The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 2065 - 552: The Ancient Pact Awakened by the Demon King (Part 6)
That is the prototype of Geluo, the Gluttonous Rat—
Eternal Hunger Claw Urgos!
The summoned mercenary from another dimension, who was summoned by that divine presence that never showed itself, was smacked away like a fly!
The clean and decisive movement was like swatting a fly!
This is why the Rot Clan has been trembling in fear, hiding in the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range after being humiliated in Twilight Province.
This is too terrifying!
"...Because Urgos, just like you, insists that I tell you this cruel truth? That fool's intelligence is comparable to you lot; aside from the large belly capable of encompassing this sky, it is not smarter than any rat in this cave!"
Ordinary people fear chaos, but the Academic State's mages do not fear it, especially those who have truly interacted with the Void Realm.
They know full well that chaos is merely one of the many projections in the void; when they are powerful enough, they too will become one of them.
Edgar glanced disdainfully at the trembling, obese rat, lamenting the waste of Diamond Power on its flesh.
It truly is a waste.
After calming the emotionally unstable rat, Edgar turned around and cast a cold gaze toward the silent shadow in the corner of the hall.
There stood a figure cloaked entirely in black robes.
He is a high-ranking "Tomb Guardian" of the Ryan Kingdom, also a confidant of Mr. Marinus, and one of the bosses behind the Sacred Water project.
"After all, it's the mess you Ryan people stirred up," Edgar's voice carried a few degrees of reprimanding chill, "I truly don't understand why you incited those rats to attack the southern humans. Do they seem as easy to bully as you are?"
The Tomb Guardian in the shadows let out a heavy sigh, extending dry fingers to lower the brim of his hood, concealing a face weary and ashamed.
Not because of the phrase "as easy to bully as you are," after all, he did not consider himself included in that "you".
But because, indeed, it is indisputably a mess.
Mages from the Academic State usually only consider research matters, whereas Tomb Guardians loyal to the Devalu family must prioritize the interests of the Royal Court.
The problems of Roland City are far more important to Ryan's nobles than the Sacred Water project. They care not for things like the Void Realm or the Divine, but solely for worldly interests.
If they did not use the Spinor Earl's Domain to pin down the Campbell people, that Duke would extend his hand where it should not go.
Since the Lion Heart Knight Order had retreated from Twilight Province, Lord Marinus had no choice but to make this move for Your Majesty, hoping to leverage the rodent chess piece in negotiations in the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range, pulling the Academic State into their camp to achieve strength through borrowing.
But nobody foresaw that the opponent's response would exceed everyone's expectations; their minions had just climbed through the windows when something unexpected sprang from the inside.
Resulting in a mysterious force, consisting of Earth Cave Spiders and Little Demons, beating up the Ratmen of Burial Peak before the Campbell people formally acted.
This enigmatic force not only swiftly controlled the laboratories around Burial Peak but also took down Edgar's clone left there!
Clearly, there is not just one Prince behind the Campbell people, and there may even be some muddled relations with a core family from the Holy City.
Reflecting on this, the Tomb Guardian couldn't help but sigh.
Perhaps Mr. Marinus should be upfront with Your Majesty about the truth, yet unfortunately, Mr. Marinus too has a stake in this Sacred Water.
He can only coax Your Majesty with sweet words, promising some utterly impossible dreams… that's quite deadly.
Perhaps, Your Majesty is the true pitiful one.
"I will find a solution."
"You'd better hurry!"
Edgar snorted coldly, tossing over a copy of the "Thunder City Daily" from nowhere.
"Fortunately, those foolish reporters only wrote about 'Ratmen conspiracy' in their coverage, not uncovering any truly useful evidence. If they find out what we're researching, not even the Demon God can save us from such blasphemy!"
This is Edgar's sole source of relief.
What he left there should only be some notes and a bit of raw material, with Prince Colin's knowledge perhaps allowing him to deduce some insight, but probably only linking it to soul upgrade or immortality, unlikely to discover their study on the essence of the Divine.
If it's just conducting some evil rites, as long as it doesn't bring about chaos or result in numerous deaths, it's unlikely to attract the Judicial Court.
After all, we are not a thousand years ago; the Church's authority in the Old Continent is merely twilight, and the Empire cares little for non-core interests.
However, hearing this, the previously somewhat calmed Mork suddenly screamed again.
Rodent news is always lagging behind; he still lives in the fear of a thousand years ago, utterly terrified of Aus Empire's "Holy Light War."
"What do you mean by 'Ratmen conspiracy'? Ratmen don't have such a thing! Don't always place the blame on Mork's head! I am not joking, if we die, we all die together—"
"Shut up!"
Edgar's cold gaze swept over, and with the mental pressure, that brainless giant rat instantly closed its mouth and scurried back to its throne.
Die together?
Edgar sneered.
Do you merit that?
Forget those true sages, not even Lord Uriel Akler can move, at most standing with Edgar Kaufman here accompanying you to Hell.
Edgar's annoyance had reached its peak; why when other professors study the Void Realm, must he accompany this troupe of "living in a parallel world" lunatics in this charade?
Edgar turned once more to the shadow.
"I will request some support, but the top combat power must come from you. The professors from the Academic State aren't skilled in direct confrontations, and the best battle mages have been conscripted to the New Continent's frontline by the Empire. The Sacred Water we gave you isn't for hosting banquets… you understand my meaning."
"Yes."
The shadow flickered, and the figure standing there vanished, leaving merely a trace of faint death energy.
Edgar furrowed his brows slightly, then his lips curled into an amused grin.
It seems Ryan's Tomb Guardians are going to take it seriously.
"Looks like… there's something to look forward to."
