Chapter 1363: Washing Sword Pavilion’s Retaliation
Chapter 1363: Chapter 688: Washing Sword Pavilion’s Retaliation
As the few white stones hit the ground for the fifth time, the entire area shook. The reason was simple—they had absorbed so much enchanted soil that they had transformed into ten feet tall, six feet wide, giant earth golems with hands and feet! They had reached the edge of the Sword Array, just one step away from being blocked by the Sword Intent.
Without hesitation, they raised their sand-pot-sized fists and struck towards the edge of the array.
The sword light flashed, and the fists fell instantly. These giant earth golems, not knowing what pain was, were driven by Pu Shu to lift their other fists and strike again. The sword light flickered, shredding them into pieces, but their response was to kick with their legs and charge forward! Meanwhile, the small stone buried in their chest flew out with a zing and fell back into Pu Shu’s hands.
These earth golems, indeed met a heroic fate within the sharp Sword Intent. Yet, the white stones driving their actions suffered no loss and returned entirely to Pu Shu’s hand. He grinned and shook his hand, throwing the stones out again, adding six more to the original seven.
A new cycle began. The white stones absorbed soil once more and turned into enormous earth golems, which then roared and crashed into the sword light again… a scene that resembled a rewind of the prior moment.
All thirteen earth golems were ground to dust once again, after which the stones absorbed soil anew, transforming into earth golems again… No matter how lethal the Killing Intent of this Sword Array, it could only grind the golems into fine sand, while the white stones adhered to the sand particles that had been shattered.
The Washing Sword Pavilion disciples’ faces had changed, for everyone had seen that less than the span of thirty breaths, five waves of earth golems, totaling over fifty, had charged forward. Though the guarding Sword Qi dutifully shredded them all, the originally intense Sword Intent had dimmed significantly.
After all, its existence was limited, merely a dead object. Left behind by the great power of the Washing Sword Pavilion’s predecessor, its supreme Sword Intent would soon be exhausted after being consumed in such a manner. Conversely, Pu Shu only utilized a few white stones, sustaining no personal losses, and nearly wore down the Sword Intent left by the Ancient Sword Immortal completely.
From his appearance alone, the man looked like a poor tenant farmer oppressed by the rich landlord all his life, yet his tactics were cunning and deceitful!
The Chang Ran guest had broader observation than others, becoming more suspicious at this moment. If the pure Sword Intent left by the predecessors of the Washing Sword Pavilion was to be depleted by the dozens of temporarily gathered clay golems, the array would not have lasted until today. Therefore, he observed more closely, finally noticing that every golem emitted a thin, faint black light when crushed, which was so weak that even a cultivator’s exceptional eyesight struggled to capture it.
As that black light entered the Sword Intent with the golem’s remnants, while indeed crushed immediately, it slightly weakened the Sword Intent. He came to a realization, turned his gaze to Pu Shu’s face, and discovered that his dark visage had turned somewhat pale, evidently suffering some depletion himself. Yet, no one could have imagined that he was exhausting that type of black thin light rather than the golems. Given there is depletion, it is impossible to endlessly summon earth golems as everyone speculated. Even so, the encircling Sword Intent of the array had grown thin, seeming ready to break after a few more assaults.
What exactly is this black light? The Chang Ran guest felt bewildered inside, realizing it could not be ignored. From receiving Xu Liangyu’s transmission until hurrying to capture Ning Xiaoxian, the timing was indeed hasty with insufficient time to set an ambush, only using the existing Heavenly Gang Sword Formation, unknowingly that an opponent would break it using such a shameless method.
There is no perfect thing in the world. The ease of this formation lies in its simplicity, while the downside is that once activated, even Washing Sword Pavilion themselves cannot intervene, only withdrawing it when the array-bound admits defeat eventually. Therefore, the Black-bearded guest called out twice softly, and over ten disciples quickly came forward, surrounding the Sword Array in the middle.
Sure enough, just in this moment, Pu Shu conjured two more waves of golems. Twice the black light flashed; the Sword Intent finally quivered lightly and vanished imperceptibly.
The Heavenly Gang Sword Formation broke instantly! Simultaneously, the surrounding formation formed by the Washing Sword Pavilion disciples was also activated. Nature’s Spiritual Energy was immediately frantically absorbed and transformed into a fiery red Sword Qi. Though far from matching the purity left by the Sword Immortal, it prevailed in its ebb and flow, seemingly endless. In stark contrast to the typical Sword Qi’s chilling severity, these dozens of Sword Qi strands were stimulated with a searing sensation, as if to annihilate the Divine Soul.
Ning Xiaoxian, upon encountering such Sword Intent, uttered a soft “Oh,” feeling familiar: “Nanming Lihuo Sword? No, it’s an imitation of Nanming Lihuo Sword’s Sword Intent!”
Huangfuming carefully supported her arm, his tone even relaxed: “Washing Sword Pavilion is uniquely privileged; on the sword wall of the back mountain, many Sword Immortals left their Sword Intents for the disciples to often envision. Eventually, someone founded the Sword Heart Formation two thousand years ago, divided into Great Formation and Small Formation. The Great Formation requires seventy-two people to activate, while the Small Formation needs only eighteen. But without exception, the formation imitates the Sword Intent of the Ancient Divine Sword to fend off enemies; now using against us is undoubtedly the Small Formation.”
Ning Xiaoxian, seeing the Sword Qi intertwining over him, felt no hint of nervousness, thinking he must have a countermeasure. Indeed, he didn’t even move, as the tall man who forcefully collided with the golden pestle in the underground palace stepped forward, smirked viciously, raised his fist, and met the Sword Intent. Such molten gold and stone-radiating Nanming Lihuo emitted a gold and iron clashing sound against that fist punch. (To be continued.
