The Grey Rat's Demon Path
Chapter 389 - 331: Giant Spiritual Ship, Blood Corpse Commerce (Part 2)
Filled with questions, Xu Chang’an entered his private guest room.
The journey from here to their destination would take three thousand years.
In all his years of cultivation, Xu Chang’an had never passed such a long stretch of time.
How he would spend his time on the Spiritual Ship was something he needed to consider.
The room the Blood Corpse Commerce had arranged wasn’t small. It came with a Cultivation Meditation Mat, a Meditation Jade Platform, and was inscribed with Arrays.
It also offered a view of the scenery outside. All in all, it was quite nice!
Just as Xu Chang’an stepped into his room, a faint, almost imperceptible tremor ran through the entire Spiritual Ship.
SWOOSH!
The Spiritual Ship became a streak of lightning, disappearing over the horizon.
From his room, Xu Chang’an watched the scenery outside rapidly recede.
As the Spiritual Ship continued to accelerate, the initial, almost imperceptible tremor vanished completely.
‘As expected of a Spiritual Ship! This speed is at least several times faster than the Spiritual Boat from the Demon Palace!’
‘But even so, it will still take three thousand years to reach the Blood Rock Land! The vastness of this Great Realm is truly unimaginable!’
While the Spiritual Ship sped onward, Xu Chang’an was perfectly comfortable in his room.
As the Demon from the Blood Corpse Commerce had explained earlier, there was a Jade Scroll in every guest room.
The Jade Scroll recorded most of the Spiritual Ship’s layout and general information.
It also listed some of the prohibitions aboard the Spiritual Ship.
Xu Chang’an scanned briefly with his Demon Sense and found the Jade Scroll.
After reviewing the information with his Demon Sense, he gained a better understanding of the Spiritual Ship.
The Spiritual Ship was immense, fully equipped with guest rooms, lounges, and public spaces.
Furthermore, it was protected by multiple Tier Seven Arrays, granting it extremely strong defenses.
Demon Fiends who had accepted the mission were strictly forbidden from practicing destructive Divine Techniques or Magic aboard the Spiritual Ship.
Access to the seventh floor and above was strictly forbidden.
Unauthorized Magical Combat was strictly forbidden.
Beyond that, there weren’t many other restrictions.
On the contrary, the Spiritual Ship had plenty of recreational areas to help them pass the time and ease the loneliness of the long journey.
There was also an abundant supply of Spirit Wine and Spiritual Food on the Spiritual Ship.
At their Realm, these Demon Fiends had long since been able to sustain themselves without food through Fasting.
But enjoying some delicious Spiritual Food from time to time was still a rare pleasure.
Having just boarded the Spiritual Ship, Xu Chang’an had no plans to indulge in Spiritual Food or Spirit Wine.
‘Three thousand years!’
Xu Chang’an sighed to himself, then sat cross-legged on the Meditation Jade Platform to continue his comprehension of the Bright and Pure Disaster Relief.
His Bloodline was exceptionally potent, allowing him to make rapid progress in comprehending this Kui’s Treasure Demon Technique.
As the saying goes, time flies during cultivation. Thirty years passed in the blink of an eye while Xu Chang’an was in seclusion in his room.
Building on his experience with condensing the Bloodline vortex, he successfully formed the second set of meridian fulcrums in thirty years.
His Concealment and Breath Control abilities had improved once again!
These thirty years passed peacefully.
There had been no incidents of the Tribulation Cultivating Demon Race attempting to waylay them.
Given the Spiritual Ship’s immense size, any discerning member of the Tribulation Cultivating Demon Race would know at a glance that this was not a target to be trifled with.
‘I’ll go out and have a look.’
Xu Chang’an stepped out of his room.
The Spiritual Ship had a dedicated recreational area, a series of pavilions surrounded by lush Spirit Plants, all arranged with an artistic and serene flair.
By the time Xu Chang’an arrived, quite a few Demon Fiends had already gathered in the dozen or so pavilions.
Many of the Demon Fiends on the Spiritual Ship would take the opportunity to cultivate, but the journey was long and monotonous. Some, unable to stay cooped up, would come out to socialize.
These Demon Fiends belonged to the latter group.
Xu Chang’an hadn’t stepped out of his room for thirty years.
As a result, he didn’t recognize any of the Demon Fiends in the pavilions.
However, he had memorized the faces of many of the Demon Fiends from the previous gathering on the hill, even if he had only seen them once.
Now, at a glance, he saw that many of the Demon Fiends in the pavilions were unfamiliar faces.
He didn’t have to think hard to realize that these must be the Demon Fiends who had accepted the escort mission.
‘I might as well gather some information.’
With that thought, Xu Chang’an walked toward the nearest pavilion.
“Hello, Fellow Daoists!”
Xu Chang’an was very polite, greeting each of the Demon Fiends in the pavilion.
Some Demon Fiends returned the greeting, while others remained noncommittal.
But for the most part, none of them seemed malicious.
The Demon Fiends who gathered here were mostly the sociable type.
There were about seven or eight Demon Fiends in the pavilion, all with different physiques and appearances.
The central stone table in the pavilion was laden with Spiritual Food and Spirit Wine.
It was all provided free of charge by the Blood Corpse Commerce for the Demon Fiends.
Xu Chang’an’s intention was to get a feel for the situation.
He very naturally found an empty spot in the pavilion and sat down.
Xu Chang’an’s arrival didn’t interrupt the Demon Fiends’ lively conversation.
They continued to chat amongst themselves while eating Spiritual Food and drinking Spirit Wine.
“Fellow Daoist Yan Hua, tell us again about that big battle that broke out earlier!”
A Demon Fiend called out eagerly to a skinny youth with blue skin and a black face.
The skinny youth, known as Fellow Daoist Yan Hua, had a Late-stage Void Refining Cultivation and was also an Yingzhao-level Demon Fiend.
He was one of the Demon Fiends from a previous batch that had boarded the Spiritual Ship earlier.
He knew inside details that later arrivals like them were unaware of.
This Fellow Daoist Yan Hua clearly enjoyed being the center of attention among the other Demon Fiends.
He held a vermilion Spirit Fruit and began to speak with great confidence.
“Since all you Fellow Daoists want to hear, I’ll be happy to tell you all about it!”
“The Blood Corpse Commerce has been operating in the Bone Demon Province for countless years. It’s a renowned, major commerce guild! Their business extends across numerous Demon Cities and even reaches into several neighboring Provinces!”
