Chapter 530: Chapter 529: Underestimating the Enemy

"Because you’re too weak. You’re not worthy!"

Just then, a voice laced with cold disdain suddenly rang out.

Qin Ya turned and saw a middle-aged man in a white martial uniform walking toward him. He spoke coldly to Qin Ya, his expression filled with scorn and derision.

"Oh? Weak?" Qin Ya glanced impassively at the man in white. The corner of his mouth lifted into a faint smile as he said coolly, "We’ll see who’s strong and who’s weak when it’s time to seize the seals."

"Hmph. You’re courting death!"

The man in white snorted. "You’ll soon find out..."

Just as he was about to add a few more taunts, Jii Xingyue, who was standing beside him, furrowed her brow. A faint yet powerful aura emanated from her, stunning the man into silence.

The man’s pupils constricted as he sensed the aura of a Half-Venerable. He swallowed the rest of his words, shot Qin Ya a venomous glare, and retreated to the side.

Jii Xingyue looked at Qin Ya, her brows still slightly furrowed.

’To be sure, she could sense that there was more to Qin Ya than met the eye. But no matter what, he’s just a Half-Step King. Can he really contend with so many Era-Defining Kings for the Devouring Evil Seals?’

"Xingyue, just let him be."

Just as Jii Xingyue was about to forcibly drive Qin Ya away, the Meiying Venerable in the mirror spoke astonishing words, surprising everyone who heard.

’This youth actually caught the Venerable’s attention? Could he really be someone extraordinary?!’

"Hmph. The Venerable probably wants him to fend for himself. It’s a lesson to teach him that there’s always someone stronger, so he shouldn’t be so arrogant."

"Exactly. With his pathetic level of Cultivation, why would the Venerable pay him any mind?"

"He offended an Elder from the Dongmen Family. He’s definitely in for a world of hurt."

The crowd sneered, but Mo Bokong and his companions only wore mysterious smiles.

Their gazes, filled with a strange light, fell upon the figure who stood tall despite all the doubt. ’Go on,’ they thought. ’Show them what a true monster looks like!’

Aside from Mo Bokong and his group, one other person watched with a complex expression and flickering eyes: the Jinlin City Lord, who had caused trouble in Qingkong City several months ago.

’Even though Qin Ya is wearing a mask,’ he thought, ’to be this young and representing Qingkong City in the fight for the seals... he must be their Deputy City Lord. On that day, I saw with my own eyes as Qin Ya cut down three Era-Defining Kings in succession. I’m not even sure I could accomplish such a feat. Perhaps after this battle for the seals, his name will spread throughout all of Meiying County... no, perhaps even the entire Divine Country.’

Since the Meiying Venerable had spoken, Jii Xingyue could only respectfully assent.

She then raised a palm to the sky. A massive pillar of light erupted from her body, shooting straight into the Nine Heavens. The light was dazzling, and waves of energy radiated outward.

Just then, fierce gales began to churn the clouds.

A colossal shadow that blotted out the sky suddenly loomed overhead. It descended, finally coming to a stop ten thousand meters above the crowd, exuding a vast and mighty pressure.

Only then did they see it clearly: the shadow was an enormous flying ship. From bow to stern, it spanned tens of thousands of meters, as vast as a city.

"This flying ship will be your battlefield for seizing the seals."

"Devouring Evil Seals, go!"

As she spoke, Jii Xingyue waved a hand. The forty-nine Devouring Evil Seals transformed into streaks of flowing light and shot toward the giant ship, coming to a halt above its deck.

"Charge!!"

"One of those Devouring Evil Seals is definitely mine."

"Hmph. You think the likes of you can compete with me?"

The Era-Defining Kings transformed into streaks of flowing light and shot toward the massive ship. Qin Ya, in contrast, simply smiled faintly, his eyes fixed on the sky above, his body unmoving.

The crowd erupted in derisive laughter.

"Is he an idiot? How could he possibly keep up with the speed of the Era-Defining Kings?"

"Exactly. With his pathetic level of Cultivation, there’s no way he can successfully claim a seal."

"Just him... Holy shit!"

Just as the crowd was jeering, Qin Ya suddenly moved.

He moved like a clap of thunder. The explosive acceleration from perfect stillness to incredible speed whipped up a violent gale, cracking the very ground beneath him.

He was like a silver streak of flowing light, tearing across the sky.

In the blink of an eye, Qin Ya caught up to the crowd of Era-Defining Kings and shot into the lead. His speed left everyone utterly dumbfounded.

"What the hell did I just see?"

"I didn’t see a thing. He just... vanished."

"Gods, now *that’s* what you call lightning speed."

The Era-Defining Kings rushing toward the ship were also stunned in terror.

By now, Qin Ya had already reached out. But just as he was about to touch one of the Devouring Evil Seals, a repulsive force burst from it, knocking his arm away. He frowned, momentarily stunned, before understanding dawned on him.

’So the Mansion Master placed a protective barrier on the Devouring Evil Seals. Without sufficient strength, it’s impossible to break through and claim one.’

As he was lost in thought, the group of Era-Defining Kings arrived before him.

"Ha! The kid doesn’t even know the trick behind the Devouring Evil Seals."

"Hmph. So what if he’s fast? If he can’t break through the barrier Lord Mansion Master placed on them, it’s all for naught. How ridiculous."

"Still, for a mere Half-Step King to possess such speed is incredibly rare. The kid is a true prodigy."

At that moment, the man in white—the same one who had mocked Qin Ya and earned Jii Xingyue’s ire—stepped forward. He stared coldly at Qin Ya and declared, "First, I’ll defeat you. Then, I’ll claim my seal!"

He was an Elder of the Dongmen Family, and naturally arrogant. Being reprimanded by Jii Xingyue because of Qin Ya had filled him with resentment.

And he was determined to teach Qin Ya a harsh lesson.

Seeing that the man in white was still determined to target him, Qin Ya’s expression turned frigid. "If you want a fight," he said, his voice laced with ice, "then bring it."

The words had barely left his mouth when the man in white smirked coldly. He clenched his fist and threw a punch, sending a massive Fist Seal hurtling toward Qin Ya.

With this punch, he only used thirty percent of his strength.

But in his mind, that was more than enough to deal with a mere Half-Step King.

’Underestimating me?’

Qin Ya’s expression remained serene. A black Power of Destruction suffused his palm, and with a sudden swat, he simply smashed the massive Fist Seal to pieces!

Instantly, the expressions of the onlookers turned grave.

’True, the man in white hadn’t used his full Fist Power, but Qin Ya had acted so casually. A feat like that was far beyond any Half-Step King.’

"Not bad, kid. You’ve got a few tricks up your sleeve."

The man in white’s eyes narrowed, and he began to shed his contempt.

’No wonder the kid dared to face off against Era-Defining Kings. So he was hiding this much power.’

With a cold shout, his fingers flashed with white light. He gathered the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, condensing it into a massive Fist Seal that looked powerful enough to shatter the sky and earth.

"You’re not going to use your Divine Light?" Qin Ya asked, his brow furrowed.

"Why would I need to use Divine Light to deal with you?!" the man in white retorted coldly.

"Then you have only yourself to blame for your arrogance."

Qin Ya said coolly. He then clenched his fist, and an endless Qi of Destruction gathered in his palm. Within it swirled an apocalyptic vision of a world crumbling, of all creation being annihilated.

"Mysterious Technique: Heaven’s Woe and Earth’s Misery!"
