Chapter 1405: Chapter 1405: Unfilial Disciple

When Xv Jiazhi opened his eyes again, the weakness in his body had completely vanished.

A warm current was circulating over and over along his Eight Extraordinary Meridians, silently moistening him like a drizzle at night, washing his meridians clean.

He stretched lazily, feeling as comfortable as waking up naturally from a good sleep.

He glanced out the window—day and night had already switched places, bright daylight had turned into pitch-black darkness. Beside his ears was the sound of torrential rain, noisy yet making his heart feel strangely calm.

He turned his eyes around the room; Lin Tian had already left at some unknown time. The wall clock in the room showed: nine twenty.

"Rufeng." Xv Jiazhi called out.

The door was pushed open, and the little Daoist who had led Lin Tian earlier walked in.

"Lin Tian... oh no, my master—when did he leave?"

Xv Jiazhi asked with a playful smile.

The little Daoist Rufeng replied, "He left around two in the afternoon, it’s been about seven hours now. Oh, right, before he left he handed me a prescription, told me to start decocting it into a medicinal bath at nine in the evening. It’s already been boiling for about twenty minutes."

After listening, Xv Jiazhi’s eyes flashed sharply, and he laughed loudly. "Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Didn’t expect my master to have this kind of skill, actually able to foresee when I’d wake up. Just for this alone, it’s not a waste of all the thought I’ve put into him."

Rufeng didn’t follow up, and asked directly, "Are you going to soak in the medicinal bath now?"

"Of course." Xv Jiazhi said with a laugh, then suddenly remembered something, slapped his own forehead, and said, "Look at me rushing—where’s your master?"

"Master is in the side hall, he’s been waiting for you a long time." The little Daoist Rufeng said.

"Let him wait a bit longer then. I’ll go talk to him after the medicinal bath is done."

...

Xv Jiazhi still remembered Lin Tian’s instructions from before: only when the water cooled down would the medicinal bath be considered finished.

The medicinal bath Rufeng prepared for him was in a wooden tub, the soup a pale green, giving off a grassy smell—neither fragrant nor foul. After Xv Jiazhi stepped into the tub, he could feel a layer of herb dregs under his feet.

An hour later, Xv Jiazhi rinsed off again, put on a white bathrobe, and only then walked toward the side hall.

"Mr. Yun, I’ve kept you waiting, hahaha." Xv Jiazhi said with a booming laugh.

"You did keep me waiting quite a while." The speaker was an old man, his face full of wrinkles like a bun skin. His back was hunched, and his voice was as grating as a bald vulture’s screech.

That’s right, this was Kun Yun.

Back then, Kun Yun was defeated by the Martial Sect, and fled back to the Wang Family with Wang Sicong’s corpse and the unconscious Wang Sijing in tow.

This made the Wang Family rage from top to bottom, not only because of Wang Sicong’s death, but also because Thousand Jin Rock was lost. But Kun Yun didn’t care about any of that. In the Wang Family ancestral estate he was already enjoying the treatment of an honored guest.

While in the Wang Family ancestral house, Kun Yun even incited Wang Sijing, coaxing that girl into taking him down into the Wang Family ancestral underground palace. Below it, the ancestral tablets of the Wang Family forebears were enshrined. There were mechanisms, traps, and of course, treasures left for the Wang Family descendants.

The idea for Wang Sicong to enter the ancestral underground palace to receive bloodline inheritance back then had been put forth by Kun Yun. The reason he knew all this was from years of probing and investigation.

Not just the Wang Family—Kun Yun had been to the Yue Family, theTang Family, the Xu Family, the Li Family and other clans as well, and knew quite a few of their dirty secrets.

Within the Wang Family underground palace, aside from direct lineage of the Wang Family, outsiders were forbidden entry.

The only reason Wang Sijing brought him in was that she’d let hatred blind her eyes. Kun Yun told her that the ancestral house held a way for her to take revenge; Wang Sijing barely thought it through before inviting the wolf into the house and leading Kun Yun into the underground palace.

The underground palace had no guards, because its mechanisms were extremely complex—outsiders simply couldn’t walk in alive.

Wang Sijing never thought that after she brought Kun Yun into the underground palace, she’d be knocked out directly, even drugged, and casually tossed onto the floor.

To be fair, Wang Sijing’s looks might not be breathtaking, but the more you looked the more pleasing she was. If Kun Yun wasn’t bent on finding treasures in the underground palace, he might not have let the chance to taste this beauty slip by.

Kun Yun was a man of the demonic path to begin with, highly proficient in the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams, Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. Once he entered the underground palace, he moved as if on level ground, starting to explore all the stone chambers.

And he really did find a few treasures.

One was an Qi Cultivation Skill called "Tangxi Meridian," and another was a dagger made of the same material as Thousand Jin Rock.

He found these items in a secret compartment inside the Wang Family ancestral shrine where their forebears were enshrined.

Kun Yun was instantly overjoyed as if he’d found priceless treasure, and fled with these goods.

He knew that from then on he’d thoroughly offended the Wang Family and could never go back. So he went to find the Xv Family’s second son—Xv Jiazhi.

Xv Jiazhi was a man who mingled with all three teachings and nine schools, and naturally had dealings with someone like Kun Yun, whose entire body reeked of demonic aura—and their relationship was not shallow.

Quite a few of Kun Yun’s sinister tricks and shady methods had originally come from Xv Jiazhi.

The two of them were truly cut from the same mold—filthy souls attracted to each other. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

The cultivation methods Lin Tian gave the various great clans had loopholes—this wasn’t discovered by Xv Jiazhi, but by Kun Yun!

Kun Yun also knew that before the last diagram in "Tangxi Meridian" was understood, this Cultivation Technique must not be practiced—it was too dangerous! And he relayed that fact to Xv Jiazhi.

But unexpectedly, after Xv Jiazhi read it, his eyes spun a few times, and he decided he was going to cultivate this Technique!

First, to break through to the Golden Core realm.

Second, if he failed, it’d be the perfect opportunity to ask Lin Tian for help. Lin Tian owed him a favor anyway and definitely wouldn’t refuse.

No matter which outcome, Xv Jiazhi wouldn’t lose, so why wouldn’t he cultivate this Technique?

...

Kun Yun put down the book in his hand and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "I’ve waited till my old bones are about to turn to jelly. You brat really don’t understand courtesy—you know my hobbies, and you didn’t prepare a single woman for me. And you even wouldn’t let me bring my own."

Xv Jiazhi chuckled, "Tai Feng Pavilion has good fengshui and abundant Spiritual Qi; it’s naturally a place for pure cultivation. How could we do that kind of thing here?"

Kun Yun waved his hand, smacking his lips. "Alright, spare me the sermon. I heard from Rufeng that kid Lin Tian saved your life, and you even became his disciple? That wasn’t in the original plan, was it?"

Xv Jiazhi said, "That’s what I’d planned, I just didn’t tell you. If you want to get more things out of him, do you think relying on just the favor of the Clear Wind Evil-Dispelling Elixir is enough?"

"Not enough."

"Exactly. Once I become his disciple, besides his methods of cultivating Spiritual Qi, I can rightly get all sorts of pill recipes and Cultivation Techniques. Of course, before that, I need to earn his full trust!"

Kun Yun smacked his lips. "They all say that kid came from a hidden aristocratic clan—those things aren’t something he’ll casually hand over. Are you confident?"

Xv Jiazhi glanced at Kun Yun with disdain and said, "Tch, what you’re saying is no different from farting. ’Won’t casually hand it over’? Has he not given enough things to the various big clans? That kid Lin Tian—if he doesn’t hand things over obediently to me, there’s only one path left for him: death."

Kun Yun curled his lip. "Even if he hands them over, it’s still a dead end for him, isn’t it?"

"Hahaha, Mr. Yun, your tongue is still as blunt as ever."

"Heh, Lin Tian taking in such an unfilial disciple as you—he’s in for it in the future."
