The little girl had to go home to sleep every day, and she was getting unhappy about it.

"Then you talk to Great-Grandpa yourself. If the old man agrees, I won’t object." Rong Xun handed the phone to his daughter.

Nuonuo took the phone and ran into the bedroom to call Great-Grandpa.

Right now Nuonuo was still the only great-grandchild in the Family, and Elder Rong cherished her like a treasure; if he didn’t see her for a day, he’d start missing her anxiously.

That was also the reason Rong Xun had to make her go home every day.

"Mr. Rong, have a seat. I’ll go pour you a glass of water." Qiao Xi got nervous whenever she was around him, especially when Nuonuo wasn’t there; she just wanted to hide.

She only let out a breath once she stepped into the kitchen. Luckily she usually drank tea too, so there was tea at home.

She took out a cup and some tea leaves, and when she turned around with a freshly brewed cup of tea, she saw Rong Xun standing at the kitchen doorway, watching her.

Qiao Xi instantly tensed up again. "Mr. Rong, why aren’t you sitting?"

"Are you afraid of me?" Rong Xun’s tone made it a statement more than a question.

"Actually No, I’m just a little nervous." Qiao Xi gave an awkward little laugh.

"Why nervous? Am I that scary?" Rong Xun fixed his gaze on her as he asked.

"It’s not that you’re scary... it’s just... for no reason my heart gets a bit nervous. It’s really nothing." Qiao Xi awkwardly lifted her hand and tucked the stray hair by her ear behind it.

"Qiao Xi!" Rong Xun suddenly called her name.

"Yes!" Qiao Xi, suddenly singled out, straightened up at once, looking like she was waiting for instructions.

"How about we try going out together?" Rong Xun’s voice was a little hoarse.

"Okay... huh?" Qiao Xi reflexively started to agree, but when she realized what he was saying, her eyes instantly widened.

Rong Xun raised an eyebrow at her.

"N–No, what did you just say?" Qiao Xi stammered.

"I said, if you don’t mind that I have a daughter, how about we try dating?" Rong Xun asked again.

Qiao Xi was completely dazed, staring at him in disbelief, as if she’d just heard something unbelievable.

"How much time do you need to think it over?" Rong Xun wasn’t in a hurry; he hadn’t expected her to agree to him right away.

Just from how she got nervous every time she saw him, he knew she’d need time.

"I... I don’t know." Qiao Xi finally confirmed that she hadn’t imagined it; he really had said he wanted to date her.

She admired him a lot and liked him very much, but was there too big a gap between her and him?

"You don’t have a boyfriend, right?" Rong Xun asked.

Qiao Xi shook her head at once. She’d never had a boyfriend in her whole life.

First, because her looks were average; second, because she was introverted; and third, because she used to be a complete bookworm.

But such an ordinary girl like her—how could Rong Xun possibly want to date her?

Could it be because of Nuonuo? Because Nuonuo liked her, he was willing to endure it and let her be Nuonuo’s stepmom?

"Then think it over seriously. How about I give you three days? Give me an answer in three days." Rong Xun checked the time and settled on that.
