The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 97: An Unintentional Act Bears Fruit
Chapter 97: Chapter 97: An Unintentional Act Bears Fruit
The entire room was dead silent. Sun Yanzi, Li Muwan, and everyone else present stared at him in utter disbelief.
An instant later, all eyes turned to Li Muwan.
"He’s the one in charge of this whole project. You can take his word for it, so there’s no need to look at me."
In front of everyone, Li Muwan gave Jiang Fan the highest authority, and with it, the greatest respect.
"YES!!!"
"Jiang, you’re the man!!!"
"HOLY SHIT!!! The game I couldn’t bring myself to buy!!!"
"I can finally go on a trip! My annual leave and the vacation days combined are finally enough!!!"
...
Cries of jubilation swept through the entire sales department.
A smile touched Jiang Fan’s lips as well.
"Everyone, get ready. I’m going to go in and review the plan, and then we’ll get started."
With that, Jiang Fan, Sun Yanzi, and Li Muwan walked into the office.
The employees in the main office area were still chattering excitedly, discussing what they would do with their bonuses and time off.
Of course, many of them were also discussing just what kind of person Jiang Fan was. He’d only been at the company for a few days, yet he already had so much authority and was in charge of such a massive project.
Once inside the office, Jiang Fan didn’t stand on ceremony. He walked straight to Li Muwan’s desk and picked up the proposal.
"Well done. I was worried you wouldn’t be able to keep them in line, which would have made the next phase of the plan difficult to implement."
It was a rare compliment from Li Muwan.
"Is that so?"
Jiang Fan just smiled.
"Is there a hidden meaning in that smile?"
Sun Yanzi lightly tapped the back of his head.
"Why do employees come to work? For love? For a sense of duty?"
Jiang Fan asked rhetorically.
"No. They’re here for the money! We just need to give them what they want."
"If you want a horse to run, you have to feed it."
"The bonuses and vacation time satisfy their desires for money and freedom. To achieve that goal, they’ll give 120 percent effort."
"If this plan succeeds, we’ll recoup millions in losses and might even turn a profit. And how much are we paying them in bonuses?"
"Not even one or two percent of that, right?"
"So why wouldn’t we do it?"
Jiang Fan shrugged.
Sun Yanzi and Li Muwan exchanged a look, each seeing a flash of astonishment in the other’s eyes.
They never expected Jiang Fan to have such a thorough understanding of the workplace.
"Supervisor Sun, here are the proposal and the plan."
"The chairman has already signed off on them, so you can proceed with implementation."
"If any issues come up, you can come discuss them with me anytime."
Li Muwan handed the two documents to Sun Yanzi.
"Let’s go, Yanzi. We need to call a meeting with the team leaders and delegate the work."
"The plan is actually very simple and detailed this time. As long as we follow it step by step, there shouldn’t be any major problems."
"Alright. I’ll go gather all eight team leaders in the conference room for you."
Sun Yanzi quickly switched into work mode, speaking as she flipped through the proposal.
...
Half an hour later, she had gone over the entire plan and had a general grasp of the overall strategy.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fan’s meeting had also concluded.
"Everyone, your specific tasks have been assigned. Whether we can turn the tide for our sales department is now up to all of you."
"If you have any problems, come directly to me. That goes for funding approvals or personnel transfers."
"Don’t worry, Jiang Fan."
"This is practically spoon-feeding us success. How could we possibly fail to deliver?"
"If we mess this up, we might as well just resign in shame."
"We’d be no different from useless trash."
The eight team leaders left the conference room, tasks from Jiang Fan in hand.
Seeing this, Sun Yanzi asked with a puzzled look, "What about the two of us?"
"I knew you’d ask that. Actually, our task is the most important of all."
Jiang Fan chuckled softly.
"Because we’re in charge of overseeing the areas assigned to the eight teams, as well as the shops located in the central commercial district."
"Are you afraid something might go wrong?"
"I’m not afraid it might happen. I’m 100 percent certain it will."
"On one hand, we need to prevent any incidents. On the other, we need to act as supervisors to give them a sense of urgency."
"It’s the classic carrot and stick approach. We’ve already given them the carrot; the stick hasn’t come down yet."
Seeing him like this, Sun Yanzi nodded in admiration.
"You really are a natural at business."
"If you ever start your own company, let me know. I’ll come work for you."
"Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Yanzi. I’ll leave the planning and operational supervision for the shops in the central area to you."
"I’m going to make the rounds as the inspection team first."
"Okay."
The two of them finalized a few more details, and the entire plan was launched with great fanfare.
All sorts of promotions began rolling out at every Xuerong store.
There were spend-and-save discounts, all kinds of special offers, and even free, brand-new products for customers who spent over a certain amount.
Initially, many people were skeptical of such activities and the scale of the discounts, assuming there had to be some kind of catch or consumer trap.
But when they saw people actually going in, making purchases, and genuinely receiving the freebies, they were stunned to realize that Xuerong was really pulling out all the stops.
This was especially true for the new products they were given, some of which were even better than the items they had purchased.
In today’s internet age, the matter immediately blew up, shooting to the top of the trending lists on various apps and websites.
Many of the people who received the new products also spontaneously shared posts about it on their social media feeds.
Seeing that the time was ripe, Jiang Fan, halfway through his inspection rounds, immediately gave the order to pay to boost the topic to the very top of the trending lists.
In no time, Xuerong’s various promotions, massive discounts, and product quality completely dominated the top five trending spots.
This was a colossal wave of free advertising, an absolute windfall that had to be seized.
The money spent was just a fraction of what Xuerong Group had previously paid for celebrity endorsement fees.
Watching the fire of excitement burn hotter and hotter, a satisfied smile spread across Jiang Fan’s face.
The core principle of this large-scale event was, in fact, to capitalize on most people’s love for a good bargain.
The effect was spectacular. Every store was packed wall-to-wall with people.
Jiang Fan also realized he had somewhat underestimated the sales team leaders.
Every one of them had an excellent sense of timing. As soon as one promotion ended, another was immediately launched.
They didn’t let a single drop of this hype go to waste.
However, Jiang Fan and Sun Yanzi were swamped, running around in circles in the central district.
The central district had the fewest staff. And while there weren’t many stores, they were spread out over a massive area.
By the time the first day of the event was over, Jiang Fan felt like he was about to collapse from exhaustion.
He and Sun Yanzi, with no regard for their image, plopped down onto a mall bench and slumped over like boneless heaps, gasping for breath.
"That was insane. I never imagined people could be this crazy."
