Chapter 2717 - 2716: Negotiations

Yan Yun was somewhat surprised and said, "Huo Tian Clan Leader? Why is he here?"

Ling Feng had already regained his composure by now, and he slowly said, "When we came out earlier, we found that all the people of the Huo Clan had disappeared into thin air. Moreover, a young girl was burned to death by an inextinguishable Black Flame, which should also be the work of Huo Chou,"

"Elder Huo Yue previously said that the leader of the Huo Clan, Huo Tian, went out and has probably returned by now, discovering Huo Yue’s death, Huo Chou’s escape, and the disappearance of all clan members. He must be shocked,"

"So he wants to come and ask you about the situation," Ling Feng revealed the remaining truth to Yan Yun, and then suddenly regained vitality, "Let’s go out and take a look, after all, we might need to work together in the future."

Yan Yun nodded, then went to the entrance and opened the seal from the inside, and Ling Feng and the other two followed out.

Outside the door was indeed a group of tall men with fiery-red skin all over their bodies.

When Huo Tian saw Ling Feng and the others, he was visibly surprised, but he currently had no time or mood to know Ling Feng and his companions’ identities. He just looked at Yan Yun urgently and asked, "Yan Yun, take me to get the Fire Lotus,"

"Something happened to the Huo Clan. Huo Yue was killed, all the clan people have disappeared, and Huo Chou escaped as well. I need the power of the Fire Lotus now. Perhaps the Shui Clan will seize this opportunity to start a war with us. I need the power to rescue my clan members..."

Yan Yun shook his head and said calmly, "I already know all these things, but I can’t give you the Fire Lotus anymore because it has been stolen by your younger brother!"

"What?" Huo Tian exclaimed with shock, "How can that be? He just escaped, how could he have such mobility and power? The Fire Lotus was guarded by you and Elder Long Yan. No matter how strong he is, could he defeat both of you?"

Clearly, Clan Leader Huo Tian was quite familiar with the Fire Dragon named Long Yan and Yan Yun’s identities, and he knew well the strengths of his brother Huo Chou as well as Long Yan and Yan Yun. However, he had no idea about the Black Flame.

Yan Yun shook his head: "Your brother used a kind of Black Flame and a strange Array to trap me, then severely injured the old dragon. The old dragon fought to protect the Fire Lotus but still had it snatched away by Huo Chou,"

"As a result, the old dragon is heavily injured and is now resting and healing in the Heart of the Volcano..."

Huo Tian opened his mouth, wanting to say something but couldn’t. He was clearly shocked by his brother’s strength and the Black Flame he heard about for the first time.

Huo Tian looked at the calm Ling Feng and the others, and finally noticed Huo Hui in Ling Yao’s arms, exclaiming, "Huo Hui, how is this child in your hands? Who exactly are you?"

Ling Feng and Ling Yao exchanged glances, and Ling Yao nodded, walking over to hand the unconscious Huo Hui to Huo Tian.

Ling Feng smiled and said, "You must be the Clan Leader Huo Tian. We are travelers, also the ones in your Huo Clan’s prophecy who will help your clan overcome disasters. We were beside Elder Huo Yue before he died,"

"Before his death, he entrusted us with Huo Yue and the fate of the Huo Clan. We were also helpless regarding Huo Yue’s death. It’s just that Huo Chou’s strength was too great, and the Black Flame almost killed Elder Huo Yue with a single strike. I couldn’t save him in time."

Huo Tian examined Huo Hui, seemingly checking for injuries, and relaxed a bit upon finding none, and then saw the bracelet on Huo Hui’s hand which originally belonged to Huo Yue, making him somewhat believe Ling Feng’s words.

Ling Feng was also surprised at Huo Tian’s actions, as Huo Hui was now in a state with blue skin, yet Huo Tian could instantly recognize this child who didn’t belong to their tribe. Clearly, Huo Tian knew Huo Hui’s identity.

Yan Yun handed the Prophecy Scroll of the Huo Clan to Huo Tian. Huo Tian unfolded the scroll and looked at it for a long time, gradually showing a shocked expression on his face, clearly finally confirming Ling Feng’s identity.

Huo Tian stepped forward, clasping his fists while kneeling halfway on the ground, and said, "You three are truly the saviors in our clan’s prophecy. I, Huo Tian, beseech you to save our Huo Clan’s people, to save the fate of our Huo Clan!"

"As long as you agree to save our Huo Clan, I’m willing to do anything, I could even be your slave for life, just beg you to help me find my clan people!"

The attendants behind Huo Tian saw their clan leader kneeling and also knelt down, shouting, "Beg the people of prophecy to save our Huo Clan!"

Ling Feng quickly went over to help Huo Tian up, gently saying, "Clan Leader Huo Tian, there’s no need for such formalities. I already promised the dying Elder Huo Yue in the secret chamber that we would do our best to help the Huo Clan overcome this disaster,"

"But we are not philanthropists either, and we do require compensation. Of course, we don’t need anyone to be a slave or anything, just the Fire Lotus Elder Huo Tian promised me back then will suffice,"

"As long as we get the Fire Lotus, I, Ling Feng, vow here that I will fully aid the Huo Clan," Ling Feng suddenly showed hesitation, "But as you know now, the Fire Lotus was stolen by your brother Huo Chou, making this matter very difficult,"

"Your brother has such terrifying strength, which I have witnessed. The Black Flame paired with his fire-control techniques is unique. If he stirs up trouble, and the Shui Clan learns of your Huo Clan’s internal discord,"

"If they launch a surprise attack and forcefully start a war with you, even if we are people of prophecy, and with your powerful strength as clan leader, I’m afraid it’s like pouring a cup of water on a burning wagon, it won’t help much, and annihilation could happen in an instant."

Ling Feng explained with reason and emotion, laying out all his concerns and conditions without holding anything back.

Hearing these words, Huo Tian paused and began to carefully ponder the complexity of the situation. However, Huo Tian’s thinking had always been a bit slow, and having so much information and conditions thrown at him suddenly left him overwhelmed.

Ling Feng reassured, "No need to rush, Clan Leader Huo Tian, you can take your time thinking, just decide what we should do first now,"

Ling Feng’s gaze sharpened, its depth making it hard for anyone to meet it directly, "Maybe if you think it’s possible, we could start by finding Huo Chou to retrieve the Fire Lotus. By then, maybe my strength will also improve,"

"Then assisting you in rescuing all the Huo Clan people, reestablishing morale and the army, so that even if the Shui Clan wants to take advantage of the situation, we will have the capital for war and won’t fall into a passive state."

Huo Tian’s eyes brightened, and after a long breath, he finally cupped his fists towards Ling Feng and said, "As long as we can save my clan people and avoid annihilation, everything will be up to you, sir."

Ling Feng smiled slightly, awaiting this very sentence!

Both sides finally reached an agreement, and just as they were about to continue discussing strategies, a voice with a smile suddenly came from the sky:

"Haven’t visited your Huo Clan for a long time, why does it suddenly become so lively!"
