The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered
Chapter 191 - 190: Your Survival Instinct Doesn’t Have to Be This Strong
Leo Grant was stunned for a moment before replying,
"Yeah, even the chefs here are men. We’re not completely without female creatures, but they’re all mosquitoes, bugs, rats, and ants. None of them are human."
’So, it really is true.’ Yvonne Lowell’s understanding of the extent of his gynophobia deepened yet again.
When she didn’t say anything, Leo Grant’s expression became rather complicated.
"Bonnie, you don’t suspect I’m hiding a woman in The Shadow Pavilion, do you? I swear, in my eyes, there are only two kinds of people: you and everyone else. And I have absolutely no interest in everyone else."
Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help the corner of her mouth from twitching. She was just a little curious, hence the question. ’His survival instinct doesn’t have to be *this* strong...’
"I was just curious if there were any female members. After all, plenty of female assassins and mercenaries are quite skilled. You don’t recruit them?"
Leo Grant tapped her on the forehead, slightly exasperated.
"Of course I know some female mercenaries are skilled, but you know I have gynophobia. That’s why The Shadow Pavilion has only ever recruited men."
Yvonne Lowell coughed lightly. "Fair enough. That’s one way to solve the problem at its source."
’It’s just... for The Shadow Pavilion to have been around for so many years without a single rumor about its Pavilion Master preferring men... that’s quite a feat.’
Leo Grant: ...??? ’Yep, that’s a thought only my dear girlfriend would have.’
"Besides, no matter how good they are, could they compare to Falcon? We don’t know if Falcon is a man or a woman, but in the minds of all those famous assassins and mercenaries, Falcon is an undefeated god," Leo Grant said with a raised eyebrow.
Yvonne Lowell shot him an annoyed glare. "Hey, no putting others down just to praise someone else. Besides, I’m well aware of Falcon’s reputation."
’As if she’d forget. Last time at Moonshadow, this old rascal said she wasn’t known for doing nice things.’
"Ahem, that’s just slander spread by people who can’t stand you but can’t take you down. Let’s just ignore it, okay?"
Leo Grant didn’t linger on the topic. He took her hand and led her into the main building.
"Like you at the Moonshadow estate, I have the top floor to myself. My room is fully equipped, so you can stay there tonight."
Yvonne Lowell’s eyes narrowed, a hint of suspicion glinting within them.
"That doesn’t seem right. Haven’t you been trying to trick me into coming to Continent R for ages? And you didn’t even prepare a room for me? Was inviting me to ’just come hang out’ nothing but empty words?"
Leo Grant’s expression remained unchanged. He stared straight ahead, not turning his head to look at her.
"Of course not. It’s because the master bedroom is more comfortable. I planned for you to stay there from the very beginning. All of your living essentials are already prepared. I also had the guest room next to it cleaned up. I’ll sleep there tonight."
Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. "Oh, how could I? Arriving for the first time and already stealing Pavilion Master Grant’s master bedroom."
Despite her words, Leo Grant couldn’t detect the slightest hint of embarrassment on her face.
A glint flashed in Leo Grant’s eyes as he adopted a troubled tone.
"If you feel that bad about it, you could always just give me half the bed. Don’t worry, I’m a very good sleeper. I definitely won’t steal the covers."
Yvonne Lowell shot him a sidelong glance. ’She knew this old rascal was up to no good.’
’Give him an inch, and he’ll take a mile. It’s her fault for spoiling him.’
"Haha, we’ll see about tonight when tonight comes."
’As soon as it gets dark, I’ll just lock the door. I don’t care where he sleeps. He can sleep in the training grounds for all I care.’
But since she hadn’t rejected him outright, her words translated in Leo Grant’s ears to: ’Sure, come to my room tonight.’
WE! CAN! SLEEP! TOGETHER!
"Great! We’ll settle it tonight, then! Let me show you the room first!" Leo Grant said, excitedly pulling her toward the elevator.
Yvonne Lowell gave him a strange look, sizing him up. ’What on earth did he just imagine? Did he really just get himself all worked up over his own fantasy?’
’There’s a saying about a three-year age gap being a generation gap. Between her and this old rascal, there must be two whole chasms.’
’She really couldn’t quite wrap her head around an older man’s thought processes.’
Once they reached the top floor, Leo Grant patted Leogryph’s head. "Let go. I’m going to go put your mom’s luggage away. You can hang out in the living room for a while. I’ll have someone arrange a room for you later."
"ROAR!" ’Could you *be* any more biased?!’
Leogryph reluctantly let go, then turned and stomped off to the living room.
Leo Grant picked up the small clutch, opened the door, and then took Yvonne Lowell’s hand, leading her inside.
Yvonne Lowell walked in beside him, her eyes scanning the room’s decor.
It wasn’t much different from his room at Tidalview. It was just... very Leo Grant.
"I’ve stocked the bathroom with all the skincare, makeup, and toiletries you usually use. The computer on the desk is all yours—I got it just for you."
Leo Grant led her into the walk-in closet. "I also had these clothes bought over the last few days based on your usual style. If you don’t like them, we can go shopping for new ones later."
Seeing the jam-packed walk-in closet, Yvonne Lowell couldn’t stop the corner of her mouth from twitching.
Women’s clothes filled half the entire closet, all of them brand new with the tags still attached.
They were all in the brands and styles she usually wore, and there were pajamas, accessories, bags, and shoes too.
The theme was clearly ’you want it, you got it.’ It had everything she could possibly need—and even some things she couldn’t.
’This... she probably couldn’t wear all of this even if she lived at The Shadow Pavilion for a whole year!’
But at the thought of his attentiveness, Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help but smile. She reached up and gave him a quick peck on the chin.
"Thank you, President Grant. I love it."
Seeing that she genuinely liked it, Leo Grant let out a huge sigh of relief.
’Operation: Get Into Bed With Her. Completion: 10%.’
’Tsk. The revolution is not yet won; the comrade must press on.’
"I’m glad you like it. Give me a second, I need to change. This sweatshirt is practically marinating in Leogryph’s drool."
As he spoke, he pulled his sweatshirt off right in front of Yvonne Lowell.
Yvonne Lowell found herself staring, yet again. She hated being such a sucker for a pretty face.
Her gaze drifted down to the drawstring of his cargo pants of its own accord.
’Tsk. I want to pull that open.’
Sensing her scorching gaze, Leo Grant hid a smirk.
"Where is it? Where’d it go? I swear I saw it this morning."
Pretending to look for a shirt, Leo Grant paced around the walk-in closet before finally walking toward Yvonne Lowell.
Before Yvonne Lowell could react, a large shadow fell over her.
She raised an eyebrow. "What’s this? Decided not to wear a shirt after all? Switching to seduction tactics?"
Leo Grant didn’t answer. He simply continued to close in on her, his gaze dark and unreadable.
Yvonne Lowell felt a sudden sense of danger and instinctively tried to back away.
But the wardrobe was right behind her, leaving her no room to escape. She could only raise her hands to press against his advancing chest.
As his face grew larger and larger before her, Yvonne Lowell reflexively squeezed her eyes shut.
