The Invincible Doctor of the Female Village Chief
Chapter 1275 - 1275: Crisis at the Deep Pit
Actually, the clone really wanted to curse angrily. Liu Zixuan truly treated him as something to be summoned whenever danger arose. He was, after all, a strong Martial Artist at the Life and Death Realm, yet he had to remain hidden in the Relic Mini World.
Needless to say, once the clone returned to the Divine Hall in the Relic Mini World, the first thing he'd do was sit down and draw a circle to curse Liu Zixuan.
Speaking of which, Liu Zixuan and Luo Xi had already left the site of their previous battle, and were directly heading deeper into this region.
"That armored commander just mentioned that numerous demons are suppressed here. With our current strength, can we really venture inside safely?" Luo Xi asked with a frown.
"We won't go too far inside. I'm just here to observe the land they protect and see if any foreign Martial Artists have snuck in." Liu Zixuan paused, "Besides, we haven't found the path to the Northwest Region along the way. If we want to head that way, we must first find the road!"
Luo Xi nodded and spoke with a puzzled expression, "There's a question that I've always struggled to understand!"
"What question?" Liu Zixuan turned his head and asked.
"At Yudu Mountain Range, nearly a hundred people were able to enter this Ancient Ruins following the rules. But we've walked for so long and seem to have only encountered or heard of around twenty individuals." Luo Xi lifted his head and continued, "In other words, we've interacted with only a fifth of the people who entered. So where did the remaining sixty or seventy people go? We've been to the Southeast Region, the central point, and now we're in the Northeast Region, leaving only the Northwest Region and the last stop in the Southwest Region. Where do you think they went?"
The question Luo Xi posed had been a source of confusion for Liu Zixuan as well.
Logically speaking, the ruins seem vast on the surface but consist of only five regions. They've nearly traversed three regions, and the foreign Martial Artists they encountered were pitifully few.
Liu Zixuan scratched his head and grinned wryly, "This is indeed a matter worth pondering deeply because among the unseen people are many Martial Artists from our Star Sea. We initially planned to find them early, yet it turns out that, up to now, I've only met Qiqi and you."
"What should we do?" Luo Xi asked.
"They're surely quite far from us. If they were closer, I could sense the Power of the Dragon Veins. As for what to do, it's difficult to contact anyone because there's no signal in these ruins. We're left with the simplest yet most effective method."
Liu Zixuan snapped his fingers, "Just keep moving forward. Eventually, we'll meet them somewhere. I also believe that this journey to the Ancient Ruins is about to end."
"It's about to end, but I feel the real danger hasn't yet arrived!"
After pouting twice, Luo Xi clung to Liu Zixuan's arm and continued walking forward.
The two didn't venture too far forward. They halted their steps upon seeing the strange mist swirling around the mountains.
"Just standing at the foot of this mountain, the oppressive feeling is overwhelming. The atmosphere makes breathing difficult." Luo Xi furrowed his brow and glanced around, "I really wonder how many demons are suppressed here."
"The term 'demons' is merely a blanket term. Besides the Spirit Race from Ancient Times and some small tribes, there are likely other mighty beings. Ordinary mountains are shrouded in celestial energy or Spiritual Qi, but here it's filled with an aura that incites anger. It's clear that those suppressed here all harbor heavy resentment and anger."
Saying this, Liu Zixuan held Luo Xi's hand and moved to the side, "Let's leave here quickly. Your state of mind and Realm aren't sufficient yet. If you stay longer, you'll be influenced by these energies and compromise your judgment!"
Luo Xi nodded but was just about to speak when suddenly a glaring bright light appeared before them, shooting out like a meteor from near to far.
He quickly changed his words and shouted, "What's that!"
Though the day hadn't broken yet, and the dense black fog surrounded the mountains, the bright light stood out remarkably.
Even Liu Zixuan was slightly stunned!
Could it be a treasure?
With a change in expression, his pace quickened immediately, "Let's go and check it out."
Liu Zixuan's tone lacked excitement or urgency for the treasure, yet carried a hint of worry.
Luo Xi naturally noticed this and asked while running forward, "What's wrong with you?"
"I have a very bad feeling." Liu Zixuan muttered with a tightly knit brow, then said no more.
Both had high Realms, and at full speed, they quickly traversed six or seven kilometers, nearing the edge of the mountain.
"That light beam seems to be within that hollow area." Luo Xi pointed to their right front.
"Conceal your presence, you take the left, I'll take the right to investigate." Liu Zixuan said gravely.
Luo Xi nodded and easily concealed her presence, then proceeded carefully to the left. Liu Zixuan took out the Qingyu Folding Fan, holding it in his hand as he headed to the right.
From afar, the hollow seemed small, but upon close inspection, they realized it wasn't an ordinary hollow but rather a massive pit the size of half a mountain, about three to four meters deep.
Additionally, Liu Zixuan noticed faint traces of a complex Array at the bottom of the pit, reminiscent of the Black Tortoise Clan's Array.
Looking ahead, Luo Xi had already reached the edge of the deep pit, hiding behind a boulder, making her hard to spot.
Liu Zixuan stood to one side, slowly activating his X-ray Vision, which to his delight, had partially restored its function here. Though still slightly blurry, he could now see the general surroundings.
At this moment, about ten steps to his right, there were three Martial Artists hiding, seemingly whispering about something.
Above them on the hillslope were seven or eight other Martial Artists, each holding weapons, ready to act at any moment.
Moreover, not far behind Luo Xi lurked a figure whose presence gave Liu Zixuan a familiar feeling, though lacking the aura of the Power of the Dragon Veins—likely a powerhouse from the Four Symbols Sect or the Alliance of the World.
Inside the pit, at times came the roar of something, and at other times echoed cries for help.
The light that was initially unseen now flickered as the sounds below rose.
Their guess was indeed correct; it was some sort of treasure.
Danger lurked nearby, with peril all around, but in Liu Zixuan's view, likely the greatest danger lay with the treasure in the pit.
Of course, both external and internal dangers were undeniably significant…
