Chapter 1344: Chapter 680: Doubts (Extra Chapter for Jue Ban Huo and He Shi Bi)

Then, at a quarter past 5 a.m., the Longkui Flower opened, followed by the Peony around 5:45 a.m., the Dandelion, and after 7:30 a.m., the sleeping lotus that could bloom on the small lake. She even spotted hops in the garden, which doesn’t even grow in the Bashe Forest. Though the name sounds strange, Huaxia people would know it well, as it has another name: “Hops,” an essential ingredient for giving beer its refreshing bitterness and fragrant aroma.

She inquired about it with Xiang Fen and learned that within a thousand square miles, hops only grow near Xinyu City, and people only use it as an ornamental flower, so only large households have some planted in their gardens. Xiang Fen, shrewd as she is, noticed her interest in hops and promptly ordered someone to bring some seeds over.

Looking up at the sky, she could still see the trees outside the mansion covered in snow, yet inside the garden, the flowers were blooming in competition, the morning dew shimmering on the trembling petals, invigorating her heart and mind.

However, she recalled the strange stir she had felt the previous night, leaving her somewhat uneasy. It seemed another Heavenly Mechanism was being drawn, but this time its implications were far-reaching, giving her a strong sense of crisis. And she believed it wasn’t just her; probably, the individuals with profound cultivation on this continent also felt it, the so-called “Heavenly Human Communication.”

Perhaps, the world is about to become more chaotic.

She sighed softly, and Xiang Fen smartly asked, “Miss, are you tired and need to rest for a bit?”

“No need.” At this moment, they happened to reach where the golden daisies were flourishing, and ahead lay a secluded path, the vegetation exuding a serene charm in usual times. However, in the garden that no one visited, it seemed somewhat deserted.

Xiang Fen, upon reaching this point, instinctively prepared to turn the wheelchair around. Ning Xiaoxian laughed and asked, “Why not go further?”

“Ahead is a small stream brought in from outside, with nothing much to see.”

Having enjoyed the flowers for a while, she was satisfied. Upon hearing this, she didn’t object. But at that moment, a sharp screech suddenly echoed from deep in the path!

The sound was like a cat having its tail stepped on.

Ning Xiaoxian’s expression immediately changed, as she recognized it was Ahua’s voice.

Immediately after, there came a hissing sound, as if a snake was moving. However, she knew this was the warning hiss that cats often made during a confrontation.

She quickly said, “Push me over there.”

Actually, she didn’t even need to say it; Xiang Fen had already heard the commotion in the woods and steadily pushed the wheelchair over. As soon as they turned past a row of hedges, they saw two cats rolling on the grass fighting. To be precise, the smaller black cat had the tiger-striped cat pinned firmly on the ground, clawing at it repeatedly.

“Ahua!” she couldn’t help but shout sternly.

Their approach certainly didn’t escape the black cat’s notice. It lazily glanced over and released its claws. Ahua, feeling as if pardoned, joyfully called out, flipped over, scrambled up, and darted behind her, covered in grass leaves!

She patted the armrest and said, “Come up.”

Ahua immediately jumped up, curling into a ball. Ning Xiaoxian gently reached to stroke the cat fur, feeling it gradually stop trembling under her caress. Its fur was much glossier than when it sneaked into King Jinghai Mansion, indicating that its nutrition had been adequate, but now its fur bore several criss-crossing bloody streaks. Although they weren’t deep, the bleeding had matted its fur.

She plucked off two blades of grass from Ahua’s body and asked calmly, “Why bully it?” The black cat could easily kill Ahua with a flick of its claw, yet it didn’t, clearly toying with him.

The black cat strode elegantly toward them, its proud tail standing like a small flagpole. It leaped onto a nearby white jade railing, meeting Ning Xiaoxian’s gaze squarely, and said, “It actually broke through my Blood Attraction Technique; I must find out how.”

Ning Xiaoxian furrowed her brows and then realized: “In the small city, it was you who used a means to track me?”

The black cat licked its paw and replied, “Exactly, as long as I have your blood, I can track your location. But after arriving in that small city, I inexplicably lost the trail. Hmph, this little Cat Demon must be the cause.”

Huangfuming holding her blood? Just thinking about it sent chills down her spine. Ning Xiaoxian knew well that when Ahua had saved her into the carriage in the city, it indeed displayed some anomaly; however, she still replied, “Ahua’s mana is weak, without even the strength to protect itself, it must be you who’s mistaken.”
