned everyone present.

Even Yin Ruxue stared at him in slight disbelief.

Wang Zihao’s father, a thuggish-looking, middle-aged fat man, was also dazed.

Jiang Fan shot him a cold glare, then stood up and walked over to another man.

"Come on, hit me. If you don’t, you’re my son."

This man was even less brave than Wang Zihao’s father, Fatty Wang. The single sentence was enough to make him stumble back a few steps.

He repeated the same tactic, and the remaining parents all kept their distance from Jiang Fan.

The children standing beside them looked at Jiang Fan with fear in their eyes.

"A bunch of cowards. I’m telling you to hit me, but you don’t dare. I’m putting my face right in front of you, and you still don’t dare to slap it."

A cold smirk played on Jiang Fan’s lips.

"Of course, you should also be glad you didn’t."

Hearing Jiang Fan’s blatant humiliation, Fatty Wang clenched his jaw.

He really had wanted to lash out just now, to beat this pretty boy until his face was swollen like a pig’s head.

But the last shred of rational thought in his mind made him hold back.

’Which family that could send their child to this school wasn’t either rich or influential? Which one of them didn’t have some power or background?’

’What if I provoke someone I can’t afford to?’

"I’m not going to argue with you. Do you think everyone is as crude and violent as you?"

"No matter what, you two have to apologize to our children today. And she has to write a letter of guarantee promising to never use violence again."

Fatty Wang said, pointing a finger at Mengmeng.

"Apologize to you?"

"Write a letter of guarantee?"

"I’ll pay for your kids’ medical expenses, every last cent. But an apology is absolutely impossible. Our child did nothing wrong."

"Why should she have to apologize to you and promise not to fight back? What if these little brats bully her again in the future?"

"You know better than anyone what kind of children you’ve raised."

"You... Kid, you should leave some room for leeway. It’s a small world, and we’re all prominent figures here."

"Are you threatening me?"

"Well, I’ll put my cards on the table, too. All of you will apologize to my daughter and guarantee you’ll never harass her again."

"Otherwise, I don’t mind seeing this video appear on all the major media outlets. And from now on, every day your kids come to school, they’ll see a banner I’ll be hanging at the gate."

"You don’t want them to be branded as school bullies at such a young age, do you? You don’t want their futures ruined, right?"

Jiang Fan couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words on them. He went straight for the kill.

Upon hearing this, everyone’s expression changed, especially Principal Huang’s.

This kind of incident could be blown up or kept small. Once it was exposed, he would definitely lose his position as principal.

But the rest of these children’s lives would also be ruined.

They would have to leave the city and start over somewhere else. But in an age with such a developed internet... Who would want their own child to attend school with a group of bullies who were forced to transfer?

This was a truly ruthless move, aimed at tearing out the problem by its roots.

"You..."

"How can you be so unreasonable?"

Fatty Wang felt his chest swell with rage. It was always him suppressing others, him playing the role of the rogue.

Now he had run into an infuriatingly stubborn scoundrel...

"It’s like a scholar meeting a soldier—reasoning is useless!"

Fatty Wang snorted coldly.

He never thought in his life that those words would come out of his mouth.

Jiang Fan burst out laughing.

’This big, burly hog... what part of him looks like a scholar?’

"Principal Huang, have the school nurse draw up a bill. We will cover all the medical expenses for these children."

"As for the rest, just have them apologize to us. Besides, your school’s supervision was lacking this time. To think someone was bullying Mengmeng on school grounds."

"Yes, yes, of course. Don’t worry, I guarantee that nothing like this will ever happen again."

Principal Huang said aloud, while inwardly vowing to conduct a major clean-up and thorough investigation at the school.

"I’ll give you five minutes to decide whether to apologize or not."

Then, Jiang Fan carried Mengmeng to the side and sat down.

The remaining parents just stood there, looking at each other. The children didn’t even dare to speak, their heads bowed like timid quails.

Although Yin Ruxue didn’t say anything, a sense of gratitude toward Jiang Fan welled up inside her. ’He’s truly looking out for Mengmeng, thoughtfully nurturing her moral compass.’

’They only had a contractual relationship, yet Jiang Fan was willing to go this far for her.’

"Thank you... for what you did."

Yin Ruxue’s voice was barely a whisper.

For someone with her personality, just saying that was no small feat.

"What? What did you say?"

Jiang Fan, who had been teasing Mengmeng, hadn’t heard her and turned his head to ask.

Yin Ruxue turned her head away and ignored him.

Jiang Fan and Mengmeng exchanged a look.

They ignored her too.

Five minutes passed in the blink of an eye. Fatty Wang and the other parents had finished their discussion.

"Um... it’s true that our kids were in the wrong this time. We’re sorry. We apologize to you."

Fatty Wang and the others spoke simultaneously, their words rushing out in an unclear mumble.

"Hmph."

Jiang Fan snorted, not bothering to argue further, and waved his hand dismissively.

"Get lost."

The parents left the office dejectedly, their children in tow.

They had considered being more defiant, but on one hand, their own family backgrounds weren’t strong enough, and on the other, they couldn’t figure out Jiang Fan’s background.

They had pulled a lot of strings just to get into this school. If they were expelled over such a small matter and then publicly exposed...

The consequences would be more than they could bear.

’Wouldn’t we be skinned alive when we get home?’

Choosing the lesser of two evils, they still cursed him inwardly.

"Principal Huang, I’m going to take Mengmeng out for a bit. Is it okay if I bring her back later?"

"Yes, of course."

"Just send her teacher a message when you get back, and have them meet you at the gate."

Principal Huang said quickly.

Jiang Fan nodded. Carrying Mengmeng, he left the school. Just as they stepped out of the gate, a confused Yin Ruxue frowned and asked, "It’s still class time. What are you doing?"

"Do you think she could have done all that by herself?"

Jiang Fan retorted, then led Mengmeng to a nearby supermarket that sold imported snacks.

"Go pick out some of their favorite snacks for your little friends. Mommy’s treating."

"Consider it a thank-you for their help."

"Wow, Daddy is the best!"

Mengmeng jumped for joy and pushed a small shopping cart to pick out some treats.

But Yin Ruxue’s face darkened. "You’re so cheap, making me pay."

"I don’t have any money, so of course you have to pay."

Jiang Fan said with shameless confidence.

Mengmeng picked out a big bag of snacks, which Yin Ruxue paid for. Afterwards, the two of them walked her back to the school gate.

The teacher was waiting at the gate to meet them. Just as Jiang Fan was about to send her in, Mengmeng suddenly said, "Daddy, crouch down."
