Chapter 1296 - 1316

Chapter 1296: Chapter 1316

After finishing the porridge, Rong You let her rinse her mouth and then lie down to sleep. Bai Ning was in pain all over and couldn’t sleep. Rong You called Qiao Qiqi to find a way to relieve her pain, and only then did Bai Ning manage to fall asleep.

...

Because of Bai Ning’s situation, Rong You’s hot pot restaurant plans were also delayed. The family’s brothers suddenly couldn’t find him, and they all called. Rong You simply said he was busy, without explaining what was going on, and hung up.

The brothers were all puzzled. How did their usually obedient and sensible little brother suddenly seem to want independence and no longer needed his brothers?

The only one in the know, Qiao Qiqi, was attending classes at school. She and Jiang Meng were inseparable now, both putting a lot of effort into their studies recently.

Xia Lulu still hadn’t given up, determined to become friends with Qiao Qiqi, thinking that by doing so she could marry into a wealthy family. But Qiao Qiqi didn’t give her any opportunity.

As for Rong Nian Nian, who got disfigured by the hot pot soup, she could only accept her bad luck. After all, she initially intended to cause harm, and it was only justice in the end.

No matter how much monitoring and investigation took place, the result was the same. Qiao Qiqi and Rong You were deemed innocent by the police.

After all, the siblings were just eating there, and she ran over herself, so the injury was her own doing.

...

A week later, Bai Ning’s condition improved a lot. She could get out of bed herself to use the restroom. During this time, Qiao Qiqi occasionally visited, while Rong You stuck close by, taking care of Bai Ning’s daily needs and meals.

Bai Ning had never been cared for like this from childhood to adulthood. She could hardly believe that such gentle and meticulous men actually existed in the world.

Qiao Qiqi arrived at Sixth Brother’s house only to discover that Sixth Brother had started to learn cooking, saying that takeaway wasn’t healthy and it’s best to cook oneself.

But if he invited the family’s servants over, Bai Ning’s presence would be exposed, which he clearly didn’t want.

So, Sixth Young Master began learning to cook himself.

"Qiqi, you’re here. I’m feeling much better today." Bai Ning was very happy to see Qiao Qiqi. The two were of similar age, and Bai Ning really liked Qiao Qiqi.

Upon learning that Qiao Qiqi was attending university, Bai Ning was full of envy. She had barely been to school, and even if she had learned, it was mostly special skills and knowledge.

"You have a strong recovery ability! If this continues, in less than half a month, you’ll be moving freely." Qiao Qiqi laughed, walked over, and held her wrist to check her pulse.

"Qiqi, I’ve just made some food. You’re in for a treat." Rong You came out of the kitchen, smiling.

"Let’s hope it’s a treat and not a disaster!" Qiao Qiqi jokingly looked at her Sixth Brother. This young master had never set foot in the kitchen before; could the food he made be edible?

"Don’t say that! What Rong You made is quite delicious." Bai Ning hurriedly defended Rong You, feeling a bit sorry that Rong You was doing so much.

"Exactly, don’t underestimate me! I’m quite capable!" Rong You raised the spatula in his hand. "Just wait, I’ll cook for you right now."

Qiao Qiqi smiled warmly, "You really think Sixth Brother’s cooking is tasty?"

Since the two were the same age, Bai Ning also called Rong You Sixth Brother along with Qiao Qiqi.

"Of course!" Although the porridge was burnt and had a bit of a smell, it was Sixth Brother’s culinary debut, so she thought it was delicious.

"As long as you think it’s good! I’m still going to order takeaway." Qiao Qiqi really couldn’t bring herself to hope for Sixth Brother’s cooking.

"Qiao Qiqi, dare you! I’m determined to prove myself today." Upon hearing this, Rong You protested immediately, angrily raising his spatula.
