Chapter 2756 - 2753: Clan of Darkness

"Speak clearly, who exactly has been taken?" Shui Nian asked urgently, but it was clearly a pointless question as even Ling Feng could sense Shui Nian’s perfunctory attitude.

However, Ling Feng did not engage with Shui Nian, instead, he heavily slapped the monitor and angrily shouted, "Who took her? Speak clearly! If you don’t make it clear, I’ll take your life today!"

Shui Nian also interjected, "Quickly answer Ling Feng’s question! I sent you to protect our distinguished guests, not to mumble here. Look what you’ve done! You actually let something happen to our guests on our territory!"

The monitor was almost knocked out by Ling Feng’s slap, but when he caught sight of the cold intent in Great Elder and the Clan Leader’s eyes, his body shuddered involuntarily, and he recalled:

"I really don’t know... I just saw a group of shadowy figures. They were all black but had red eyes. When they arrived, they quickly took Miss Ling Yao. I tried to stop them, but they knocked me out!"

"I honestly don’t know, it’s not my fault..." The monitor’s eyes revealed a pleading look, begging Shui Nian and Shui Kong with a desperate gaze.

Ling Feng suddenly became calm, but his gaze remained icy cold. The overwhelming rage had subsided or was well concealed.

Ling Feng’s arm stiffly stretched out, holding the monitor’s collar steadily, then he hoisted him high into the air and tossed him skyward.

As the monitor fell back in front of Ling Feng, Ling Feng suddenly struck with a palm, hitting the monitor’s chest accurately. The monitor groaned, then flew out like a cannonball, crashing heavily into the ruins.

The monitor slowly spat out blue blood, then fainted.

Shui Nian glanced at his fate-sealed confidant and turned his head away, closing his eyes. With such power and a heavy blow, even if the monitor didn’t die by luck, his life was likely ruined.

Shui Kong saw his clansman was disabled by Ling Feng, and was furious, immediately wanting to confront this arrogant outsider, but was held back by Shui Nian.

Shui Kong looked at his grandfather with confusion and surprise mixed with a bit of anger, but there was a trace of restraint in his gaze. He slowly shook his head at Shui Kong, signaling his grandson not to be impulsive.

Only then did Shui Kong manage to control his emotions.

Ling Feng then coldly spoke to Shui Nian, "Tell me, Elder Shui Nian, what’s going on with this guy? Who are those people with black robes and red eyes?"

"If you don’t have a satisfactory explanation today, don’t blame me for causing a commotion in your Shui Clan. I hope you’re sensible enough not to think the Shui Clan can challenge my authority. If we do come to blows, I might well destroy the Shui Clan."

Shui Nian listened to Ling Feng’s child-like harsh words but couldn’t find it even a bit amusing, only feeling Ling Feng’s thick threat and the emotions he was trying hard to suppress. A few drops of sweat were seeping from Shui Nian’s forehead; he was extremely tense.

"Ling Feng, listen to my explanation. This person truly was someone I sent to protect you. After all, times have been uneasy, with undercover agents and spies infiltrating from other worlds. I arranged my confidant around this residence to secure you three,"

"This person is a skilled hand among our Shui Clan, and I did not expect he would be so easily defeated by those people in black robes. According to my speculation, those people are likely not part of our Shui Clan,"

"If they have black skin and red eyes, they are most likely from the Clan of Darkness of the fourth level in Nine Nether World. We’ve had a long-standing feud with the Water Wave World, resulting in constant sabotage from their spies. It’s really beyond our control."

"Regarding your wife..." Shui Nian carefully chose his words, seeing no objection from Ling Feng but a slight change in his facial expression. He rephrased, "We’re truly sorry for your friend being taken,"

"But we don’t understand why when this happened, you weren’t here. Did Ling Feng and your friend have matters outside?" By ’friend,’ Shui Nian naturally meant Song Ruozhao.

Ling Feng turned his head, his expression changed as he coldly stared at Shui Nian, his tone incredibly icy, "What? Do I need to report to you when I go out? Have you Shui Clan locked us up here so even leaving has to go through your approval?"

Shui Nian quickly waved his hands and said, "Of course... of course not. I was just curious where you went, suspecting your journey might have been compromised, which is why the Clan of Darkness seized the moment of your absence to abduct your friend,"

"Otherwise, if you were here, there’s no way those people from the Dark World would dare come over and take your friend!" Shui Nian concluded his reasoning, then cautiously observed Ling Feng’s reaction.

"That’s for you to answer, wasn’t it your Shui Clan who arranged for us to stay here? Who else knows about our residence here apart from you?" Ling Feng stepped towards Shui Nian, speaking in a sinister tone:

"Or are you saying that your Shui Clan has already colluded with the Clan of Darkness, and you plan to capture my friend while we leave, using that as leverage against us?"

"Perish the thought, perish the thought! We’ve always had deep grudges with the Clan of Darkness, and throughout the years, we’ve experienced small conflicts and larger wars. Thus, it’s absolutely impossible for us to connect with them! I ask for Little Ling Feng to discern right from wrong and not to falsely accuse us,"

"Hmph!" Ling Feng snorted coldly, then after a long period of silent contemplation, he said: "You must have a portal to the Dark World, right? Take me there now, I need to see what kind of powerful race this Clan of Darkness is, daring to snatch my people!"

"Well..." Shui Nian was troubled and bowed his head.

"What, are you hiding something? Don’t want to take me there?" Ling Feng’s gaze sharpened, releasing his aura and pressure once more.

"Certainly not, but opening the portal to the Clan of Darkness always signifies the start of war, so we’ve always been hesitant to open it rashly. If we suddenly open it this time, it might never close again,"

"When the Clan of Darkness army attacks, our Shui Clan won’t be fully prepared, leading to heavy casualties..."

Shui Nian hesitated, and even Shui Kong bowed his head in silent thought.

"Why worry? You know full well that calamity is imminent for the Shui Clan, coming a few days early makes little difference. Besides, if you open the portal just for the two of us, you won’t face insurmountable trials,"

"Have you forgotten, Elder Shui Nian, we have an agreement, a transaction even. You’ve promised me treasures, and when your Shui Clan faces difficulties, I’ll definitely lend a hand; I won’t stand idly by,"

"You can rest assured of that!" Ling Feng promised, "Now, the urgent task is to find my friend’s whereabouts. If anything happens to her, our agreement will be null, and I’ll make both the Shui Clan and the Clan of Darkness pay the price!" Ling Feng said with thick coldness.

After much thought, Shui Nian nodded and said: "Very well, this matter is indeed closely tied to our Shui Clan, we must bear the responsibility,"

"But, Little Ling Feng, it’s possible they didn’t take your friend directly back to the Dark World, because the spatial membranes between worlds are solid and thick right now, making it difficult for anyone to open them,"

"So I believe your friend must still be in our world; finding her will take some time. But don’t worry, I’ll immediately command the entire clan to search for your friend’s whereabouts,"

"Then, I’ll lead you to the portal to investigate, as the probability of encountering the Clan of Darkness there is greatest, given the dense dark energy that many from the Clan of Darkness must visit multiple times,"

"Otherwise their strength diminishes due to difficulty adjusting to our Shui Clan’s environment,"

"How does that sound to you?" Shui Nian proposed.

Ling Feng contemplated for a moment before swiftly deciding: "Let’s do that, take me to the portal at once."

"Alright!" Shui Nian agreed, then turned to Shui Kong saying: "You head back, I’ll take them myself."

Seeing his grandfather’s profound gaze, Shui Kong immediately understood his grandfather’s intention for him not to intervene, trusting Shui Nian to resolve this matter himself. With a nod, Shui Kong coldly glanced at Ling Feng before turning away.

Water creatures appeared with a wave of Shui Nian’s arm, and Ling Feng mounted Little Fei’s back, then said to Song Ruozhao: "Brother Song, you don’t need to accompany me, after all, this is a personal matter."

"It’s alright, between you and me, no need to stand on ceremony. I’m also curious to see what exactly this Clan of Darkness is, to cause fear wherever their name is mentioned,"

Song Ruozhao’s words shook Shui Nian’s spirit, glancing at Song Ruozhao who then turned to face Shui Nian.

Upon realizing Song Ruozhao noticed his gaze, Shui Nian smiled and nodded, but Song Ruozhao did not return the gesture, instead stepping into the void.

Shui Nian’s expression turned cold as Song Ruozhao turned away, then, under Shui Nian’s guidance, Ling Feng and his companions flew beyond the Shui Clan’s territory.
