The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered

Chapter 184 - 183: Water Prison

  • Next Chapter

The next morning.

Yvonne Lowell ignored Mr. Grant’s resentful, lingering gaze and kicked him onto the plane headed for The Shadow Pavilion.

’That damn man. It’s bad enough he fools around all day, but he’s always nibbling on me. He even left a hickey on my neck before he left. Absolutely useless!’

Felix Knight started the car and glanced at the rearview mirror. "Master, where to now...?"

"To Cole’s place," Yvonne Lowell said, her eyes fixed on her phone, not even looking up.

"Yes."

On the way, Finn Knight, sitting in the passenger seat, couldn’t contain his curiosity and asked,

"Master, why do you think Dawson betrayed Cole? Cole clearly valued him so much. Plus, he had the reputation of being a lifesaver. At North, he was less of a subordinate and more like a brother to Cole."

Yvonne Lowell’s lips curved into a sarcastic smirk. "Money moves hearts. Dawson has always been ambitious, not to mention the benefits were substantial. Besides, what makes you so sure that ’lifesaver’ title isn’t inflated?"

"You mean the shooting was deliberately orchestrated? The person behind it did it just to plant Dawson in North?!" Finn Knight realized with a start.

"I never said that. Don’t twist my words."

With that, Yvonne Lowell shrugged and closed her eyes to rest.

’...The way she pretends to be asleep is just soul-crushing.’

「Two hours later.」

The car drove unimpeded into a base in the northernmost part of Continent N. In the distance, they could see a man standing at the entrance, eagerly awaiting their arrival.

A sleeveless shirt, floral shorts, a thick gold chain, and flip-flops. A buzz cut, a gold watch, and a full-sleeve tattoo.

Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help but twitch her lips. ’Great. Another one whose fashion sense has been ruined by Zachary Jacobs.’

As soon as the car stopped, Cole immediately opened the door from the outside. "My dearest sister, you’re finally here!"

"What’s the rush? I’m just here to interrogate someone for you, aren’t I?"

Yvonne Lowell shot him a sidelong glance, unable to hide the disdain in her eyes.

Cole gave an awkward laugh and led them toward the Water Prison.

"I was just afraid I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from putting a bullet in his head! That bastard keeps playing the sympathy card with me. He just repeats the same few lines over and over. The more I hear it, the more I want to puke."

Yvonne Lowell scoffed. "Of course. After all, he took a bullet for you back then. That’s a life-saving favor. You should pledge your life to him in return."

"Stop making fun of me! I’m as straight as they come! I’ve already found out it was a set-up, but he absolutely refuses to cough up who’s behind it," Cole said miserably.

’I can’t win an argument with her, and I can’t beat her in a fight. The worst part is, she’s right. It’s so frustrating!!!’

「The Water Prison.」

Yvonne Lowell heard a man’s shouting even before she reached the entrance.

"Cole, how could you do this to me?! Don’t you forget, I saved your life four years ago! I was only sixteen! The bullet was lodged in my chest, I lost so much blood, and I barely made it out alive. If I hadn’t taken that bullet for you, you’d have been dead long ago! North wouldn’t even exist!"

Then came the sound of a whip cracking, followed by the rebukes of Cole’s men.

"You son of a bitch, we’ve got your lines memorized by now. If you’re going to curse the Chief, then curse the Chief. What’s the point of cursing North?!"

Hearing this, Cole couldn’t help but twitch his lips. ’So in his men’s eyes, the organization is more important than their chief, huh?’

’No, you’re overthinking it. The great Falcon is way more important than you.’

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow and stepped inside, with Cole and the two Knights following close behind.

Seeing them, the men immediately stopped what they were doing. "Sister Falcon, Chief."

Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help but shiver. The feeling of two brawny men, all bulging muscles, calling her "sister" in a strained, high-pitched voice was truly... indescribable.

"Just call me by my name. Don’t call me sister."

But the men were stubborn. "Sister Falcon, we can’t break the rules."

Yvonne Lowell took a deep breath, swallowing the curse that was on the tip of her tongue. ’Fine, whatever.’

"Bitch! You’re the one behind this, aren’t you?! Otherwise, how could Cole treat me like this?!" Hearing the familiar address, Dawson lifted his head and roared in fury.

Yvonne Lowell shot Cole a humorless smile. ’This damn kid. Making me the scapegoat just so he can wait for some ’perfect moment,’ is that it?’

’Why does the Water Prison suddenly feel a little cold? Is my sleeveless shirt too drafty?’

Yvonne Lowell picked up a nearby telescopic baton and used it to lift Dawson’s chin.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look at this poor little body, all beaten up. How pitiful. Even in this state, you still find the energy to run your mouth at me, huh?"

"I don’t need your fake kindness! It was you, wasn’t it?! You’re the one who slandered me in front of Cole!"

’What gave him the delusion I was actually concerned about him?’

’Dammit, I really hate stupid people! Can every idiot in the world please stop coming near me!?’

"You were caught red-handed, but you still try to pin the blame on me? You’re the first person who’s ever dared to do that," Yvonne Lowell said with an unreadable smile.

"By the way, which hand was it that you used to block my car last time? Tsk, I’m getting old, my memory isn’t what it used to be. I can’t quite recall. Oh well, let’s just get rid of both of them."

The moment she finished speaking, Yvonne Lowell swung the baton and smashed it viciously against each of his arms.

CRACK! CRACK! Both his arms broke.

"AHH!! Bitch!! How dare you!!!" Dawson’s face went pale with pain.

The corners of Yvonne Lowell’s mouth lifted, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes. "Tch. What wouldn’t I dare to do? If you hadn’t taken that bullet for Cole, you would’ve lost your tongue the very first time you mouthed off to me."

’Back when Moonshadow’s foundation was unstable and they were beset by enemies from all sides, Cole had helped her out. She owed him for that, which was why she ignored Dawson’s barking. But that was no longer an excuse for him to keep running his mouth.’

’I’m so moved! Sister Falcon is so good to me! So considerate!!’

"But I’ve always been curious. Why do you have so much animosity toward me? Ever since you started following Cole, it seems like every time you see me, you take a jab at me behind his back."

Yvonne Lowell nonchalantly poked at his wounds with the baton in her hand.

"Heh. A vicious, ruthless woman like you has hurt so many people. It’s no surprise you don’t remember me," Dawson sneered, glaring at her with eyes swollen into slits.

Yvonne Lowell’s lips twitched. "You’ve got a point. So many people already hate me, one more doesn’t make a difference. In that case, I won’t bother asking."

As she spoke, she lifted the baton again and brought it down on his collarbone.

"Hiss!" Cole leaned his head on Felix Knight’s shoulder. ’Sister Falcon is just as terrifying as they say.’

’...Who is this moron?’

’This isn’t how the script is supposed to go... Aren’t you supposed to interrogate me?! Ask me!!!’

As if reading his mind, Yvonne Lowell rolled her eyes. "What? Did you think I was going to beg you for an answer? It’s just the reason some dying man hates me. Is that really important?"

Dawson’s lips twitched. "You’re feeling guilty, aren’t you? The more you don’t want me to talk, the more I’m going to."

’...For fuck’s sake, weren’t you the one who didn’t want to talk?!’
