The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered

Chapter 304 - 303: Harrison Lowell: Feed Me Peanuts! Feed Me Peanuts

Old Mr. Lowell, of course, understood his meaning. He patted his arm and said,

"Hey, let’s not mix things up. The fact that you were willing to adopt these three children and raise them to be so outstanding is something we should be grateful for."

"In that case, how about this? I don’t own any property in Kingsland, and I’ve taken a real liking to the design of this house. If you really want to thank me, why not just let me stay for a few more days?"

’That should do it, right? That should do it, right? That should do it?!’

’If we keep going back and forth with these pleasantries, this introvert is going to dig a ten-foot hole on the spot and bury himself alive!’

’And then you’ll all be murderers!!!’

Before Old Mr. Lowell could reply, Charles Lowell spoke up first.

"That’s not an issue at all. This is your home. Brother Preston, you can come whenever you want and stay for as long as you like."

"Since you’re telling me to treat this as my own home, let’s follow the house rules. I’ve been on a plane for several hours, and I’m tired and hungry. How about we eat first?"

Kai Preston suggested.

"Oh, right. Look at me, I got carried away with excitement and talked too much. Archie must be exhausted and starving from his long journey. Everyone, let’s pick up our chopsticks. Time to eat!" Old Mr. Lowell was the first to pick up his chopsticks.

Kai Preston finally let out a huge sigh of relief. ’This round was one introvert versus a whole team of extroverts. The introvert was down to his last drop of blood, but thankfully, it was a complete victory!’

Yvonne Lowell wanted to laugh but didn’t dare. From "Mr. Preston" to "Brother Preston," and then to "Archie."

It only took five short minutes, plus one secretly shattered Kai Preston.

The Lowell family had never followed the "no talking during meals" rule, and since today was a family banquet, everyone was quite relaxed, basically saying whatever came to mind.

First Maternal Uncle Sutton teased with a mischievous look on his face,

"Caleb, I saw online today that your company’s robots are launching ahead of schedule tonight, and tomorrow you have a limited-edition makeup product release? You’re piggybacking on Nola’s popularity a little too obviously."

After speaking, he even winked and nudged his chin toward Yvonne Lowell.

Harrison Lowell looked left and right, his face a picture of confusion and indignation.

"Hold on... Uncle, I endorsed that robot for free, without taking a single cent! How come you’re not saying he’s piggybacking on *my* popularity?!"

"Uncle, that trick won’t work on me. I’m just an employee, and isn’t it normal for the group to ride on the popularity of its own shareholder?"

Caleb Lowell’s expression didn’t change as he calmly raised his glass to him.

"Exactly, Uncle. Your skills at sowing discord are really not that great. In any case, the dividends will end up in my pocket, so I don’t really care."

Yvonne Lowell also shrugged with a teasing look, automatically ignoring a certain someone.

First Maternal Uncle Sutton shot an annoyed glance at the brother-sister duo, who were clearly in cahoots.

"I can’t win against you two, alright? You’ve been in complete agreement since you were kids, and it’s the same now that you’re grown up. You’re using all your little schemes on me."

Harrison Lowell: ’...Did anyone hear me speak?! Has the presence of a magnificent Triple Crown Film Emperor sunk this low?!’

’Give me some attention!!! Give me some attention!!!’

On the other side, Charles Lowell poured a glass of wine for Kai Preston, who was beside him, and asked,

"Brother Preston, you have East Asian features, and your Aurelian is so standard. Could it be that you’re of Aurelian descent?"

"Yes, my ancestral home is in Zalen, Aurelia. But my ancestors immigrated to Country E a long time ago; you could say they were among the very first to do so. And you don’t have to call me ’Brother.’ We’re the same age. How about we just use our first names?"

Kai Preston raised his glass to him and then drained it in one gulp.

He silently added in his head, ’In fact, I’m several months younger, so don’t you dare make me sound old again!’

"Hahaha, that’s great. We’ll do as you say."

Sensing an unignorable gaze, Kai Preston turned his head and met the curious eyes of Adrian Lowell.

Charles Lowell followed his line of sight and smiled. "That’s my little nephew, Adrian."

"Hello, Uncle Quincy!"

Caught staring and now being called out, a nervous Adrian Lowell stood up and greeted him.

"Hello, please sit down. I know you. You’re the sixth child of the Lowell family, the one who’s amazing at building LEGOs."

"You even know about that..."

Adrian Lowell was a little embarrassed, but also a little smug.

’Has the great name of Young Master Justin already spread across the ocean?!’

’My sister, honestly! How could she just tell everyone everything?! It’s so embarrassing...’

"It’s because Third... Zion also loves to play with them, so I know a bit about the things you young people are into. You’ve been looking at me this whole time. Is there something you want to ask?"

’I almost slipped up and called Zachary Jacobs ’Third.’ Better to save him some face.’

Zachary Jacobs: ’...Do you hear yourself?! How is that any different from actually calling me it?! Ahhh!!!’

Adrian Lowell: ’Right back at you. At least you’re ranked third. I’m number six and I haven’t said a word.’

Adrian Lowell subconsciously wanted to scratch his head, but then he remembered he was at the dinner table and stopped himself.

"I was just... a bit curious about you. Your surname is clearly the compound name Preston, so why do they call you Uncle Quincy instead of Uncle Preston?"

Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Lowell looked at their silly son and couldn’t help but facepalm.

’This darn kid, if you’re going to ask something, at least make it useful! Any brainpower he has is completely dedicated to building LEGOs.’

Kai Preston couldn’t help but chuckle. This kid’s personality was quite similar to Third’s.

"Maybe because it’s shorter? My friends all call me Old Man Quinn, so they just followed suit and called me Uncle Quincy. Plus, I’ve never been married. If someone suddenly started calling me ’Dad,’ I’d find it awkward myself."

"Oh, so that’s why... ’Uncle Quincy’ does seem to roll off the tongue more easily."

Adrian Lowell smiled at him and didn’t say anything more.

’Although Young Master Justin didn’t understand why this handsome uncle, who was leagues better-looking than his own dad, had never married, he didn’t dare to ask.’

’He was just a tiny bit curious, that’s all. After all, even someone who looked like his dad managed to find a wife as beautiful as his mom...’

Caleb Lowell: ’...Did I do something to you?!’

After dinner, Charles Lowell took the opportunity to speak to the Suttons.

"Tomorrow is the weekend, and Old Man Grant and the others are coming over. Why don’t all of you just stay the night at the old mansion?"

"Here, go ask your father-in-law." First Maternal Uncle Sutton jutted his chin in that direction.

"Dad’s fine with it. This afternoon he already said he and my dad are going to have a showdown (read: argument) over the chessboard until dawn." Charles Lowell put an arm around his shoulder and whispered,

"But what about you? Hasn’t it been a long time since we brothers had a good drink? Now that Archie’s here, let’s drink to our hearts’ content tonight."

First Maternal Uncle Sutton shot him a sidelong glance. "You think my sister will let you drink? You think your sister-in-law will let your younger brother drink?"

’A bunch of henpecked husbands discussing drinking to their hearts’ content. Who are they trying to kid?!’

"We’re two of a kind. The pot shouldn’t call the kettle black, you know? We can just go apologize together afterward, can’t we?"

First Maternal Uncle Sutton was about to slap his hand away, but he stopped when he heard this and said softly,

"You promise we’ll apologize together."

"Guaranteed, we’ll go together!"

Charles Lowell had a look on his face that screamed, ’We’re brothers, it’s a bond of the heart! You have to trust me!’

"Fine. I’ll trust you this once," First Maternal Uncle Sutton agreed.

Charles Lowell downed the wine in his glass in one go, hiding the cunning glint in his eyes.

’It’s good that they’re staying. This way, they won’t cause any trouble for his daughter tonight.’
